Michail greeted our group of 4 and escorted us to his 6th floor apartment. We spent the evening on his oversized deck, decorated in a bohemian fashion with lots of plants, lovely lighting and creative decor, with a stunning view of the Acropolis. We heard his two dogs and invited them to join us on the deck. They were adorable and quite entertaining. We had requested a vegetarian menu and he was happy to accommodate us. There was a large table on the deck with 4 workstations and he showed us how to prepare tzatziki with his Mom’s homemade yogurt which made the best tzatziki that I have ever had! We then started preparing the filling for the stuffed eggplant which incorporated his Mom’s homemade feta. He had cooked the eggplant inside and we filled them. He served us some of the best white Greek wine I have ever had. We enjoyed that and a huge plate of appetizers enjoying the view while he baked the stuffed eggplants and converted the table to a beautiful dining location. He served us the dishes we prepared and we enjoyed them while viewing the Acropolis which was now lit at night. We finished with a dessert of yogurt and some fruit which was really good. Michail is genuinely passionate about his cooking and making the experience exceptional. All the cooking and eating is on his porch on the 6th floor overlooking Athens in a compact European apartment setting. He has a heater and the weather was fantastic. With the freshest ingredients and his skill, he can make magic with minimal cooking space. He sourced many of his ingredients from his family’s island farm and personalized the menu for healthy eating with lots of vegetables. It was a fantastic meal and experience! You are purchasing an experience. That experience is made up not just of the food and the view (which are superb) but also the people involved. You will not be disappointed. Michail and his team are truly amazing. The conversation was lively. My family (including kids 12 and 14) had a blast and they can be critical and sometimes hard to please. Michail was quick to accommodate my kids' newfound pickiness towards certain ingredients - way to pivot on the spot! What shines from the experience is that Michail puts his heart and soul into making sure that you are happy. We had fun, great photos, a delicious dinner and a marvelous experience. I will recommend this to all of my friends who come to Athens. Note - the location may seem a bit odd from the ground floor if you are not from the area. We had our taxi drop us off at the location and used the app to let him know we were there and he brought us right up. The whole experience is uniquely Athens.Michail is the best!

My son gave me this experience for a Christmas present. Once in the apartment we looked out over Athens from a beautiful balcony and watched the sunset. Then we made dinner that was delicious. The guys set a beautiful table and we all talked and ate. Then we were sent home with leftovers along with some Homegrown oregano. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys cooking and Greek food. Bonus if you like dogs… they have two small well behaved girls. Beautiful views/Great food

The evening was an unexpected experience - on both sides - food and kindness of Michail and Nichos. The menu was incredibly tasty especially the zucchini balls! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Athens, whether or not you love to cook! Michail and Nicholas were so much fun to hang out with and it was so neat to hear about food and life in Greece from locals who grew up there. We had the most delightful evening with Michail. He was so full of life and clearly loved his work, which was plain to see. He easily accommodated our vegetarian needs and we will definitely be cooking the same meal (with the handy recipe booklet he gave us) when we get back home. We were 4 friends who booked a cooking course with Michail - and we had a gread evening. Michail told and showed us everything about the dishes and was very flexible in changing the dishes for vegetarians. Michail and Maria were superb hosts. Not only the food was exquisite, but they also tailored it to our tastes. We ate and drank several produce and delicacies from his parent's house and island. The ingredients were fresh and delicious: the olive oil, the oregano, the honey, the feta cheese, the vegetables, and the list goes on. The location had one of the best views of Athens . While Michail worked tirelessly to provide us with a top notch meal, he kept on giving us the tips and different choices if we wanted to tweak the recipes later on. The recipes were given in a well presented booklet. Meanwhile Maria was making sure that we were feeling constantly at home, well fed and with full glasses throughout the whole experience. Even our kids loved the cooking. They ate several foods they often rejected before, as the experience of cooking the food made it that more appealing. The best meal I had in Athens!Probably my favorite tour!

Michail is a very passionate chef who made us a marvelous dinner at his home. We were served on a garden patio on the sixth floor of his building that had a marvelous view of the Parthenon and the rest of Athens. The dinner started with a nice greek white wine and a fava bean hummus with bread, and progressed to the main course of sea bream fish served with potatoes and vegetables. All four courses were cooked to perfection and lightly seasoned. And of course to top it all off we had a simple but elegant dessert of greek yogurt with honey from his cousins hives. Michail is growing spices, olives and banana trees on his garden patio. He is very passionate about cooking and gardening and is very enthusiastic when he talks about both subjects. I cannot say enough great things about this experience. We originally booked the seafood dinner, but decided to switch to Michail's other offering- the cooking class. He was so friendly and extremely accommodating in making the change for us. From the moment we arrived, Michail was the perfect host- bringing us up to his beautiful terrace and offering us water and a glass of wine. Then, once we were settled, he immediately put us to work- chopping, grating and slicing a beautiful array of fresh produce for our meal- from our individual work stations overlooking the most beautiful view of Athens. He carefully explained every step, while sharing interesting details about his home and family, his culture, and the fresh ingredients we were using from his family and farm. Every dish we prepared together was absolutely fantastic and plentiful. Traveling with my sister and niece, this experience created wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. We were so excited to meet a local greek chef and spend time in his home. We envisioned great conversation, laughter, interesting stories of local life and local food. First off do not trust Google maps. It was not accurate finding this address. Even the taxi company dropped us off a block away and was not sure where the building was. The address is marked once you find it, and Michail walked to meet us to take us up to his terrace. By the way the terrace is all you will see, and at 5 p.m. it is very, very hot. He was dressed in an old t-shirt and cut off shorts, unlike all the pictures on the get-your-guide site. We were offered water and then he disappeared into his home leaving us on the terrace. The only entertainment was his small dog, Alba. No music, no conversation. He would pop out occasionally to offer a glass of wine or ask how we were doing. Over an hour later first course was served. The food was good, similar to restaurants we dined at while in Athens. Presentation was beautiful. Ample amounts of food. We were disappointed based off other reviews that mentioned a cohost and entertaining conversation etc. He seemed to be more of a waiter/server than a host/chef. Overall not worth the price the paid.Wanted to love this experience

Michail is the superb host! My initial reservation was for 2, but when 3 friends wanted to join, Michael graciously reopened reservation to include us all. From the moment we rang his well labeled bell, til he saw us out the door hours later, he was welcoming, gracious, informative, fun and generous. Panoramic view through sunset and lighting of Parthenon was a great backdrop . Food was delicious and abundant. My fave was the mussels steamed in sea water, but the fish- deboned expertly at the table- was also a huge hit. Surprise dessert substitution was fabulous- Greek yoghurt with honey from his family farm! Sublime and perfect ending to a wonderful evening. Athens hospitality at its best!

The balcony is charming with great view and a variety of herbs. Dinner was like a friend inviting you over, except your friend is a professional chef. Can’t say enough about how wonderful was this experience. We had a fabulous homemade meal at a location looking out at the Parthenon. There were six of us who visited Michail and his friend, Nikos. When we arrived, Nikos was waiting for us out in front of the building so we were easily able to find the address. We went up to a rooftop apartment with a beautifully set table outside with a gorgeous view of Athens. Our hosts were very charming and the food was delicious and filling. The menu included fava with onions, calamari, gilt-headed bream, greek salad, bread with fresh olive oil and tzatziki. Our favorite above all were the anchovies, marinated by Michail. We were sorry to see the evening end. Our foodie friends said that the evening was a "10", the highlight of our time in Athens.Lovely evening

We were greeted by Nikko- our chefs right hand man and shown to the terrace- our table was beautifully and simply set and we were faced with a dramatic sunset over a perfect panoramic view of Athens. While Mickial cooked he shared with us that his recipes were from his Mom and Grandmom- and the fish came from his Dad who is a fisherman. We had a lovely chick pea dip- fresh crisp greek salad with his personal small batch extra virgin olive oil. What followed was marinated fresh sardines, mussels, squid and charcoal grilled sea bream filleted at the table with simply prepared fresh veggies. One bite was more brilliant than the next. They served generous pours of a nice local wine that complimented our outstanding dinner At the end- halva and ice cream... With all that we were full but comfortable. Throughout we had interesting conversation and even assistance from Nikko who is a local guide ( not looking for work- just being helpful) This evening was probably our best. It was relaxing- unrushed- absolutely delish I cannot tell you enough times or enough ways to book it!!!!Absolute perfection

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Greece. Michael was an amazing chef. I had a special request as one person in our group did not like seafood and he accommodated that request....and we asked for a lesson in Making baklava. He went out of his way to make sure that all of our requests were accommodated. The food was simply fantastic. Nico was helpful in answering all of our questions about Greece and kept the conversation lively. We did have difficulty finding the meeting point… But it was not their fault. Make sure you clarify on the website where the meeting point is as it was not clear. Michael helped us figure it out and work through the problem and they were going to let tour with locals know..... It was a fantastic evening and would highly recommend it to anyone.Excellent first Greek meal

Dinner at the home of Michail was the highlight of our 3 days in Athens.Michail is a very talented chef and a very warm and welcoming host. We wanted to experience true,authentic Greek cuisine and our dinner surpassed all expectations.Each dish was presented beautifully and with an explanation of what we were about to experience. The balcony setting of his apartment was the "icing on the cake." We watched the lights of Athens and watched as the Acropolis began to be spotlit in a dramatic fashion.
