Joao or John arrived on time, which for me often is a priority. Along the way he described what we were seeing. It was about a 1 hour drive to Fatima Once there he made sure we were well informed and unrushed even though the weather sucked. Next we went to Nazare, and it was beautiful. We had a great seafood lunch and on to Obidos. Another coastal town. Overall a great tour, a welcoming guide. Thats all you can ask for. Funny,informative, and nicely laid back

We did the Family Friendly Lisbon tour with Rita on our second day in Lisbon and loved it. We have two boy aged 6 and 3 and while it was a lot of walking for our oldest (the youngest was in the stroller), Rita made sure to take lots of breaks and show us fun playground for the kids so they wouldn't get bored. She helped keep them entertained while educating us on the different neighborhoods of Lisbon and where to go and what to avoid. The icing on the cake was the trip to Santinis for the best gelato we ever had and I think we visited that store 4 more times while we were there. If you're going to Lisbon with kids, make sure to book a tour with Rita. PS - She also made herself available on WhatsApp for general recommendations and advice, which was a game changer when we weren't sure what to do or to go to one place vs. another.Amazing family tour - great for young kids

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful day trip to Sintra with Luis! Although we endured some rain during the first half of the day, Luis made the best of it and enabled us to enjoy all of Sintra and the surrounding area. Sofia knows and loves Sintra! She met us at our hotel and we had a wonderful day. We went to her favorite local seafood restaurant and had sea bass caught that morning. Fantastic! A storm one week before we arrived caused major damage to trees and roads, so she had to adjust the itinerary, and took us to other beautiful spots along the coast. We even got to visit a local winery and craft beer brewery. What fun! Thank you, Sofia!!Great intro to Sintra!

We loved our trip to Evora with Luis. First, Evora is a beautiful walled city with great character. The roman ruin, churches and cathedral were a great draw, but it was walking the streets and seeing the shops we loved the most. It was also wonderful to be outside of Lisbon for a day and see the countryside. Second, Luis was a terrific guide for us. From the car ride first thing in the morning until the return trip in the afternoon he was filled with information. He weaved together questions we had from other tours with new information about our visit to Evora and really helped us form a more complete picture of Evora, Lisbon and Portugal (people, places, culture and history). He is a wealth of knowledge that flows in conversations and stories and kept us engaged all day. Joao was superb, organizing a walking tour that accommodated our abilities, flexible as the time went along during the day. The following day, when we headed to Fatima, which was the key destination of our weekend tour, his car sustained some damage as we left Lisbon. This was through no fault of his own. He promptly arranged a solution (on a Sunday morning while almost everything was closed in Lisbon) to secure a rental car with no added cost to us. We managed to arrive in time for a meaningful tour at Fatima. His knowledge once there of the shrine and history was deep and profound. We still managed to see Nazare' afterward and though we did not have time for Obidos (the tour as originally offered included all three), we had a more than satisfying experience, especially at Fatima. Whether you are a believer or not, Fatima is integral to Portuguese culture and it is unlikely that anyone who goes on this tour will be unmoved by the site and people there. We are now on a wonderful 11-day cruise. The best part of the trip though will be that day with Joao.Superb, flexible

this tour was excellent :) Jeronimos Monastery is really interesting, and our guide, Luis, was insightful, informative and friendly. As part of the tour, we also got to try the local Pastéis de Belém, which were the best Portuguese tarts we had during our time in Portugal. Luis our guide was excellent. Received text giving information we're to meet outside the monastery and reminded not to forget coats and umbrellas due to expected weather. A small group there were only four of us. Luis is very knowledgeable with regards to the history of Lisbon and the monastery. Unfortunately, the church next to the monastery was closed for renovations. We then went to Belem Pastry shop to try the famous original paseis de belem which was very tasty. We were shown how they were made. Unfortunately for us, it then rained really heavily, so we got rather wet whilst viewing the Belem Tower and the Monument to the Dicoveries. However, our guide could not control the weather and made the best of the situation. Very enjoyable tour and would highly recommendExcellent tour

Ganz allgemein gesprochen, sollte man die Mittagspause zusätzlich buchen, damit man wirklich 3 Stunden Zeit für die Führung hat. Ansonsten können wir Luis wirklich sehr empfehlen und würden ihn bei einem zukünftigen Besuch in der schönen Stadt Lissabon erneut buchen. My wife and I booked an 8-hour day with Sofia for the 2nd of our 2-day stay in Sintra. Sofia met us at our hotel, we jumped in her car and off we went to learn & see as much as we could in one day. Being a Sintra native, Sofia knew the city and its environs intimately and spoke energetically as we drove. Our first stop was at the grounds of a hotel that had a wonderful overlook of the area. Leaving there, our next stop was Monseratte Palace which has extensive grounds and gardens and the Palace was a beautiful building. Unfortunately, the building was not used for many years before becoming a museum and virtually all of the furnishings were sold via auctions. We spent considerable time in the palace going from one empty room to another. And while Sofia was very knowledgeable about the Palace, there was very little to see. After a snack at the shop on the Palace grounds, we took another pretty ride to the Capuchin Convent, used by monks for centuries, but now a museum that depicted the incredible spartan life these religious men lived. It was very interesting and Sofia knew lots of things that she shared about the convent, including the many nights that she and her fellow girl scouts spent sleeping there as children. To me, this stop was was very interesting even though each room we visited was also empty. But, unlike the Palace, these empty rooms realistically portrayed the strict and hard life the monks lived. Our final stop was a very nice restaurant on the coast overlooking the beach, surfers and the coastline. With the day ending, Sofia drive us back to our hotel where we said our goodbyes. Overall, it was an enjoyable and informative day but we would have preferred to see more places rather than spending almost our entire day at the limited number of places we visited. I agreed with Sofia that the Peña Place was not worth the time because of the crowds but there are many other places in & around Sintra that I suspect are very worthwhile seeing but we never had the chance nor time. I think a better approach than seeing two places in depth would be to see a number of places, agreed upon before the tour date, so that the clients could choose those places of most interest to them. This is not to say that Sofia did a less than stellar job. She was outstanding for what we saw, but I wish we could have seen more places.A good day with Sofia

This is the second time we have toured with Joao. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and Joao's knowledge of Portugal is sweeping. We once again visited Nazare, Obidos, Batalha and Alcobaca. We were traveling with individuals with who had never visited Portugal and knew that Joao would be the right person to introduce them. The highlight of the day for me was lunch in Nazare. Joao always makes a great recommendation and I think it may have been my favorite meal of my whole trip. Will definitely work with Joao on any future exploring in Portugal.Another Great Day with Joao
