This tour with Susanne is great in several key ways. One of our group members had a gluten allergy, and Susanne was empathetic and helpful to provide suggestions and alternatives; I think this was the biggest reason we had such a positive experience. Our group of four loves to learn about history, and so we enjoyed seeing the sights between each food stop and learning about them, as well as understanding the current and historical context behind the food we ate. There were more stops with smaller amounts of food, which I think was a good way to experience many different culinary environments. We still had time to linger at each place, so we did not feel like we were in a hurry. Susanne was a personable and friendly person to follow. Some tour guides seem like they're reciting a script or working on "auto-pilot," but with Susanne, conversation flowed naturally all while she led us through Innere Stadt. We felt comfortable with her, and I strongly recommend this tour with her!An inclusive and educational experience!

Unfortunately, this was a very poor tour and a complete waste of time and money. Virtually nothing that was listed in the tour web page was done, and only the most minimal information was provided on Vienna history, food, and coffee. Although Sandy was a pleasant person she spent most of her time asking us about ourselves rather than giving us insights into Vienna or its culinary highlights and tradition. Not a food tour or tour of any sort really

I highly recommend the Culinary Kickstart tour with Sandy. She is super friendly. We felt like we were just hanging out with a friend. She took into account the dietary restrictions and was very accommodating. We loved seeing Vienna through her eyes. We tried lots of different savory and sweet dishes. Wir hatten eine schöne Stadtführung. Ingrid ist sehr nett und wir haben gute Informationen über die Stadtgeschichte erhalten. Leider ist aus unserer Sicht die Food Tour etwas untergegangen. Bei Buchung wurden 6 Kostproben online versprochen. Erhalten haben wir 3 verschiedene Kostproben und ein Getränk (ein traditionelle Brot-Schnitte, eine Wurst und einen Kuchen) Hier hätte ich mir mehr erwartet wenn ich eine Tour unter dem Titel “Culinary Kickstart Tour: Vienna” buche. In der Konditorei sollten wir uns je ein Stück Torte aussuchen, dies haben wir in einer Take Away Box mitbekommen und sollten dann unsere Torte bei - 4 Grad irgendwo im Stehen auf der Straße essen. Das war leider kein schönes Ende der Tour. Hier hätte ein Tisch im Café reserviert werden müssen oder alternativ eine Kostprobe auf die Hand zum schnellen essen.

We met Ingrid for a food/ history tour of Vienna. She asked us at the start if we wanted more history or more food - we said a bit of both. Ingrid was very knowledgable about all the monuments and pointed out lots of things that we wouldn’t have spotted by ourselves. We covered a lot of ground and saw a lot more than we imagined. Roxane hat sich super nach den Bedürfnissen der Gruppe gerichtet. Wollen die mehr weniger, kürzer ..oder noch was anderes wissen. Geschichtliche zusammenhänge wurden witzig in Anektoten verpackt und verknüpft mit was wir schon gesehen hatten -so merkt man sich wirklich was. Roxane gave us a wonderful introduction to Vienna. This was our first experience with a personal/local tour guide and I don’t think we will be able to go back to group tours after! As this was our first time in Vienna, we chose a City Kickstart tour through Withlocals to get an overview and introduction of what to see. Our local guide, Roxana was amazing! In addition to her bubbly warm personality, she was a wealth of knowledge. In the relatively short time together, we learned more about the history, art, culture and unique aspects we never would have picked up in a large group tour or reading a visitors' guide. Doing this on foot was fanastic as we saw so much and knew exactly where we wanted to return to to spend more time and tour inside. Roxane amazed us with her depth of understanding the history: good, bad and quirky facts that were fascinating to listen to. A really great experience! Sandie can tell you a lot about Vienna as well as travelling to many other places. In terms of food, there is plenty to eat! It is a good mix of savory and sweet Austrian dishes. It is also a good introduction to the city's center -- this is a great thing to do on the first day of a stay in Vienna, as it will give you a good sense of both the city and the cuisine. Great introduction to Viennese cusine.

Selin gave us a lovely mixture of history and food tastings that introduced us to Vienna beautifully. Our meeting point was not clear, however, so it was frustrating to be waiting for over half an hour in different places around the cathedral, both too worried about moving to look for each other! I suggest giving better instructions or even posting a photo of where to meet, telling clients what you will be wearing..the crowds at the Cathedral made it difficult! We were glad Selin didn't give up on us when our phones were not working and we eventually connected via email. A great tour, very personable and some great food! Laye start, but a good tour.

Sandie is a wonderful vivacious Guide. She was knowledgeable & engaging. She picked me up at my hotel & as we walked she explained the history & significance of the buildings & monuments. Her tour was perfectly pitched for a first time visitor. My food experience was amazing. I so enjoyed my sandwiches @ Trezesniewski. We next went to Cafe Engländer where I enjoyed the best Vienna Schnizel & potato salad - the dressing was delicious. I enjoyed my first glass of Viennese wine - similar to Riesling. Desert was at Cafe Diglas & even though I was fit to burst I managed to enjoy the most delicious Apple Strudel Sandie was generous with her time & my tour ran until its natural conclusion. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sandie as a Guide. By the time we parted I felt I was saying goodbye to a friend. The Time Flew

We went with Sandie on a Vienna walking food tour. We only had one day in Vienna and the night before arriving I reached out to see if we could squeeze in a tour with her. Roxanne was an amazing tour guide. I had been in touch. With her prior to arriving in Vienna. I wanted to see if I could find my family home and trace some significant family locations there. Roxanne greeted us with charm and extensive knowledge about the Jewish history of Vienna. She led us to my father’s home, school and synagogue while giving us some in depth history. Our tour with Selin was fantastic! She has deep knowledge of the culture and the history of Vienna and gave us a fantastic introduction to the city through her story telling. She mixed some hidden gems in with the big highlights, and you can tell she knows everything there is to know about Vienna. She was also able to answer every question we had throughout the three hours and often dived into her archive of photos on her iPad to bring a story to life or show how something would have looked in the past. From the moment we set off, her warmth, knowledge, and passion for the region made the journey engaging and memorable. Our first stop was a small winery run by her friend Phillip, who welcomed us with a fascinating tour of his vineyard. His insights into the winemaking process, paired with a tasting of his wines, set a high bar for the day. Sandie’s personal connection with Phillip added a special touch, making the visit feel intimate and authentic. Next, we visited another winery, this one led by one of the few female winemakers in the region—a friend of Phillip’s. We had a fantastic time with Anita! She showed us around town during our foodtour. We learned a lot about Vienna and Vienna’s history while enjoying extraordinairy local (vegetarian) food at the best local places. Our teenagers also enjoyed the tour very much. We had a lovely non-strenuous bike tour around Vienna with Sandy. She is very knowledgeable and shared a lot of local history. One improvement may be to keep things moving. Sandy is a very warm and friendly guide. We spent an enjoyable day walking the streets of Vienna looking at buildings of interest and getting a feeling for Vienna. Although we would have liked more factual and detailed information about the architecture and history around what we saw. As a comment on the organisation, we were surprised to have to buy tickets for building entry or for the train on top of the tour price. It is better to be included in the price. 10/10 for Anita, who looked after our group incredibly well, with Viennese treats in her backpack, local history and current affairs at her fingertips, and plenty of images on file to bring it all to life for us.
