Paola is wonderful, witty and winning! Her knowledge of Rome is deep and our tour was nothing short of a history lesson with specific details at every turn. She took us to corners of the city that aren’t included in standard tours. We finished the tour @ a charming cafe with a mouth-watering gluten-free pizza that Paola recommended in response to my request. Be aware! If you are a party of one, Paola will whisk you around the city on the back of her Vespa. Otherwise, be prepared to walk a lot or, provide your own transport (we relied on taxis to go from one neighborhood to another). Thank you Paola for a perfect day in Roma! A Perfect Day

We would like to report that this tour fell far below our expectations and that very inappropriate remarks were made by the tour guide in question. Paola took us through two parts of two neighborhoods, walking very quickly and making it difficult for us to keep up. We ourselves walk quite fast, but you still want to take the time to see something, especially when it's being pointed out. She didn't wait for us and continued talking while we were out of earshot. Paola had little to tell us, aside from "look here" and "look there, a beautiful street". Occasionally she would mention a date and mostly talked about how great, old, and important Rome is, but not really why. Early in the tour, out of nowhere, Paola started talking about abortion and how the Netherlands doesn't respect her churches and faith. We didn't really react to this and just laughed it off. Later, Paola asked me if I was expecting because she thought I had a big belly. I told her "it's just breakfast" and laughed it off again. Paola asked if we had a desire for children, to which we replied that we did not. Paola reacted surprised and said, "It is your duty to have children. If you don't, all the Muslims and foreigners will come here and take over." We stood there in disbelief, and when she wanted to continue talking about it, I told her that I didn't want to discuss it here. Paola understood the message and continued with the tour, which lasted EXACTLY 1.5 hours and, as described earlier, was not really interesting. After this experience, we believe that Paola is not a suitable tour guide and would like to inform you of her inappropriate remarks.Very inappropriate and not interesting

We thoroughly enjoyed our “Kickstart Tour” with Paola! We had just arrived in Rome, and were wanting to get an overview. Paola’s tour was spot on! We started out in the pretty neighborhood of Monti and she took us on a back roads walk that the normal tours do not get to see….around every corner there was a historic site or a charming Italian view! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Simone. He walked us around Travestere and the Jewish Ghetto. We learned so much about the historical events and monuments in the areas. We had only one full day in Rome and wanted to make the most of it- and our 1.5 hour tour with Paola did just that! We are fast-paced people and she zipped us around town in the heat to see as much as we could in our short time together. She took us to a wonderful bakery in the Jewish ghetto that locals know about but we would have never visited, where we had the most delicious pizza rosa mid-morning snack for €1. Simone is a great guy! So easy to listen to , we felt at ease as soon as we met him. Starting at Trastevere, he took us around the hidden gems of Rome - away from the main attractions like the Colleseum. This was a personal tour with many facts and information.Knowing our love for football he even adapted his route to take us to the Roma shop! I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Less than 6 hours after landing in Rome, we met our guide and were off and running. Well, strolling with a new friend might be more accurate. Simone was a last minute substitute for our planned guide, who came down with bronchitis. Nonetheless, he did exactly what we hoped for--a general introduction and orientation to Rome, especially in the areas closest to our hotel--Trastevere, the Jewish neighborhood, and Campo de' Fiori. Paola was very accommodating when we needed to change the date of our tour. When we met she made sure to ask if there was anything we wanted to include (which we did - Jewish Ghetto) and she took us there when we had explored a little of Trastevere. Then onto Campo di Fiori where we picked up some tips for the bakeries. The weather was bad but the chat was good - she kept us informed and entertained throughout. Thank you Paola. Stefan is wonderful — period. This multi-lingual man loves Rome and it shows. His knowledge of the lost and little facts of this complex city equals or exceeds the big and publicly known history. We spent a wonderful couple of hours in Rome .Leonardo is obviously (and quite rightly) very proud of his city ,and happily share his extensive knowledge of its history and customs with us.When he discovered we were heading on to Sicily that evening he brought us to places that were known for granita and another place know for suppli so we could compare them with their Sicilian counterparts.In my opinion it was a one all draw I preferred Sicilian granita and the Roman suppli .Thanks Leonardo Roaming in Rome with Leonardo

My husband and I had a WONDERFUL kickstart tour with Gabrielle on 8/31/22! We had initially scheduled with Eleonora who did not feel well that day and so she gave our "With Locals" tour to Gabrielle. We could not be happier with Gabrielle! Gabrielle explained about the history of Rome and how the Pope had created an aqueduct for a better water source for Romans. Gabrielle shows us how to drink water in Rome like a local. Gabrielle outlined various landmarks and how to tell where you are by reading the street signs. This was very helpful because there are 10 districts in Rome. Gabrielle pointed out where to have a drink and where to have a meal and drinks. I highly recommend this Kickstart Tour In Rome! Knowing how to get around Rome and what is a good place to eat ---and what is maybe not a good place to eat is very helpful. We arrived in Rome just a few hours prior to our kickstart tour with Leonardo. It was the perfect way to start our 5 day adventure! The meeting place was easy to find and Leonardo was quick to correspond via text messages. He showed us a few wonderful sights nearby in the Trastevere neighborhood that we would have overlooked had we been on our own. And then we continued on across the bridge to other sights and beautiful piazza’s as he shared his local knowledge and love of his beautiful city.
