We had an excellent tour in Porto with Joao, who has a huge knowledge about local artists in Street Art. Joao mainly focussed on local artists and it was a real pleasure to discover many little art works we would not have seen without him :-)) After the walk we continued spotting further works from the artists Joao talked about :-) He gave us interesting recommendations where to find more Street Art works which was really nice. It was our first morning in Porto so a great introduction to the city through the street art and decor. A relaxed pace and Joao was very knowledgeable about what he was showing us. Excellent English and as a native to the city he was enthusiastic about showing us his city. Most enjoyable and would recommend it.

It was great learning about some of the art and artists in Porto on the tour, then recognizing the same artist’s pieces in Lisbon while walking around! Joao is passionate about street art and takes pleasure in sharing insights into its place in Porto life. A different way to see the city that suited teenagers and adults alike. Spent a pleasurable few hours with Joao guiding us around street art in Porto. He was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about his home city and the art that has been created in the streets. Personally we preferred the larger murals and would have liked to have seen more of them. The small pieces made from tiles and tiny posters weren’t really our thing but none the less interesting as I think we would have just passed them by without even noticing them had they not been pointed out to us. It would have been good to see and hear more details about some of the famous art installations eg the rabbit in Gaia as well…..but there’s so much to see that we appreciate not everything can be covered. We did the tour with Jaoa with the 3 of us. For our son, 10 years old, it was less of his interest, but that was expected and not Jaoa to blame. As adults, with no art background, we were very much impressed by his deeper knowledge and meanings of the art he showed us. We saw so many which we would have overlooked ourselfs in the streets. His english was perfect. We experienced it as a very nice way to meet and to know Porto as tourists from a different angle. We highly recommend it and especially when it's done by Jaoa!Great

We loved our street art tour with João. It was fun and fascinating and we learned a ton. João is truly an expert on Porto's street art scene. He is highly immersed in the community and cares deeply about it. He showed us not only the most famous murals, but many of the newer and smaller amd more interesting projects. We've done other street art tours in other cities led by tour guides instead of arts professionals and they were good. But João takes this to a higher level.
