Ruairi was an amazing guide for our pub crawl tour of Dublin. The history and knowledge of the pubs and of Dublin and Ireland was incredible. We have travelled extensively around the world and have done several tours he is probably one of the best we have ever had. If you get a chance to book a tour with him do it, you will love it!!!

The Classic Irish Pub Tour with Derek was a nice way to end our visit to Ireland. The first pub had a trio playing traditional Irish music. The next two pubs had guitarists singing Irish folk songs. I chose a different brand of beer in each pub. We got along well with Derek and enjoyed his choice of pubs. My wife surprisingly heard and sang along to a song she learned at summer camp 60 years ago. Without Derek as a guide, I doubt we would have enjoyed our last night in Ireland like we did.Great evening of drinks and music

Derek was v well informed on styles of Irish music and assured I would hear a nice selection of several, along with a variety of local beer.
We visited 3 pubs w/traditional Irish music; rebel music; and an “open mic” venue with an impressive guitar player and a Leprechaun-like musician who played banjo, ukulele, harmonica, and a slide whistle…a genius duo.
Derek explained the stories behind some songs/pieces, and shared his background, education, and family status. He provided an engaging and really fun experience, and I highly recommend him if you want to enjoy a major part of Dublin life. He made the event special.Great fun, beer and Irish Music.

My husband and I brought my mother to Ireland for a two week trip and she said that the trad music pub crawl with Derek was her favorite activity of the trip. Derek was thoughtful in picking pubs and great and finding trad music in a city full of pubs with musicians. He was knowledgeable about the area and we had such a wonderful time chatting with him and enjoying the music. A wonderful night in Dublin

We had a great time visiting a few pubs with Rian! We had told him we would like to hear some traditional Irish music and he took us to several places each with musicians performing in a different style and each pub with a different atmosphere. The music was fantastic and Rian has great local stories and some hilarious ones about his dad (sorry Ruairi:)). He taught us how to pour and drink Guinness properly and some very interesting things about the Galic language.I would highly recommend booking with Rian!Great pub crawl with Rian!

Derek was a pleasant enough guy. Totally unorganized and flying by the seat of his pants. I have mobility issues and he did not allow for that in his planning. (Actually I don’t think he planned anything.). A lot of money for what we got. Would not recommend. Like I said he was a pleasant enough guy but that was it.Dissappointing

Ruairi was not able to do the tour, so his son Rian, took his place. And being 2 baby boomers, it was fun and refreshing to see Dublin thru the eyes of this 6th generation Z'er! he did a fabulous job and mixed the history with a fresh take on the future outlook for Dublin. Derek took us to some iconic pubs for live music - some traditional and some more contemporary. One pub was really packed due to it being a holiday weekend but our last pub had a great band, busy but not over-stuffed, and just was really fun. Derek dealt with the drink orders and filled us in on pub customs, song titles, and introduced us to fancy crisps!Great pubs with great host

Our evening with Ruairi was everything and more than I hoped it would be. And he went above and beyond. First, he send us a list of some recommended sights before we even met up. We signed up for the Classic Irish Pub Tour with Ruairi hoping to get a little background on Irish music with the opportunity to enjoy it in some classic pubs. While that is certainly what we received, with Ruairi, we got so much more. Ruairi is a true Dubliner and really provided a complete and detailed background of the city that was both interesting and fun. Leading us through different parts of Dublin, he informed us about the city's history, geography, art, culture and even told us a few ghost stories. My wife and I really appreciated how knowledgable Ruairi was about so many different aspects of Irish life and how willing he was to share some great anecdotes highlighting his own experiences.
While I certainly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to sample Irish music while enjoying a Guinness and Irish Stew, I really recommend taking this tour with Ruairi if you are looking for a well-rounded insightful night of Irish culture.So Much More!

So obviously automated request for review since I never went on tour. All travel was restricted all tours were cancelled. With Locals was the only one that outright refused to refund my money. So they are getting paid for a lot of tours that are never taking place. I travel a fair amount and will never book again with locals. I will add this review to other sites.Not Nappy at all

Fiona was right on time and dressed as advertised! Singer, actress, entrepreneur... she is enthusiastic in everything she does! We liked the pubs she took us to very much and we enjoyed a very nice meal together. In one of the pubs I even noticed she was singing along! Fiona told us about history of Ireland, Dublin, remarkable people and their songs and even about ghosts... highly recommended!!Enthusiastic singing Fiona!

I had the pleasure of being on Ciarán's first tour through WithLocals and it was an absolute pleasure. It was a one-on-one tour and I had asked him to take me to the local pubs where tourists don't usually come and he definitely delivered. We visited several places, one with music, one for dinner and ended the evening at a quiet place so we could chat about Dublin's rich history, beer and other places and experiences he would suggest as a local. I'm actually writing this review on a train coming back from one of his suggestions. I wholeheartedly recommend spending one of you evenings in Dublin with Ciarán. You will not regret it. Pliny is a wonder host and guide! We wandered the streets and bars, drank and ate, and had a great time talking about being foreigners in our current home countries which was really nice! We started the evening a little early and didn’t get music until the end of the night, but that was ok cause it was the most amazing bar! 8+ musicians erupting in unscripted music was such a highlight! Pliny is a passionate music lover and practitioner and is a great host to have on this excursion!

Ruairi was an immense tour guide who told us some interesting facts about Dublin and showed us some great places to go to on our trip. The communication prior to the tour was great and gave us plenty of tips about visiting the city. He made sure we were happy with the food we were going to eat and kept us laughing the whole tour.
