It was a wonderful way to get oriented and try some great food. Tomas was very personable and great at answering all questions and really knew where to get great food. Tried one of his recommendations for dinner the next night and it was wonderful. It can be a bit intimidating knowing where to start when exploring a new food culture, and this was a perfect way to jump in and it's been great exploring. Great experience!

Theres no better way to experience a city than to be eating while doing it. Tomas was great and captured the essence of the city so well. The food we tried was fantastic and i went again for seconds. My husband, 17 year old son and I took this tour with RK. He was fun, very nice and let us take our time. We shared brava potatoes, a can of muscles, and each had 2 tapas. The first venue we had Vermoth (very good), and the 2nd place we had a beer. The 3rd place had no seating- so we stood and did not have a drink. It was more hors-d'ouevre since we went out to dinner after the tour. Rk also gave a list of good places to check out during our vacation. - CheersGreat tour. We loved RK.

Our tour with Sebastian was a highlight of our time in Barcelona. Sebastian is communicative and forthright with ideas we hadn't considered. He was adept in quickly getting us in and out of venues, even when lines seemed impossibly long to navigate. He is passionate about living life and of Barcelona and that clearly comes through in the tour. He loves history and shared many stories and pointed out and explained things we had walked by earlier in our visit and hadn't even noticed. He is very personable and answered all of our questions and even shared his list of favorite restaurants in the area. Only two stops. The food was mediocre at best. Done in barely an hour and the host acted like he wanted to be anywhere but with us. This is the first time I ever tried withlocals, and I will never use this company again. I will tell all my friends, famiyand colleagues to avoid it like the plague. Extremely disappointed. We booked two tours. Culinary Kickstart: According to the description we were to have 6 tastings including vermut and patatas bravas. Our food stops were mostly in Boqueria Market, including juice, a cone of ham, one empanada; then two pieces of churro and a store sample of fudge. We stopped for coffee and WE paid (including our guide’s). Sites that were listed that we did NOT visit were Café Catalina, Sant Pere and Placa de Sant Jaume. Highlights and Hidden Gems: “Behind every landmark there’s a story” is the website says. Tomas’ story was “isn’t it well preserved”. We went back to Palau Guell, there was a tour guide there and she was telling wonderful facts. All we did was walk the Gothic Quarter, over and over and over the same streets. We finally told him to stop. Nice guy, bad tours.Promises Unfulled

Really enjoyed this tour! We first went to the market and tried some traditional tapas. After this we walked around the city and Marcel talked us through some of the history of the city and took us to some hidden gems. We also really appreciated the food and activity recommendations he gave us at the end of the tour. Overall we’d definitely recommend this tour and Marcel as a guide. Liliia was very nice and is knowledgeable about art, but in the two-hour Culinary Kickstart tour, we learned very little about food or the history of the city. Our family usually learns so much from private tours, but not this one. She took us to three places (pinchos bar, candy shop, churros/chocolate cafe) we could easily find on our own and gave virtually no description of the food or culture. I've never experienced such long stretches of silence from a guide. It was very awkward, like she was babysitting us instead of being a tour guide. Worse yet, it was our first day in Barcelona, and she had us spend much of the tour walking in a nondescript, non-historical area of the city (along Av. Paral-lel by the Apollo theatre), and not the stops listed in the tour's description. It was like she took us to the places she liked personally, but didn't consider what the tour was supposed to be or what tourists to a new city would want to see and learn. What a great way to see Barcelona for the first time! Hannah was a wonderful guide, selecting the places to see and things to eat and drink based on our needs (vegetarian, no seafood). Elvira is a really talented guide, very easy going and open minded. She adapted the tour completely to our needs and wishes, and took into consideration allergies and food preferences. Maybe there was a confusion, but the web site stated this was a food tour. It ended up being a two hour walking tour with a food stop here and there added. Tomas was great and a wealth of history and knowledge. However, the website mentioned the tour would include at least 6 food stops and I think a drink or two (vermouth and something else). We didn't get any of those drinks and only had three food stops, unless you could stopping in a candy store and trying out some free samples! I don't count that as a food stop so I saw it as three stops. Also, the web site mentioned that the food tour could be customized to the clients requests. I told Tomas multiple times that I did not like sweets. One of the three stops, 2 of the 4 if you could the candy store, were ALL about sweets. So as a food tour this was below grade. As a walking tour and history of Barcelona and walking into areas I would have never found myself, it was wonderful. Just not what I was expecting.A good walking tour!

He was punctual and friendly. Definitely knew his way around the Gothic Quarter and El Born. Unfortunately in August, Santa Caterina market was closed so that took away from our tour. Also the price per person if traveling solo (no his fault) is just outrageous. I would suggest he offers to pair solo travelers to a group unless they specifically realest to be by themselves.
