This tour was amazing! Priscilla is full of energy, knowledgeable, and made the history of the DMZ easy to understand. Visiting the Third Infiltration Tunnel and Dora Observatory was fascinating and educational. We booked a day with Hojin so that we could visit the DMZ. We are older travellers and my husband also has parkinsons and so we needed to have the trip tailored to our needs and abilities. Hojin was fantastic, he was very knowledgeable, patient and understanding. He made the whole day really enjoyable and we learned a lot about korean history and the ongoing situation. Sanche was really great to work with. My group requested a custom private tour combining the DMZ and food tour and she worked with our schedule and helped us do so much in one day. All of the food spots she brought us to were amazing, and when the regular DMZ viewpoint was closed she drove us to a different one. And she really went above and beyond when she found my sunglasses left in the car and drove back to our hotel to drop them off, I didn’t even ask, she just did it! Ho Jin was an amazing tour guide. His knowledge was exceptional and he spent time helping us fully understand what was happening. The DMZ was enlightening, the tunnel was thought provoking. He took us to Gloucester Hill and the Gloucester memorial from the Battle of Imjin, which had extra special meaning to us as we are from Gloucester in UK where they were from. It was enlightening that we knew so little of our own local history and learnt so much from the tour. The walk to the waterfall and the suspension bridge was a little tough but he was encouraging all the way. It was truly worth it. Amazing tour

The day was super interesting and we learned a lot - not just about the DMZ but other things about Korea, which we wouldn't otherwise get a chance to learn or ask. However, the best bit was Ho Jin. We couldn't ask for a better guide. Ho Jin was so flexible and accommodating. We travelled with a 5-month old baby and Ho Jin was so kind that he picked up a baby car seat for us, adapted the schedule and was extremely helpful and considerate. It's not always easy to travel with a small baby, but Ho Jin made it much easier. We really do appreciate it. I wholeheartedly recommend Ho Jin to anyone considering a tour in Korea - you won't be disappointed! Awesome experience!

Der Besuch der DMZ mit der innerkoreanischen Grenze ist für mich als Deutscher ein besonderes Highlight gewesen. Ein immer noch geteiltes Land zu sehen macht mich aber auch traurig. Ich empfehle jedem Besucher von Seoul die DMz zu besuchen. Zuerst geht es zum Besuerzentrum mit der Möglichkeit nordkoreanisches Geld als Souvenir zu erwerben und einen Bunker sowie eine Eisenbahnbrücke zu besichtigen. Anschließend geht es zum 3. Invasionstunnel (350 Meter schräg unter die Erde und dann noch einmal 250 Meter gebückt geradeaus; gewisse Kondition vorausgesetzt) und zum Highlight, dem Observatory, von dem man aus einen Blick auf Nordkorea riskieren kann. Abschließend hat man noch die Möglichkeit die sehr guten Produkte aus der DMZ zu kosten und zu erwerben. ich empfand es als sehr angnehmen, dass mich Sanghee vom Hotel aus abgeholt hat und sich um alles gekümmert hat. Wir waren bei allen Attraktionen immer die ersten und ich konnte alles perfekt genießen. Die ganzen Hintergrundgeschichten von Sanhee haben einen tollen Ausflug abgerunden. Unbedingt früh losfahren! The visit to the DMZ with the inter-Korean border was a special highlight for me as a German. But seeing a country that is still divided also makes me sad. I recommend every visitor to Seoul to visit the DMZ. First you go to the visitor centre where you can buy North Korean money as a souvenir and visit a bunker and a railway bridge.Then it's off to the 3rd invasion tunnel (350 metres diagonally underground and then another 250 metres straight ahead, provided you are in good physical condition) and the highlight, the observatory, from where you can take a look at North Korea. Finally, you have the opportunity to taste and buy the excellent products from the DMZ. I found it very pleasant that Sanghee picked me up from the hotel and took care of everything. We were always the first at all the attractions and I was able to enjoy everything perfectly. All the background stories from Sanhee rounded off a great trip. Make sure you set off early! Ho Jin is a fantastic tour guide! He provided a detailed tour and very enjoyable day in the DMZ and the surrounding area. He has a deep knowledge of the history of Korea but is equally happy to discuss all aspects of life in South Korea today. His English is fluent. She showed us a lot and was very patient with our questions I am not giving a full star review, because, unbeknownst to us, as she was picking us up, there was another guy in the car. This was our second tour with Sanghee - she is a great host. Really friendly, informative and helpful. Excellent English and easy to talk to. We were picked up at 6.30am from our accomdation - early start is needed to minimise later queues. Much more relaxing and enjoyable to have a personal tour than be in a large bus group. Sanghee drove us to the start of the DMZ tour where she got our tickets and accompanied us to the 3rd tunnel, the observatory and a village in the DMZ. JSA is currently closed so not an option for visitors. Tour of DMZ is about 3 hours but whole trip about 7 - 8 hours. Fasciating experience to see the border with North Korea but it is surreal to think of this as a tourist destination. Worth a viist if in Seoul for several days.DMZ private tour

We booked two tours with Ho Jin - a short kick-start tour and a full day DMZ tour the next day. He speaks English fluently so we had no problems communicating. The first tour gave us (2 older and 2 younger adults) a taste of some of the key sights around our area (Myeongdong and Insadong). We'd done a Palace tour the day before and Ho Jin was flexible and took us to places we hadn't yet been. The next day started early at 7am with Ho Jin meeting two of us in our hotel lobby, ready to head off. We grabbed a coffee and then set off in his very comfortable, clean and spacious SUV. We drove for a couple of hours to reach the DMZ and we were shown around all the key places on a bus tour. Ho Jin gave us some great local insights that we wouldn't have usually had access to. On the way home we stopped for a delicious authentic lunch, then visited a number of others places including a memorial and a waterfall. He then dropped us off at a place of our choosing at the end of the day. All in all, I can say that we were very happy with both tours, and Ho Jin was a pleasure to have as our guide. We felt safe at all times, and that Ho Jin responded well to our needs and pace. Highly recommend Ho Jin if you want a guide who is professional, personable and a great communicator!!Ho Jin is AWESOME!!!

Highly recommended! We had a really good time with Ho Jin yesterday. He was a great conversationalist and we loved learning about his interesting background. Sanghee is so nice, we booked her twice! This time we went on a DMZ tour which was the first time it was opened since 2020! As you can expect, several of the morning tours were booked in the morning so we could only get the 1:30pm tour. Sanghee managed everything for us, which was great. There was a lot to do around the DMZ ticket office, so we took advantage of that. Once on the tour, we went to three locations which went rather quickly; tunnel, watchtower where you can see N Korea through binoculars, and a rest stop. It was a cool experience! My only critique of the entire tour was Sanghee's driving, it was a little hard to stomach the speeding and abrupt change in speeds. DMZ Tour

We decided to enlist a private guide due to having our 8yo who doesn't speak English yet and we wanted to be able to translate what we were seeing and doing to our native language without disturbing anyone. When we searched for this - Withlocals came up and Ho Jin caught our eye with his picture and description, so we decided to book him. We got a confirmation really fast and a message from him about the DMZ actually being closed due to African Swine Fever, but that it was expected to be opened again two days later than the date we had booked and he was wondering if that day would work for us. It did, so we set up the guiding. Ho Jin picked us up and was ahead of schedule, which we really appreciated. His car was comfortable, clean and really nice! And for Ho Jin himself - we really could not have asked for a nicer and better guide. It was truly a treat to have him as our guide. We went to the forth agression tunnel which was not crowded at all, as well as the DMZ-station close to it which had a great view of the DMZ as well as parts of North Korea. We were to visit a national park close to the DMZ as well, but unfortunately it was closed due to sanitation from the ASF, so Ho Jin instead took us to an arboretum which held all fauna of South Korea and that was truly a sight for the Gods as the autumn made all colors on the trees. Our lunch was has in a little village in what first looked like a persons home, but turned out to be a restaurant where we had a wonderful pot stew. We had such a great day and will absolutely give Ho Jin our warmest, best recommendations and we will absolutely look into Withlocals again when travelling!A truly great experience

The withlocals site offered a wrong date so Juri moved heaven and earth to arrange our DMZ tour. When we stepped in her car and drove off towards North Korea it felt as if we were travelling with a friend. We not only talked about the history and facts of the DMZ. We also talked about family life, politics and things we like to do. The fourth tunnel was impressive and the observatory really made you feel the tension between the countries. The tour was flawless. The lunch was great and authentic. Our son (10 years) loved everything. Saying goodbye at the end of the day felt almost akward. So if you are looking for someone who loves to show you her city and country and you want someone to feel comfortable with.....only one choice...Juri. Thank you again 😁Tour with a heart

Ho Jin did a fabulous job of collecting us at the airport and taking us around the city to points of interest. He shared facts about the various areas. I particularly enjoyed the old village and the views from there. The Digital Media City architecture is amazing. We all enjoyed the little soup restaurant that we never would have discovered on our own. It was a great way to spend our layover!Seoul Custom Tour

We did the non-touristy DMZ tour with Ho Jin. He picked us up on time and we headed straight to the DMZ and 4th tunnel area. Getting there took us approximately 2.5-3 hrs. On our way to the DMZ, we saw a lot of the scenery outside of Seoul and chatted with Ho Jin about Korea. Since it was a weekday there was literally almost nobody within the DMZ so we could enter without any waiting time and had the sights to ourselves. We went to an observatory in the DMZ, went to the fourth tunnel. You get to enter first on foot and then take a train further down the tunnel. After a delicious local lunch, we went on a short hike in a designated hiking area within the DMZ where you can experience untouched nature of the area. Ho Jin is very relaxed and laid-back, is a safe driver and very knowledgeable about Korea and answered all our questions throughout the whole day. Overall, we can highly recommend this tour with him.Very recommendable

We booked the tour very spontaneously just 1 day ahead but everything was perfect. We had to drive 2 hours to the dmz but time passed by quick as Juri told us a lot about everything and everyone. Once at the zone, we were able to go to an observatory, a museum, visit tunnel4 and walk to the famous waterfall. Due to the late season, no many other tourists were there. Un tour alternativo y único con Ho Jin, en castellano y que nadie más lo ofrece, ni por idioma, ni ruta. Muy interesante, pudimos disfrutar y vivir en un ambiente de tensa calma que solo puedes ver contratando este circuito privado. A pesar de no ver las zonas turísticas de DMZ y JSA, no decepciona. Es un perfecto anfitrión, recogida y vuelta al hotel y comer muy barato y rico en un lugar auténtico. Muy buena comunicación a través de la página. Merece la pena
