We had a great tour with Teresa, we went to the market, some grocery shops and some small cafes. The food we had was awesome and not normally things we would have tried. Teresa was great at explaining the food, the areas and what we should look out for. We did a walking food tour with Vera through the beautiful streets of Porto. We started at the Minerva sardine house. I used to think sardines were ok ,Vera has changed my mind now I can't get enough of them The wine we were served and the foods we were presented with were amazing. Theresa met me at my hotel & we set off to see the sights & buildings I had expressed an interest in. Theresa was good company and knowledgeable. During her guided walk she gave a concise account of the history - I complemented her on her ability to make her talk relevant & to the point. She knew that I had wanted to use her tour as a familiarising myself with Porto walk. She achieved her aim as today I set off myself to explore & as a result of her guided walk yesterday I found my way around At the end of our walk along the river She kindly walked me to The Funicular so that I could make my way back to my hotel without having to walk uphill. I would recommend Theresa’s tour as she is intelligent and articulate & good company. Amazing walk around The City

Joana was kind and accommodating, but felt inexperienced and unprepared as a tour guide. She didn't secure tickets to the bookstore -- a highlight of the tour we chose -- which she explained upfront was due to them being sold out and apologized. But sufficient forward planning would have made it relatively easy to have purchased them. This mishap seemed to throw her a bit, and the tour felt disorganized and unclear as to what the plan was. She did try to recover, gave us some thoughtful anecdotes and engaged effectively with our young kids for portions, but although it was overall nice to meet her and hear her story we couldn't reccomend her fully as a tour guide based on our experience. A dissapointing tour

More than giving us just a taste of food Porto’s food, João also taught us a little about its history and the significance of its important landmarks. I only wish that at the Mercado do Bolhão instead of having us sit at a table while he got us food he’d taken us along to the food stalls so we would learn which vendors he favored. Teresa led us on a very enjoyable private tour. She was extremely knowledgeable and informative about the history of Porto, the local architecture, the artwork in the churches, and the underlying social forces. As part of the tour, she took us to a beautiful monastery where we got to sit in a private sitting area and sample baked goods and sweet wine made by the monks there. She was also a delight to spend several hours with. If you’re a cat lover (Porto has lots of cats), you’ll have a lot in common with Teresa. Onze verwachting matchte niet met onze ervaring. De prijs was € 58 p/p: dat vonden wij, achteraf, veel te veel geld voor het gebodene. We gingen namelijk naar locale winkeltjes en kregen daar wat dingetjes te proeven, die we zelf als locale toerist, zonder gids, ook hadden kunnen krijgen. Zeer summier en de prijs niet waard en commercieel. Je kunt beter zelf een tour uitzetten en ergens lekker gaan eten. Verder viel ons op dat de gids regelmatig op haar telefoon zat en tussendoor privézaken regelde en in 1 restaurantje zelf ging zitten eten, terwijl wij 1 zeer klein hapje kregen. We raden aan dat bij volgende tours niet meer te doen. Al met al een ervaring die we zeker niet meer zouden herhalen. Veel te duur voor het gebodene.Weinig voor veel

I can’t recommend Vera’s food tour enough! We had all ages - from 7 years old to 70 - and she managed to keep everyone entertained! We ate so many delicious and interesting foods and enjoyed listening to the stories behind the dishes and culture. Vera went above and beyond by making sure everyone was engaged by just being so friendly, fun and welcoming - we all felt like we were getting a tour from an old friend. My husband, I, and two of our friends had a 10 tastings of Porto with Vera. This was the first time any of us went on a food tour. This was also by far my favorite guided experience. If I had to describe Vera in one word, it would be PERSONALITY. She was funny, and knowledgeable, and engaging. She had a perfect English, which sometimes could be a challenge in Portugal. I’m usually pretty picky with food, but I loved everything we tasted. We also got many tips on dining in Portugal. We went back for lunch at one of the places Vera took us and met her there with another group. She made sure to stop by to chat with us and answer whatever new questions we had.
