Our tour was curtailed due to our crutches and wheel chair, so Carmen had to adapt our tour to avoid stairs and rough ground. She pulled together all her resources to give the best of Segovia by car with stops where we could negotiate the terrain. We had an excellent lunch with local specialties. Carmen was knowledgeable and was very friendly and must for anyone that wants to get the most out of a day trip to Segovia. She knew exactly where to go and we even had special requests that she was able to accommodate. We had booked this tour. The first day in Madrid we had a purse stolen at breakfast in Hotel. Had to cancel because of police report. Carmen was so nice tried to get with us for something in Madrid... did not work out. She was so nice and refunded our tour money. I will return to Madrid and book again. Unser Besuch in Segovia mit Carmen war einer unserer schönsten und entspanntesten Städtetrips in Spanien. Der römische Aquädukt ist beeindruckend. Es gibt viele romanische Kirchen in der Stadt. Die meisten Häuser sind mit ihrer alten Wanddekoration sehr gut restauriert worden. Die Kathedrale und die Burg sind besuchenswert. Hinter dem Ticketoffice der Burg gibt es ein Restaurant mit Garten, von hier aus hat man einen schönen Blick auf die Altstadt. Der Höhepunkt in Segovia ist das Spanferkelessen, Genuß pur. The experiences you will get with Carmen are like no other. My husband and I met her after writing to her a few times and it was like we had known her for many years. Carmen is so open and caring that she treats you like family and shows you around the city as a friend. She knows the story of the city so well and she lives every moment to its fullest. Her English is excellent and she customizes the tour to your request, taking you through streets that are not usually the touristic ones to show you more than what you would get on other tours. Carmen is an amazing five generation Madrillian who is very passionate about life and this part of her country that is Madrid. She is a wealth of information. We took the bus to Segovia a medical city full of beautiful sights for your eyes. She had her nephew visiting from Argentina who came with us. We had a very nice time. I had one of my favorite meal in Segovia a real tradition of the region. Piglet roasted on the traditional oven. OMG was that ever food. Also tasted the traditional soup beans and desert of Spain. Our trip to Segovia with Carmen was nothing short of perfect. Carmen is delightful and the kind of person you want to know the rest of your life. Our day with her was so much fun. We walked around the whole town and learned so much Spanish history. The pace was perfect. We stopped for a tapa, were treated to learning about Spanish hen parties (you had to be there) and ended the day with a fabulous lunch. There is so much to see in Segovia especially if you look beyond the touristy spots and dig into the city’s fascinating history with someone as knowledgeable as Carmen. Carmen was amazing!! My niece and I booked a day trip to Segovia with Carmen and from the start she was wonderful. She suggested a great hotel in Madrid for us. She was so close she met us at hotel , we had a light breakfast, headed to Segovia and had a great time. She showed us Segovia and instructed us on the history. Lunch was one of the best meals I've ever had. Suckling roasted pork, sides, and wine. We had plenty of time in Segovia and she went at our pace. Carmen has been a gem since my first contact. We developed an itinerary based on my interests, as they blended with what Carmen knew of Segovia. Our rendezvous went well, we got to the bus station and rode the comfortable coach bus for about an hour as we talked about our travels and what our plans were. We set off into town viewing classic architecture before coming to the awesome Roman aqueduct. After photos, we leisurely walked up a mild hill to the cathedral. Cathedrals are a focus for me, and Carmen gave me lots of time to explore, as well as point out unique aspects and clarifying my questions. A few more important buildings and out to the "bow" of the city for the ultimate vista shots. Then a taxi to the restaurant for the "other" local specialty, roast suckling lamb. Absolutely delicious. Then a stroll back to the bus depot and a quiet relaxing return to Madrid. We walked together another 15 minutes, reviewing the day and promising to stay in touch. An excellent resource for travel in Spain, Carmen is generous with her knowledge, attentive to her customer(s), and prompt and thorough with her communications. I hope to tour with her again soon.Great day exploring Segovia

The day we went to Segovia with Carmen was our second day together. We had done the Madrid like a Madrilenos tour with her the day before and were already completely smitten and the day in Segovia was even better. Cab to the bus station and then the inter-city bus to Segovia, through the hills north of Madrid. The trip to Segovia went very well; I didn't know what to expect from bus travel in Spain but it was quite pleasant and I found the countryside to be very interesting, both for its differences and for its similarities with North America. One of the best things about touring with Carmen was that she took such good care of us. We are 60 and not very fit, while not actually disabled. Carmen was always thinking of ways of making things easier for us, like taking a taxi up to the top of Segovia and then walking downhill back towards the bus station. Thank you Carmen! Segovia is a fascinating place and, as in Madrid, Carmen knows everything and everybody. We saw churches and palaces, the Jewish Quarter, the great main street with so many fascinating shops and historical artefacts and points of interest and so much more. The two absolute highlights of our day in Segovia were the Roman aqueduct, which is absolutely stunning, and our lunch at Maribel. The aqueduct is very impressive, hundreds of feet high, hundreds and hundreds of years old, and not a drop of cement holding it up. Absolutely amazing and breathtaking. And lunch at Maribel, tucking in to the suckling pig and suckling lamb, was a gastronomic highlight, not only of our trip but of our lives. Such amazing food and fantastic service. As usual everybody is Carmen's dear friend and we were treated like royalty. The only unpleasant part of the day was saying good-bye to Carmen. We had a wonderful day meeting Carmen in Madrid and heading to Sergovia. She is a wonderful storyteller and has a passion for Spain, food and art. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Carmen.
