Sammy is really a nice guy, and I’m sorry I can’t leave him a positive review, but unfortunately, there were too many things that didn’t go well. First of all, he showed up looking very sloppy, completely different from how he appears in his profile picture. Then, the choice of restaurants felt really random and improvised, without any prior selection. The biggest issue, however, was hygiene. Thai people are generally very welcoming, but the places we visited were extremely, extremely dirty. In fact, right in front of one restaurant, there were piles of garbage and even rats. Of course, we told him we wanted to change location, and although he was willing to accommodate us, the situation didn’t improve at all. In the end, we decided to cut the tour short. Unfortunately, the next day, two girls in the group even came down with diarrhea. I strongly do not recommend this experience! Bad experience

Sammy was very friendly however what a got for my money what disappointing. I paid €58 for this tour. We started off with sate followed with a tuk tuk ride where we had soup. Finally we walked to another place where we had a dessert and a beer. The total duration of the tour was only 1,5 hour. Furthermore I expected to learn a lot more about the city and better food. The food was tasty but for what I paid for I expected more also knowing how cheap Thai food is. Not what i expected

Sammy was great! We tried food we would never have chosen ourselves. Unfortunately we picked the tour with the German description which was totally different from the English description of the tour. Especially the included number of dishes varies in the descriptions. Also not all the shops were open and Sammy had to improvise. For the next tour I would like to have more background information on the food. Overall it was a great experience!Great evening experience

Had a great night with Sammy, who was fantastic throughout our evening tour of Bangkok. He's a super genuine and friendly local who clearly loves his food!! From the outset he was great - messaging us well in advance on Whatapp to give us the meet up points with pictures to assist. We then went on a great tour of a few establishments that the 'proper' locals visit, tasting dishes along the way. It was great to be able to go to places that realistically as a tourist with zero knowledge of the city we wouldn't ever go to. The food was great and we were welcomed every single place we went. The big thing for us is that one of us is a coeliac, so cannot have any gluten. Sammy was able to cater for this and communicated to all the vendors for us which allowed us to eat with confidence - again something we would never have been able to do adequately. Highly recommend both withlocals and Sammy as the tour guide... Thank you Sammy!!Great night off the beaten track...

Our host was not the one selected. When our host met us at the designated location and time she advised that because prices of the included Tuk Tuk ride had gone up we would need to pay more to include this. She also informed that because of the rising cost of beer and the nominal allowance she had been given by the tour operator she could no longer include a drink before saying good-bye. Not a very satisfactory start to a long anticipated pleasurable experience. We could not help feeling we were being ripped off/scammed. This cast a dark cloud over the fact that the food itself and hosting were satisfactory. So if you book a similar excursion with ‘Withlocals’, based on our experience, be prepared to be asked to pay more before embarking on your pre-booked and pre-paid tour.Disappointing and failed to meet expectations

Wir haben aufgrund einer Absage eines anderen Guides die Tour dann mit Sascha gemacht. Anfangs dachten wir „Mensch, wir wollten doch einen Locale, also eine/einen Thai“ - aber schnell haben wir erkannt: auch Sascha kennt sich super aus was die besten Spots und das leckere Essen in Bangkok angeht. Wir sind über einen Markt geschlendert und er hat uns allerlei zu den Dingen, die wir entdeckt haben, erzählt. Unterwegs haben wir schon allerlei Snacks probiert und sind dann in ein eher abgelegenes Restaurant - eine echte Ruhe Oase mitten in Bangkok und haben dort drei unterschiedliche Gerichte probiert. Danach gab‘s noch weitere Tipps, um den Abend auch nach der Tour schön abschließen zu können. Alles in allem sehr gelungen - und total angenehm, deutsch sprechen zu können ;-) Wir können Sascha als lokalen Guide definitiv empfehlen! Super Insights in Kultur und Food

For all those tempted by a Bangkok street food tour - do it. It was an amazing experience. Nala and the site offered immediate contact, messaging was prompt and clear. Sammy is very professional and a wonderful person. My husband and I were travelling with a 2 year old and he ensured that the kid was well taken care off. He also offered to entertain our son or hold him while we enjoyed our meals. I would highly recommend his services. The day we went some of his restaurants choices were closed but he quickly made other arrangements for us to visit. The only thing i would say that could have been better is if he had slowed down just a little. At times it felt we were almost running but he had did have a lot to cover in a short amount of time so i can see that.Sammy is awesome

There were six of us in Bangkok for the evening and our host, Wizit, "Eddie", showed us a wonderful time! He was charming and knowledgeable about the area. The food options were excellent and interesting. We felt like we got the best of everything! All of the Thai classics from chicken satay with peanut sauce to tom yum soup and curries (which were truly exceptional -- served at outdoor tables on the sidewalk loaded with fresh vegetables and herbs to add to your bowl!) and treats like Thai donuts and coconut pancakes! We had a nice walking tour and an exciting tuk tuk ride, lots of engaging conversation and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Our tour with Wisit was our favorite thing we did in Bangkok. He is so sweet, attentive, and really goes out of his way to make sure the tour is a genuine experience. THERE WAS SO MUCH FOOD. SO. MUCH. All of it amazing. My partner does not like coconut water and one of the stops Wisit had planned was that, we told him about our tastes and he said, “you like beer?” And we were so happy he was able to accommodate. We did the evening food-tour with Sammy, and had a great time. Sammy is super friendly and easy to talk with. He took us to different places were we got to taste chicken skewers with satay, Tom Yum soup, papaya and mangosteen salad (to mention some). All the food was so good! We finished the evening at a bar, with Sammy buying us a beer. He took a lot of pictures, and sent them to me on Whatsapp straight after the tour. Definitely reccomend this tour and Sammy as a guide.
