We had a fantastic time! Georgia introduced us to some amazing food and took us to some local shops to learn about Greek liquors and local honeys. We had an excellent food tour, Georgia was very informative, perfectly paced between stops for some amazing food, the Souvlaki/Gyros, by the meat market, was definitely the best by far, cannot rate this enough it was delicious ! The liqueur shop was fabulous too, we got to taste a few, plus purchased some to take home in handy 100ml bottles. Would absolutely recommend this food tour, Georgia was excellent. Superb food tour with Grorgia.

An amazing “foodie” experience in Athens. We (3 adults) met Georgia at 9:30am (tip - don’t eat beforehand) and for the next few hrs Georgia introduced us to amazing food, colourful people and hidden laneways filled with interesting shops and businesses. Georgia was a fantastic guide and more. Friendly, interesting, passionate and with a wonderful knowledge of Athens, its more recent development, and of course its food. We really enjoyed our tour with Georgia. She took us to and pointed out places we definitely wouldn't have experienced otherwise. Recommend you arrive on a very empty stomach -- we were pretty stuffed afterwards. I was a bit worried that 3 hours would be too long, but it moved along quickly and was over before we knew it. Georgia was easy going and knowledgeable. We had taken a tour of ancient Athens the day before and Georgia's tour transitioned really nicely into the more modern history of Athens as shown through the local food culture. Recommend taking the tour early in your trip to Athens because she also pointed out a lot of places that would be great to go back to. Even my teenage son, who was dragging his feet at the idea of another tour, gave it two thumbs up.Fantastic tour, go on an empty stomach

Almost immediately I felt like I was visiting an old friend who was showing me her town. She paints a fascinating image of modern Greece and the history of how it arrived here. Out first day in Athens and we met Georgia for a tour of Athens' shops, markets and restaurants. WOW! Georgia shared her wealth of knowledge about architecture, food, Greek culture, the markets and where the food comes from. The tastings were meaningfully thought out throughout the tour. She knows every inch of the city centre we explored and seemingly most of the shopkeepers! We saw and tasted the city centre in a way that we would otherwise never know how to as new visitors. She went above and beyond to ensure we were set up for the rest of our stay in Athens. The five of us had a fantastic time with Georgia eating our way around the centre of Athens. We visited many authentic food spots and sampled some great liquor too. All the places we visited were places we would have never found on our own, some underground or down little alleys and all full of local people. The food we tried was excellent, the food market was interesting and the tour overall was marvellous. Georgia is a fun and kind person who really looked after us well. She gave us plenty of restaurant recommendations for us to try on our own. We would highly recommend Georgia and her “Delicious Food Tour with Food Journalist”, go hungry, you won’t be disappointed! The tastings she arranged were all delicious, unique and meant our suitcases got a bit heavier as we wanted to buy what we ate and drank! Would do the same tour with Georgia all over again! Great mix of eating, information, and showing off the most interesting food/drink/culture areas of Athens. She popped into bars that weren’t open yet to show us, added a bit of extra halva (sweet treat), grabbed another fig to try because I asked, etc. She seemed to know everyone, and was super comfortable and confident- which in turn made us feel super comfortable. Georgia enriched our travel experience in Athens. We are foodies, who like to experience different cultures. She took us to all of large squares and taught us about the history of Athens but then took us to unusual, off the beaten path restaurants where we tasted the traditional foods. What a tour ! Cheeses, oysters, gorgeous cured meats, fresh breads, almond drinks, and the incredible smells of spice shops. Georgia put on a tour d’force of the Athens food scene. I could have never even found these tiny, century old shops that specialize in truffle infused cheese or decades old recipes for cured meats - let alone figured out to get dozens of tastes. Georgia knows these purveyors and they know her = perfect experience to talk to locals about their food world with a guide who knows the environment. On our weekend trip in Athens we booked a food tour with Georgia. It was great. We told her about our dietary wishes and she organized a tour that was perfectly fitting. We went to a nice area in the city that otherwise we wouldn’t have known about if it wasn’t for her. We had great beers, spirits and a really good mezze meal. We enjoyed the food-tour with Georgia very much. Not only does she know a lot about the neigborhood and the different sites, she know so many people and she has the ability AND flexibility to change her plans when she finds out about the interests of her guests. This was a great experience! I gifted the tour to my parents. They have been to Athens multiple times, it was the first time for me. I was a bit nervous that the tour wouldn't contain enough 'new' information for them, but it definitely did! Georgia is nice, funny and smart, her journalism background really helps to give the different neighbourhoods of Athens so much color, we learned so much! This tour is a great way to not only learn about the historical highlights (like you have in every tour), but also the culture of the locals, especially food/dining culture and habits. Food we tasted was great too. She also gives great tips, one restaurant we visited later during our trip and it was amazing! Only small improvement would be time management, we were so excited in the beginning that we spent a bit too much time in one place, so we had to rush a little bit at the end, but not in a problematic way. Georgia's English is great and it's possible to discuss alternations/improvisations with her if needed. We recommended Georgia's tour to two sets of people visiting Athens soon, and I think everyone who can afford it should book the tour!So worth it!

We chose to have a food tour of Athens on our first full day there. This proved to be a great idea, as not only did Georgia provide us with an abundance of delicious food, she also showed us great places to eat and drink whilst in the city. This was our favorite tour of several we took in Athens. Georgia was great at filling us in on recent history that gives you a sense of why things are the way they are in Athens today, and it was so great to walk into all the fun hidden spots and cafes that look like unmarked doors that contained beautiful hang-out spots and historical tidbits.
