Linda was an excellent tour guide. She is very responsive before the tour via text. Happy to answer all of our questions and met us at the cruise ship gate. Her English was perfect. She was kind and knowledgeable. She really made us feel welcomed to her home city. We learned a lot, which made everything more interesting. “Dub” was wonderful. We visited only local authenticate places and had the opportunity to taste them all. Along the way we learned a little about the history of the city and heard stories about how her mother would cook the same things we were trying. We communicated with Dubravka prior to taking our walking food tour so our meeting place was convenient for all of us. She knew exactly where to take us to sample “local food” and ignored any of the touristy places or places with long lines. As she had a plan of where we were to go, there wasn’t any wasted time. We were well received at each stop and she knew exactly what to order for us and gave us the history of each food we sampled or the background of the owners. There was a diversity in our stops - different street foods, drinks, sit-down family-style charcuterie and chocolates! It wasn’t just about the food. She also had historical stories for us as we walked around the palace. There wasn’t a street we walked down where another tour guide or restaurant owner didn’t stop and say hello to her. She went out of her way to give us restaurant recommendations in Split and Hvar and helped us with gifts for our grandchildren. Even after our tour, she continued to follow up with us to make sure we arrived at our next location safely! Touring with Dubravka will be a highlight of our trip! We know that we not only spent time with a tour guide, but made a new friend that we hope will visit us in California so we can introduce her to our home!! LOVED touring with Dubravka!!

They answered every question with detail and enthusiasm, making the experience feel both personal and enriching. The food journey started at a bustling local market where we sampled dried and sweetened orange rind—an unexpectedly delightful treat. Linda was the consummate professional before, during and after our tour. She made sure to address our wishes right from the beginning of the tour. She obviously knew all the relevant history, but the best part was how it was delivered. She told so many stories and those tend to stick better rather than just dates and facts. She knew exactly where she wanted to take us, so we were not wandering around aimlessly. As we explored the palace inside and out, she also pointed out places to eat and shop. She had stories or reasons to go to these shops and restaurants as well, which helped in our later decisions of where to buy unique gifts and eat amazing food. Linda also had input about our next stop and we will be sure to follow her suggestions again. She knew where all the best places to take photos were and took many for us as well. "Dube" was wonderful. We have done a few of these Taste of... tours in various cities; this one was special. The food was varied and delicious and Dube took the time to dive into the history and sites of the palace. At the end, she asked what our itinerary was for the rest of our trip to Croatia and when we got back to the hotel she had sent me detailed suggestions for each of our next stops and invited us to contact her if we ran into any problems traveling or just had questions. Dubravka (Dubi) sure knows Split! Our party of eight adults booked her for the hidden secrets tour and we are so glad we did! Dubi had many, often hilarious, anecdotes about living here as a child and how Split has evolved throughout her lifetime. She took us from the ancient history of the area to modern times in a fun and engaging manner. Dubravka was an amazing guide!! She was super responsive (even though we booked the night before) and it was easy to link up the next morning. My group had a wonderful time walking around, learning the history of Split and trying a lot of local food. Dubravka made sure there was plenty of diversity in the food. Josko was amazing! Our friend recommended him and we were not disappointed. It was very easy to arrange a time to meet him (over WhatsApp). He was on time and accommodated that we were running a little bit late. He was very conscious of the hot weather and made sure we were always in the shade. He was super nice and funny and had great historical anecdotes and pointed out lots of architectural features we would have otherwise missed. He gave us great recommendations for around town, too. And we loved the history he shared, it reignited our interest in the Roman Empire. We would 1000% recommend him to any of our friends visiting from the US!!!Amazing tour by Joško

We have done several of these 10 tastes tours in different countries. This was by far the least organized. We spent most of the time at a cafe where Debora had brought items from the grocery store or bakery near her home. We then walked through a market (without sampling anything), then walked around town reading menus (again without eating), and finally stopped for a sandwich which was very good. This was extremely poor value for the price and overall a very bad tour. With that said, Debora is a very nice person with a lovely personality. I had a sense she had never led this particular tour.Unstructured and Not 10 Tastes!

Joško Zović was a phenomenal guide. He is engaging, informative and full of interesting facts. The tour was 2 hours and the time flew by. A group of 4 of us did a walking tour with Josko Zovic and all agreed that the tour was the highlight of our visit to Split. Josko's guidance through the palace and well-paced review of the history helped us visualize the palace during it's prime, and gave us an understanding of the political and religious influences. He pointed out Roman architectural detail that we would not have appreciated without a guide. A favorite spot in the tour was in the People's Square, which Josko called "Time Square", with Greek, Roman, Mideviel, and Soviet architecture all coexisting in one location. Dubravka begann die Tour an einem Aussichtspunkt, von der wir einen guten Überblick die Stadt hatten und gab bei dieser Gelegenheit auch eine Übersicht über die Entwicklung der Stadt und das Umland. Anschließend gingen wir zu einem gut geplanten Rundgang durch die Stadt. Dubravka hatte an jedem Ort aus ihrem großen Wissensschatz zu den Hintergründen und Geschichte erzählt. Dabei langweilte sie nicht mit Fakten, sondern legte den Schwerpunkt auf geschichtliche Zusammenhänge und Hintergründe für die Entwicklung der Stadt. Der Rundgang endete mit einer Verkostung einer lokalen Süßigkeit und einen gemütlichen Plausch in einem Kaffee. Da wir außerhalb der Saison unterwegs waren hatten wir genug Zeit an den einzelnen Lokationen. Dubravka ist eine charmante Führerin, die Geschichte Splits und Dalmatiens lebendig vermittelt.Kurzweilige und interessante Stadtführung

Darko gave us a wonderful tour of the caves, which is highly recommended and not accessible by the bus tours. We almost had the caves to ourselves and it was breathtaking and so serene. Dubravka was an excellent guide—knowledgeable and fun to be with! She led our small group through the historical Diocletian Palace. We ate local fare from cafes dating back to Year 400. We may not have seen how alive the Palace becomes at night had we not toured with Dubravka. Food, drink, and candies were excellent at 5 various spots inside and outside the Palace. This was much more than a food tour! Right from the start Dubravka shared really interesting information about the history of Split as well as modern day life. We loved all of her stories and had a great time exploring the Old Town. The food itself was all delicious and there was plenty of it! We tasted such a good variety of things and from amazing local spots that we probably wouldn't have found on our own. To top it all off, the recommendations for the rest of our trip were really thoughtful and helpful. Can't recommend this tour with Dubravka highly enough! Wonderful, informative and delicious!

De tour hadden we veel meer van verwacht. Voor het grote bedrag wat we hebben betaald waren we niet 3 uur maar 2 uur bezig. Hij was veel sneller klaar. Daarnaast was het niet 10 verschillende hapjes en of drankjes die we hebben gehad, maar minder. En maar 1 drankje en voor de rest wat hapjes, waarvan er ook een stukje chocola bij zat. Wij hadden hele andere verwachtingen bij dit bedrag. Darko kan leuk vertellen dat wel, maar wij hadden het gevoel dat er meer inzat voor zo’n groot bedrag en dat nu niet is geleverd.
