Alessandro was an amazing host in Verona. He met us close to our rental and took us through all the highlights of the city. It was hot but we didn’t mind because the history and beauty of the city came to life. He gave us great tips for dinner and we had the most amazing ice cream in the world!! We even got to see the best tortellini maker in the world - who is his friend. We are so glad we made a stop in Verona! We will be back!!We love Verona!!

Alessandro came up with a fantastic personalised tour of Monte Baldo and its beautiful forests and mountain scenery and then we went along the shoreline of Lake Garda. Starting at the dramatically beautiful north end of the lake, down to the more popular and picturesque southern villages. He was informative and friendly and knew the best views, gelato stops, prettiest towns and food spots along the way. Maria Pia had to change our tour time due to an unexpected traffic accident to a colleague. But she accommodated us with an earlier time. The colleague hopefully will make a full recovery. Maria Pia took account that we were a mixed aged group of 5 people from 80 to 11! So she made it interesting for the teenagers and the 11 year old and even the old cynic!! My goodness, what an experience. First, our guide is the utmost of professionals- she was ill but rather then make us worry, or cancel she found an amazing guide to take her place. Francesco texted us and met us promptly at the Arena. He found tidbits of information that were so interesting and kept the children thoroughly engaged. Wir hatten die Tour „Kickstart Verona“ ursprünglich mit Fabio Massimo gebucht. Eine Woche vorher hat man uns informiert, dass statt Fabio nun Maria Pia die Tour durchführen würde. Also erwarteten wir sie am vereinbarten Treffpunkt. Stattdessen sprach uns dann eine junge Frau namens Maria an und erklärte ohne Angabe von Gründen, dass sie die Tour für Maria Pia übernehme. Sie war sehr freundlich und wusste auch einiges zu erzählen, aber wirkte insgesamt unvorbereitet und so liefen wir etwas planlos herum. Die Tour hatte nur wenig mit der Beschreibung zu tun und war für uns für den bezahlten Preis enttäuschend. Leider nicht so toll

Francesco was warm, friendly, engaging with a huge depth of knowledge of the history and culture of Verona. He was able to make a small group tour interesting for adults and teenagers alike. He even managed to take in his stride our late arrival by 10 mins due to a parking problem we had when we arrived in the city. I would definitely recommend this tour. We were looking forward to experiencing the local food culture of Verona, but unfortunately, this tour didn’t quite meet our expectations. While our guide, Alessandro, was kind and personable, the tour felt more like a general walk through the city’s history rather than a curated culinary experience. The tastings were limited—just gelato, pizza, affogato, and a small wine sample—far fewer than the 10 tastings we were expecting. Additionally, it didn’t feel like the stops were pre-planned or coordinated with the food venues, which took away from the sense of a well-organized experience. We’ve done food tours in other cities that felt more immersive and thoughtfully put together, with a stronger focus on local specialties. While Verona is a beautiful city with so much to offer, we were hoping for a deeper dive into its unique food culture. With some adjustments and more attention to the culinary aspect, this tour could become a great experience. If you are considering it, do it! Alessandro was a fantastic guide, full of knowledge about the local area and food. Often sharing where he would go and what he would eat - great recommendations! We spent three hours with Alessandro on one of the hottest days of the year so far. The Affogatos were a great way to start the tour. We loved the tapas style lunch and local wines and oils to try. Gelatos, cannoli, granitas all appreciated too! All the information related to historical Verona through the ages and how it has become the beautiful, eclectic city it is now. Never rushed, Alessandro became part of our group of 6 walking around the city. He tailored the food and tour to our questions, likes and requests … but also added far more than we expected! We were fortunate to book a tour of Verona with Alessandro recently. Him being born and raised in Verona provided us with an intimate glimpse into what Verona is all about. Having studied and worked in the US his command of the English language was perfect. At every turn of the tour he provided fascinating information regarding our next encounter, such as the meaning of the crenels on bridges and buildings. he also made sure we were introduced to the local food. We chose affogato and bruschetta and his choices of where to go and enjoy it was "perfecto". Alessandro was very informative and yet down to earth and relatable.
