We chose Romana for our Dubrovnik guide based on her high ratings and were so pleased that we did. We learned a lot about her beautiful city during our time together and she was very kind about sharing insider tips to make the rest of our trip equally wonderful. Romana painted a picture of what life is like as a local during the tour by sharing information about her family’s history in Dubrovnik in the context of the history of the city itself. We especially appreciated her tips on buying the Dubrovnik pass, how to get to Mount Srd and how to use public transportation to get back and forth from Lapad. She also offered for us to contact her following the tour if we needed any other information during our time in Dubrovnik, which was so generous, and above and beyond what most guides provide. Our adult family of four toured Dubrovnik on a busy weekend day, and Romana made our tour feel very private and special. Her pride in Dubrovnik and her passion for its history is evident, and we loved seeing the back alleys and hidden gems like the local spices and foods in the home of a Dubrovnik shopkeeper. Visiting the Memorial Room of the Fallen Dubrovnik Soldiers was very moving, and brought home the hardships this beautiful city has faded over the many centuries. Romana was absolutely fluent in English and speaks faster than I can which meant you learned so much in the 2 hour tour. Everything from GOT facts and photoshoots, to the history of Dubrovnik, with some local folklore thrown in for good measure. Highly entertaining, educational and enjoyable. We booked this for our first night in Dubrovnik to help familiarize ourselves with Old Town more quickly. Ramona was punctual and knowledgeable. She took us to three different places where we tried local bites and drinks. Over our next days in the city we revisted one of the restaurants and relied on much of the info she shared with us. After a morning of exploring old town and walking the wall, we had a 2 hour window to see the GOT sites. We quickly booked a tour with Romana. She was great! She knew more about GOT than we could ever know and took us to all the key places and scenes. Her picture book helped us reenact in our pitiful way. “The wine tasting and street food tour is a great experience, not just for the excellent wine and cheese to start, but also for the opportunity to sit and chat with a local, being able to ask any questions. The evening was fun, we learned quite a bit about Dubrovnik itself and its development of the tourist industry in the last few years. It wasn't just a dry lecture, it was a fun conversation where Romana was very open about different cultural aspects, giving advice on how to further plan the holiday and just general smalltalk. While the main streets are quite busy in the evening, the wine bar and the street food shop werent too crowded and still allowed for a decent conversation without having to shout to get over the noise. Overall would definitely recommend the tour to get a more personal view and experience in dubrovnik.”Local experience

Romana picked us up and returned us to the ship on time. We spent a delightful day with her learning about history and culture. She is very knowledgable, energetic, and speaks good English. Romana was excellent as she customized our tour for 11 including small children. The tour included: pick up and drop off from our ship, beautiful panorama shots of Dubrovnik, historical facts including tour of sights where Game of Thrones was shot including photos of scenes! “I cannot recommend Romana highly enough! She is the friendliest and loveliest tour guide we have ever had! It was such a wonderful tour being shown Dubrovnik from a local, she showed us hidden gems and gave us excellent advice from food recommendations to tourist information. She recommended excellent restaurants to eat at and took us to a local shop (which we would have never found by ourselves) where we had some local cuisine and coffee which was delicious, we even bought t-shirts from her fathers shop which was great value and a lovely reminder of our trip. This was the highlight of our trip and exceeded expectations. I highly recommend Romana’s tour as it made our stay in Dubrovnik so much more than the few tourist things you think of doing.
