Marko made the whole experience worthwhile. His suggestions and local knowledge ensured we got to see the best of Dubrovnik. It was a pleasure to have seen it through his eyes. He communicated prior to us meeting through WhatsApp and ensured he covered all of the things we wanted to do and see. He even used his own car to transport us around, which was spotlessly clean. An added touch was the thoughtful bottle of water he provided for us and he also treated us to refreshments halfway through the tour. “The wine tasting and street food tour is a great experience, not just for the excellent wine and cheese to start, but also for the opportunity to sit and chat with a local, being able to ask any questions. The evening was fun, we learned quite a bit about Dubrovnik itself and its development of the tourist industry in the last few years. It wasn't just a dry lecture, it was a fun conversation where Romana was very open about different cultural aspects, giving advice on how to further plan the holiday and just general smalltalk. While the main streets are quite busy in the evening, the wine bar and the street food shop werent too crowded and still allowed for a decent conversation without having to shout to get over the noise. Overall would definitely recommend the tour to get a more personal view and experience in dubrovnik.”Local experience

“I cannot recommend Romana highly enough! She is the friendliest and loveliest tour guide we have ever had! It was such a wonderful tour being shown Dubrovnik from a local, she showed us hidden gems and gave us excellent advice from food recommendations to tourist information. She recommended excellent restaurants to eat at and took us to a local shop (which we would have never found by ourselves) where we had some local cuisine and coffee which was delicious, we even bought t-shirts from her fathers shop which was great value and a lovely reminder of our trip. This was the highlight of our trip and exceeded expectations. I highly recommend Romana’s tour as it made our stay in Dubrovnik so much more than the few tourist things you think of doing. As a Dubrovnik native, Marko was incredibly knowledgeable about Croatia, the city and its history. He told us remarkable and personal stories about the 1991-92 war and its effect on Croatia. He was flexible so that he easily tailored the tour to meet our needs. Besides Dubrovnik (and yes Game of Throne scenes), we went to Mount Srd for scenic views and Lokrum, a beautiful bio-diverse island. Marco exceeded our expectations. He lead us through Dubrovnik with great history, funny stories and patience. Our large group of 14 was grateful for the transportation from our cruise port to the city gates. Marco helped us shop, arranged for a tour of Lokrum island. He arranged for a lovely lunch at the only restaurant on the island and took us through ruins and botanical gardens. We enjoyed swimming on the island and cliff jumping into the clear waters. Jure gave the four of us a wonderful private tour around the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Within its walls, Jure pointed out various important places related to the recent bombing by Yugoslavia. He is very knowledgeable on that subject. At our request, he also pointed out a few spots where scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed. It was great to be in such a small group; the experience is so much better than a large tour. And the cost shared amongst four people is very reasonable. First, we are NOT a walking tour people. Never really had a great experience on one — until this two-hour private tour for two with Jure! Not only is Jure so knowledgeable about the layer after layer of Croatian history (he’s a history major at university, and it shows!), but he explains everything at a great pace with amazing detail. He’s not just packed with information, he’s a brilliant storyteller, so you get every detail right as you need it. If you have a question, he’ll not only answer it, but do so with context and probably a factual anecdote. His own personal history growing up in Croatia is riveting as well, and you can see the pride he has for his country, as well as the angst he carries for the country’s well-being. As a basketball fan, we definitely bonded about sports, as well. We saw places in Old town that we NEVER would have discovered on our own, no matter how many google searches we did. We cannot recommend this tour enough. Hopefully, Jure never gets tired of giving them. I thought Dubrovnik would be my least favorite port stop. It ended up being my favorite, because the city is amazing, and because Jure was an ideal guide. (Also recommend the buggy car tour atop the cable car spot). A rich, fulfilling experience

We did our walking tour with Jure and had the most interesting and amazing time. Jure effectively combines his evident passion for history with his experience of studying and growing up in Dubrovnik. He was able to answer every question ( and we asked a lot) and created a great balance between the informative aspect whilst keeping it incredibly engaging and entertaining(my 13 year old boy was engaged throughout)by recounting fun (and sometimes tragic) stories and tales of the ancient city. You are guaranteed to walk away with a solid understanding and great appreciation for the history of Dubrovnik. Not to give too much away, but Jure showed us many details engrained within the old town that you wouldn’t stop to notice without the prior knowledge of them being there. It was a fun activity to go back the next day and attempt to find all the little trails of history that went unnoticed before. I could not recommend this tour (guided by Jure, of course) enough. Amazing experience

So enjoyed our walking tour with Jure it was brilliant. Really good balance of history Roman period Medieval focus and modern day including 1990s conflicts. Jure was excellent at picking up the signals of what we were interested in and went to great trouble to make sure all our needs were met. We booked 2 hours but there was no clock watching and we easily hit 2 and a half hours. Highly recommended!!Fascinating and informative. Great value

I had to change plans because of last minute emergency. Jure was very accommodating with this change and despite the bad weather, he showed up on time and made the most out of the time I spent with him. Prior to booking the tour, I reached out to Jure about the scheduling issues I have in selecting the correct date on the website and he was patient with setting it up the date I preferred. In constant communication on the days before the day of the tour, Jure was reponsive to all my questions and he even accommodated my request on the very day to start the tour an hour early. The tour itself was engaging, informative and as we went along the walk, Jure instinctively adapted the tour according to my interests. If you are curious to learn about the history and the soul of Dubrovnik, i would highly recommend this experience.
