We were a group of 5 friends and had a private tour with Ibra. We would definitely recommend it, as we had the best time, learned a lot about the city and tasted delicious traditional meals. Initially I was disappointed because I had chosen another guide (woman) from the list. If this is the normal practice whereby any guide is allocated, it makes a bit of a farce of offering choice as a feature. It also could have been an issue if for religious reasons I wasn’t comfortable with a male guide. I was not asked. I wouldn’t have chosen Ibra, but he provided some very interesting information and suggestions. Don’t depend on your choice of guide

Ibrahim is a very nice man but his description of the day tour was misleading. He describes time for both breakfast and lunch which he did not follow through on, nor was there a ferry ride. He day was also inly about 9 hours, nowhere near the 12 offered. Additionally the museums were closed on Monday, which seemed to surprise him. On the other hand we did enjoy our ability to walk around both Iznik and the Bursa bazaar.

Ibrahim is a nice guy and he knows how to cook. On the day of our cooking experience, he admitted he had been out late with friends the night before, and it was pretty apparent that he was hungover. It was interesting joining him in his home. He's very laid back. The cooking experience wasn't as interactive as we would have liked (we mostly chopped and grated vegetables). Do be aware that Ibrahim has a dog and 2 cats. They were present and distracting (dog took our shoes and chewed on them, cats got onto the kitchen counter). If you have pet allergies, do not like or are scared of animals, this is not the experience for you. Also, his home is up a steep hill so if you have mobility issues this wouldn't be a good fit for you. All in all, it was an ok time. The ferry ride out to the island was beautiful and we got to try some food we would not have found on our own. Maybe we caught Ibrahim on a bad day, but I'd have difficulty recommending this experience to a friend.Just ok

Nadat we boodschappen hebben gedaan kwamen we aan bij het huis van Ibrahim. Met een prachtig uitzicht kookten we heerlijke gerechtjes uit verschillende streken. Samen hebben we genoten van al het lekkers. Gelukkig hoefden we daarna alleen maar naar beneden te lopen, met onze volle buiken, om op de boot te stappen terug naar het hotel. I did the Hamam guided experience with Ibrahim the night I arrived in Istanbul and I would highly recommend it! He is a great guide, super accommodating and a great steward of this experience. Wir wurden gegen einen kleinen Aufreis vom Hotel abgeholt und zum Hafen gebracht. Die Bootstour war sehr schön erholsam. Wir haben viel Eindrücke von der Prinzessin Insel bekommen und konnten vom stressigen Alltag entfliehen. Auf dem Boot haben wir kleine Leckereien und Getränke erhalten. Ibrahim was a kind host as he accompanied us on the trip along the Bosphorus he had arranged for us on a private yacht leaving from Bebek marina. He made sure to make us feel at ease and found a good balance between making conversation and giving us some more private moments. He also brought sparkling wine and mezze. Make no mistake: we loved our 4-hour trip on the boat Ibrahim had rented. Where we feel this experience has room for improvement is the added value of the host compared to simply renting a boat from the many offers on display in the marina, especially since the boat already came with a crew of two. Also, the experience description is not entirely accurate: we only got off the boat to see Yoros castle—this actually suited us fine since the boat is what makes this experience expensive, but the description suggests several villages. Also, the trip is between Bebek and Yoros castle, so you do not get to see the Maiden’s Tower (this part of the description suggested we’d go right up to the old city). Finally, although the four-hour duration is stated, then referring to it as an all-day tour is a bit of a stretch. In brief, we did have a wonderful time on this experience, but we felt there could (and should) be more added value as compared to arranging for a boat rental ourselves, given the price.Relaxing private yacht Bosphorus trip

We enjoyed our time (about 4 hours) with Mr.Ibrahim learning how to prepare few different Turkish Meze. He lives on one of the Prince's Island so had to take a one hour ferry to get there. Mr. Ibrahim came to meet us at the Jetty and we took a horse carriage taxi to get to his apartment on the hill. His apartment is on the second floor and we had to climb some stairs to get there. There is a very good view from his balcony. Mr. Ibrahim is very courteous and he had prepared a list of the items required for the seven vegetarian Meze that he had planned to show us. We had some hands on experience to prepare the Meze and the final products was enjoyed by all of us after. I would certainly recommend Mr. Ibrahim as it was also great to meet n interact with a local. Turkish Meze

Ibrahim was fantastic and our trip was really amazing. I enjoyed our trip so much because Ibrahim is not a professional tour guide. He is a local. For me sometimes professional tour guides can give you too much information! So much my brain cannot hold it and I forget everything. But Ibrahim was extremely knowledgeable on the issues that I wanted to know about. And what he didn’t know he found for me. Ibrahim was friendly and personable and made me feel extremely comfortable and at home. Not only was he a great guide but a wonderful cook and very knowledgeable about Turkish food. I reached out to Ibrahim requesting a custom class where I could learn how to make traditional kebab cooked over charcoal. This is not normally his specialty, but he did a lot of work to put together the experience on short notice. Ibrahim organized a workshop with a kebab chef in a restaurant on Buyukada, where I learned how to make a few different styles of kebabs (Ibrahim translated). The kebab making was a bit underwhelming, only because the chef was not quite as skilled as I had hoped, but it was fun nonetheless. Afterwards, Ibrahim invited me to his home to make 4 traditional Turkish appetizers (Ibrahim's specialty), which was a really great experience. Everything we made was super tasty and I enjoyed spending the beautiful sunny day cooking and listening to music. Thank you for everything Ibrahim!Great Turkish Cooking Experience

Perfect day to spend in Istanbul!! Ibrahim was super helpfull with all the planning and what boat we should grab etc. when we got to the island it was raining so Ibrahim suggested we go back to his apartment and drink tea before we start cooking. The view from the apartment is amazing and we just hung out for a while talking, drinking tea whilst Ibrahim told us abit about Istanbul, his family and gave us some tips for what we could do for the rest of our trip. The cooking was awesome. I myself am a horrible cook and really dont enjoy it but he made it fun 😊! And the food was AMAZING!! So beautifull surroundings, good food and fun and awesome company makes this totally worth the money and is time well spent whilst in Istanbul!! Awesome day!!

I have no words to describe Ibrahim. He was amazing from the very beggining, helping me with all doubts to set it up. His house on the island has THE BEST view and the island itself is amazing, and really cool to visit. Reccomend to do as us and arrive a little earlier (he met us and showed some spots from the island btw :) Food is simply great, one of the best and things we can definitely replicate at home. We spent an afternoon with Ibrahim at his home cooking mezzes. He asked us beforehand what we liked and chose recipes that suited our vegetarianism. He had prepared some snacks for our arrival to welcome us. In 2 hours we made about 8 dishes with him doing the bulk of the cooking but we also helped. He explained it all very well and was fun to be with. All in all we had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and when we sat down to eat the food was delicious. We feel confident we could cook this at home. Ibrahim was kind and attentive. Highly recommended. Wonderful mezzes
