We had a great time on our overnight layover tour in Dubai! We had a 10 hour layover (overnight) and we were really glad we found this tour. We saw all the sights of Dubai with Sandy as a helpful guide. It was well organized, convenient and easy going. What we were especially impressed with was that there was a driver and a guide. This meant that wherever we got out to see the sights, we would get dropped off and picked up right in front - no messing about with parking around crowded places! We were pleasantly surprised and glad we did this overnight tour instead of staying at the airport!Great Overnight Layover Tour!

We had a great day with Sandy and Jose. A perfect introduction to Dubai for first time visitors. We learned a lot about the development of Dubai over the past few years and saw many of the top attractions from the comfort of the air conditioned car- important since it was around 105 degrees outside! We also took a boat into Old Dubai and went to the souks-the Spice market and the gold market. Both were interesting experiences! We had decided beforehand with Sandy to get skip the line tickets up to the 144th floor of the Burj Khalifa which offered us an amazing view with quick access. We were dropped off and Sandy picked up the tickets for us. After the tour we were met again at the same location and driven back to the hotel. Very convenient. It was truly a great day and Sandy and Jose made everything very easy for us and did all we had hoped for. I would definitely recommend them to other travelers. A good overview of Dubai

I had an afternoon/evening layover in Dubai and wanted to get out to see the city. Communication with Sandy and Jose beforehand was very easy, and I felt very comfortable making the arrangements to meet up. Sandy picked me up at the airport and gave me a tour of Old Dubai, New Dubai, and per my request customized it to finish with the fountain show before taking me back to the airport with plenty of time before my flight. It was extremely hot in Dubai at that time, and I definitely wouldn't have been able to go out and visit on my own with the heat and humidity. Having the opportunity to tour in a comfortable, air-conditioned van was amazing. I had the opportunity to take lots of pictures and walk around local sights (while also being able to go back to the van to cool down and move on to the next stop). I'm really glad I found out about this opportunity because I believe this tour really gave me a chance to get to know Dubai despite only being in Dubai for a layover! My favorite part was the food tasting -- it was so delicious, I got seconds!! 10/10

I had two days free and scheduled a tour to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, old and new, with Sandy. I had an excellent tour of both cities. Sandy was very knowledgeable about the history of Dubai. He was flexible with the time and the locations we visited. After the first day's tour to Abu Dhabi, Sandy recommended that I see the mall and Burj Khalifa that evening. The next day, Sandy asked me if I had made it to the mall and the Burj Khalifa. I told him I was too tired that evening. To my surprise, at the end of the second-day tour, Sandy told me to visit the mall, the Burj Khalifa, and several other locations instead of dropping me off at my hotel. We booked a tour with Sandy, accompanied by a driver. We had all day to experience "the best of Dubai" prior to our late-night flight. Sandy was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our one day tour of Dubai with Sandy as our guide and his skilled driver. They proudly showed us the Jems of the city while giving us the background and some depth of understanding. He was open to adjusting the itinerary, kept a close eye on our wandering troupe, and showed us some spots we wouldn’t have found on our own. The restaurant he selected for us for lunch was in a beautiful patio over the “creek” and served local food at reasonable prices. If you want to go inside the frame, Burj tower, water park, Museum of the future etc, get your tickets well ahead of time and go on your own as you wouldn’t need a guide and there still will be line ups. But to get around the city and see landmarks and great markets etc, these guides are amazing. Nice van too with AC. Tour of Dubai covers all the highlights

We spent 5-6 hours with Sandy during a layover in Dubai. Honestly it was a great way to see the city and make the most of the time we had. It was also totally stress free which was helpful in the midst of long tiring flights. My husband and I booked a tour of New and Old Dubai with Sandy during our layover in Dubai. Upon our arrival, Sandy was already waiting for us in the arrival’s hall and greeted us at the airport. Sandy planed a wonderful day for us with sightseeing. Sandy was very knowledgeable, welcoming, friendly, and professional. He was amazing at planning the sightseeing and prioritizing according to the traffic and what’s best to see during the day and what’s best to see during the evening. At the end of the day, we had a nice dinner at a great restaurant by the water recommended by Sandy. Rajun, the driver was also amazing. We were driven back to the airport for our next flight on time. Our entire experience was amazing, stress free, and we would have not been able to see half of the stuff on our own that we did with Sandy. My wife and I booked the tour the day before and had to make some last minute adjustments and yet Jose and Sandy accommodated us happily. The tour and cultural context were excellent and very enjoyable. We were able to see and experience all the major tourists spots within the four hour tour. I didn't do a great job of planning ahead before a 9 hour layover in Dubai, but I had seen several reviews of Sandy & Jose previously, and thought I would try them out. So when it was 48 hours prior to arriving, I lept into high gear, and Sandy was very quick to respond AND was wonderfully helpful in giving me ideas on highlights for such a short tour during a layover. He let me choose a bunch of the sites and listened to my feedback about what my wife and I would be most interested in (and what we wouldn't be interested in). So we quickly narrowed down what we'd go see, and then when the time came (after I'd booked the visit) - he was very communicative the day of as we were flying over. Really easy to meet him, and he was very efficient at picking us up and getting us out of the airport to maximize our time on the ground. He knows GOBS about the history, the architecture, the people, cultures, religions, and all sorts of valuable and trivial information that really made our time there interesting. We had a great time at the Burj and the mall, a quick visit to the Frame and some wonderful and surprising moments on the Palm island. Lovely time at a local dinner after an Abra ride on the river (creek) and some excellent shopping at the different Souqs. Not too high pressure which I really appreciate! Overall a fantastic experience, and we look forward to going back again maybe few a few days next time, all because of Sandy!Knowledgable, very helpful, customized!

I had this tour set up and on the day of, my flight was delayed 5 hours. Sandy was fantastic and flexible and even picked me up at the airport instead of my hotel so we wouldn’t lose any more time. Despite my late arrival, Sandy still made sure we saw as many sites as we could and he even took me to get some amazing shawarma and camels milk ice cream! He was very knowledgeable and the tour was seamless. If you have a long layover in Dubai, definitely do this tour! On a 24 hour layover we wanted to make our stop count. We hoped to explore the city and get a little history. We got that plus more! Gomez went above and beyond and tailored the experience just for us. We could skip and add what we wanted to do most. We saw the entire city in our 4 hour tour. It was perfect! He picked us up from the airport and we started right away. When he dropped us off at our hotel it was 3:00 and time for us to check in. He is extremely knowledgeable, has great suggestions, moves the tour along without you feeling rushed. He has a great sense of humor and kept us laughing. Highly recommend. We had a long layover on an Emirates flight landing at 11pm and taking off at 8am the next morning. I contacted Gomez through the Withlocals site and then app to arrange a 5 hour tour. He was extremely responsive. Customs and security at that time was well staffed and we easily made it to the arrivals hall before midnight. The messenger feature on the Withlocals app allowed us to communicate with Gomez as we landed and exited the arrivals hall. Finding him was a piece of cake. One bonus that we didn't realize is that he comes with a dedicated driver. This allowed him to give us his full attention while in the van and we never had to park and hike. It was literally front row service at every time. Gomez joined us on every stop and was more than happy to take pictures. He started with an excellent overview of the country, history, climate, etc. He literally knows something about every building we drove by. He has a keen attention to detail and really did a nice job of pointing out things that may not have been obvious to a first timer in Dubai. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and due to the lack of traffic in the middle of the night, we were able to do the equivalent of a full day tour in about half the time. Most attractions are closed at this hour (Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, etc) but it doesn't prevent you from getting up close to take pictures. Thank you Gomez!Midnight layover tour of Dubai

On our arrival in Dubai, we received a message that poor Jose Gomez was suffering from an injury. But soon his beautiful wife Struthy met us at the airport and showed us to an extremely comfortable air-conditioned vehicle complete with personal driver. Struthy was a truly wonderful guide. She showed us all the highlights of Dubai including palaces, landmark buildings, gorgeous malls, indoor snow fields where we sampled some delicious ice-cream, a ride across the Creek river in a traditional Abra boat to the fabulous spice and gold souks, and even an excursion to a wildlife sanctuary to wonder at the flocks of beautiful flamingos in the middle of this vibrant city. We were travelling with our teenage daughter who has complex disabilities, and Struthy was so sensitive and considerate of her special needs which made our day tour all the more memorable. Struthy was an exceptional guide and her excellent commentary concerning the city's past, present and foreseeable future development plans was an extra special bonus.
