Matteo was a phenomenal guide. He had in-depth knowledge on the city, showed us delicious and unique food spots, and was very attentive to both dietary and allergy restrictions. Host was nice but the tour was lacking consistently on the vegetarian tapas options. Per description we expected 6 local tastings. We had 3 ( tortilla, plain olives , queso manchego). In addition the host showed us Torrons Vicens, a chocolate place that offers samples to anyone visiting. One of us didn’t drink alcohol, the two cocktails offered weren’t replaced in more food options either sadly. Overall not vegetarian friendly and poor price value. Not vegetarian friendly

Maria is a fun and energetic guide which my family which includes 12 and 10 year old girls love so much. She understands that my girls couldn’t drink alcohol and would add an orange juice stop for them. My family and I really enjoyed the history and background of Spanish tapas. It was a lovely tour and amazing experience with Majo. We originally had her booking a bit earlier but due to complications that weren't anyone's fault, she reached out in a timely manner if it could start an hour later. Not a problem. She showed us around the neighborhood, a lot of history and art work that spanned back to the 17th century, and her funny sense of humor. It was such a fun time with her, I highly recommend.

Booked the Explore the Reina Sofia with a Local Guide somewhat last minute (as it was raining) and so glad we did. Eva was a wonderful guide. She definitely knows her art and history and took us all through the garden and museum. She was passionate about the pieces we saw and we appreciated her perspective! Yulia was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G-! We met around 9:30 AM and set about on a brisk morning walk to kickstart our tour. Having hit many of the "must see" sights already, we were looking for a unique experience to fully immerse us into the local culture and 'off the beaten path' sights. Yulia 100% met our expectations and even delivered beyond. Her historical knowledge was on point, not to mention her knowledge on fun facts, neighborhoods, diversity, local customs, etc. We learned so much today of a 'behind the scenes' view. We asked many questions and Yulia indulged us each and every time. We definitely recommend the tour as you will be exposed to an experience that the locals live on a daily basis. We covered many miles in walking, so wear comfortable shoes! We really appreciated the coffee break to rest our feet and to chat comfortably over coffee, tea and beer. We did have a hiccup in our meeting point which we assume responsibility for as we should have abided by the confirmation note in WhatsApp vs. the booking details in withlocals.com. Majo (Maria Jose) was pure joy and a beautiful welcome to Madrid for our first time in the city! Her communications leading up to our meeting were timely, the meeting location was discovered with ease, and her promptness of arrival was appreciated. From the moment we met Majo, we felt like family, especially after being greeted with a warm and welcoming hug. The tour highlights were wonderful learning a lot about hot spots of the city. My husband and I soaked up the history of the Monarchy of Madrid, the gastronomy culture, and were pleasantly surprised that we were able to attend 7pm mass at The Cathedral immediately following our tour. Ari was wonderful.
