Casey was a generous, thoughtful and interesting guide, for my last minute adventure into the hills of KL. I wanted to explore KL and knew that a local guide would be able to share insights/show me routes that I wouldn’t otherwise find. I met Casey early morning for this hike in the jungle outside Kuala Lumpur (30 minute drive from the hotel) . I probably bit off more than I can chew by going on the hike, but what a great experience! Casey is an interesting and informative man who knows the area like the back of his hand. With his help and encouragement I conquered a few of my own fears and left feeling super chuffed that I could do it. If I can, most people can and for me it was a once in a lifetime experience. We (two danish guys) met Casey at out hotel at 6am, drove for 25ish minutes and started the hike in darkness. It is a super nice hike: first open path, then smaller with lots of trees and finally a rock scramble (you need to atleast be a bit agile here). The view on top is great and we definitely saw the misty hills 😎 Casey is a super nice guy, friendly and happy to talk about anything. Can definitely recommend for a morning outing! Casey was phenomenal, he made the hike fun and instilled a lot of confidence in us. He took us to a delicious Malaysian restaurant afterwards for some traditional Malaysian food. The hike itself was quite challenging, my husband and I aren't avid hikers but we did have our hiking boots which proved necessary as there is a lot of mud and climbing rock scrambles where the traction was needed. I would advise wearing long sleeves and long pants as you will trek through a lot of brush. Casey provided headlamps and gloves for the climb and getting branches out of the way. Overall, very happy we did the hike and went a bit outside of our usual comfort zone! If you are looking for an easy trail hike with minimal climbing - this isn't the climb for you as you will truly be cliffside and falls could be quite dangerous. But if you want some true climbing, aren't afraid of heights and eager for a beautiful view payout at the end, I'd say book it! Beautiful hike - be prepared to climb!

Our family had a truly memorable experience hiking in Misty Hills with Casey. Casey is such a great guide sharing his knowledge generously and keeping us safe on our hike. The hike was challenging at times but it is well worth it and great fun. This was the best thing I did in Malaysia, and I'm so glad I did it! I was only in the country for a few days with work and I really wanted to see something outside of the city. This was the perfect option for the time I had, which was just an afternoon. Caesy took me to this amazing hike near the zoo. It was about 2 hours up and 1.5 hours back. The hike was REALLY scary in places, but I just loved the challenge and being in the jungle. The views from the top were stunning, with nature and mountains on one side and the city on the other. Caesy was fabulous, helping me with the climb and giving me some of his drink when I ran out. He picked me up from my hotel and brought me back after. I felt incredibly safe with him. I enjoyed it so much I asked Caesy to take me to Port Dickson a few days later on my way to the airport. He picked me up from my work and dropped me at the airport (and poor him, he got stuck in loads of traffic on the way home :() Port Dickson beach was average, but Caesy took me on a hike to a different beach which was so beautiful and so quiet (not the weekend). We walked around the peninsula and did a big climb and it was just so amazing - and something that I would never have found by myself and was probably just as lovely as driving for hours to go to another beach further from the city!Amazing!

I am so glad I booked with Casey and was fortunate to spend time in his easy and knowledgeable company. He is kind, considerate, interesting and a true gentleman. The sights and experiences we shared were things I would not have found on my own and we had engaging conversations about the history and politics of the country that broadened my understanding and enhanced my trip. Our first day together was the hike up a hill in the outskirts of KL and it was a truly memorable experience. I would describe the exertion as moderate for a reasonably fit and experienced hill walker. Casey is unbelievably fit and energetic, but I felt he set the pace to suit me and was happy to pause or slow down when I wanted to drink in the stunning surroundings and wildlife. He also thoughtfully provided snacks and water (the humidity is unbelievable!). He took me on lesser know trails and we were able to access superior views and a quieter experience. The views from the top across KL and towards the lake and countryside will live long in my memory as will the steeper stretches where we used ropes fixed to the hillside to ascend and descend - brilliant fun. I was mainly on KL for a work trip and just had the weekends either side free. Having spent the first day with Casey I think it speaks volumes that I also chose to spend a day of my second weekend with him. This was for a day trip to Kuala Selangor, something I was really keen to do, but would have struggled to organise without Casey's invaluable help and advice. We packed so much in! Our first port of call was a sunrise boat trip out to the sky mirror a completely astounding natural phenomenon and experience. Then a hike around a national park and trip to see the paddy fields - both with amazing birdwatching opportunities including nightjar, kingfishers and eagles. We visited the fort, managing not to lose any of our possessions to the monkeys, saw wonderful street art and ate the most delicious lunch with Casey's suggestions. Then 2 more boat trips to see the clouds and clouds of brahmin kites and terns that surrounded the boat and a sunset and dusk sail to watch fireflies - both completely incredible multisensory experiences. We also fitted in a sumptuous seafood dinner overlooking the river. My experiences with Casey were superb in every respect and I always felt safe, secure, valued and looked after by this charming and remarkable man. Very glad to have met him and would definitely engage his services if I am lucky enough to be back in KL🙏The highlight of my Malaysia trip!💕

It has took me a while to write this for fear of retribution as he did tell me people that write bad reviews can go to prison. But having spoken to a few people they have told me that I should so ladies are aware. Anyway I booked this hike with Casey but then booked several other tours with him, in fact a lot of tours. He is a good guide, however, I would not recommend for lone females. He became a bit to touchy and inappropriate on a few occasions and in the end I didn't do my last couple of tours with him as I felt uncomfortable. Okay but inappropriate

My family was sick and had to miss out on this experience - so I set out alone with Casey into the wilderness in the darkness before dawn. The hike is not easy and involves a lot of climbing up and down over steep rocks with the help of ropes. But the views are rewarding and it was off the usual tourist routes: we didn’t meet anyone else during our entire hike. Casey is great (and very fit) and the whole experience was good fun! Definitely off the beaten track!

Casey is an excellent host. His encouragement for this adventure was great. The hike was satisfying to complete and followed by a great spot to eat out that we didn't know about. The scenery and location were an ideal way to experience the country outside of, yet close to, the city. Next time I would take another big bottle of frozen water and maybe a packed lunch/breakfast to enjoy at the summit and provide energy for the hike down. Excellent day out

We are a UK family of four with two boys aged 14 & 12. We had a 48 hour stop over on the way to Australia. From the very early communication, to the flexible (and prompt) meeting, Casey made sure all our needs were met. We wanted to show the boys another side of Malaysia to the cities. Casey delivered amazingly. We were taken on a brilliant hike into the mountains, with breathtaking views at the top. He was superbly prepared and made sure we had enough snacks and water. He even took us to one of his favourite eating places afterwards for a well-deserved lunch. We cannot rate Casey high enough. Casey picked us up at the hotel and provided gloves, water, a few snacks, and headlamps. We started early in the morning, so the first part of the hike was in the dark. The view at the night skyline was cool! Because of the cloudy weather we didn't catch the sunrise but that was fine - this way we didn't have to hike in the heat. The hike itself was less a relaxed strolling around but rather a hike-and-climb experience but still manageable and Casey takes care that you climb safely and don't stumble or fall. The view was very rewarding and definitely worth it!We had a great hike with Casey!

This hike was so exhilarating! The description really does not do it justice and it was a fairly technical hike with lots of scrambling involved. It was very worth it though and such a cool way to see KL and the surrounding areas of KL. Seeing KL from the Petronas Twin Towers was very cool, but this hike was absolutely amazing. Casey is such a force and extremely nice and knowledgeable. He was very helpful throughout the hike, especially when having to climb back down. He brought me some small breakfast items as well, as we left very early. The hike itself is pretty much in the city though, so not much of a far drive. We had some really good food afterwards too and Casey was more than happy to have me try so many different things. WOW!

Our hike with Casey started early at 6am - Casey was very easy to talk to, friendly, and had so much information from a local’s perspective to enhance our KL trip before the hike even began. Casey allowed the walk to be guided at our own pace, and instructed us well at more challenging points of the hike. As amateur hikers ourselves, we advise being very prepared with lots of water and snacks for the breaks taken along the way after some steep inclines/climbs! Casey had also kindly brought extra water and snacks (thank you!). The views at the end of the hike were outstanding, and simply would not have been available to us without a local guide. It was such a reward to reach the top and see the view over Klang gates Dam. We then trekked back down and had an incredible brunch in Chinatown at a place we wouldn’t have happened upon otherwise. The food was excellent, and the company even more so - thank you so much for being our guide Casey! We highly recommend your expertise to any tourist visiting KL - it made our trip so special and we’re incredibly grateful. Rigorous and rewarding

An enthralling experience of a hike. Started off at 6:00 am and took about an hour to reach the top where the mountains on one side and the city on the other was partly hidden by the clearing mist. It was simply breathtaking both figuratively and literally given my lack of climbing experience. Despite that, Mr. Casey was one gem of a person, taking me through the entire hike at my pace, reassuring me and keeping me engaged with so many interesting stories, it never seemed tiresome or too difficult. When we couldn't see the river too well because of the mist, Casey asked me if I was game and we went down all the way through a different trail to find the river and it was absolutely worth it. I've been wanting to go here but wasn't confident because i heard that this is not a 'walk in the park' so i decided to book this tour to make sure I go with someone with proven experience. I wont go into details on how beautiful this place is, the pictures says it all. Let me tell you why Casey should be your go to guide if you want to hike here. He was well prepared and he got you covered from pick up to drop off. We started hiking in the dark and Casey knows every dangerous turn in the hill. While we're chit chatting, he'd suddenly pause to remind you there's a slippery slopes or thorny bush ahead to watch out. That's how alert and focus he is. Without his guidance, I'd probably come home with couple of bruises lol. My most memorable time was when we had to climb some kind of a vertical drop to reach the last peak. I consider myself reasonably fit but I have zero climbing experience, let alone climbing a real rock with no harness and helmet (there was only a rope hanging from the top) and i'm also scared of heights. Casey gave crash course on climbing and guided me along the way. What I truly appreciate was his total calmness and focus in guiding the climb, he was very encouraging, i felt like climbing with a friend who puts your safety first and have total faith in you. What could be a scary experience, became Zen like to me. Casey was also a great photographer who took amazing pics so you dont have to worry about documenting your trip and can enjoy being in the moment instead. I finished the hike feeling accomplished and came home with amazing experience and memories. I've recommended Casey to all of my friends and would definitely go with him again on my next nature adventure. Amazing Morning Hike

Despite all the daunting stories in the news about the dangers of Bukit Tabur, i am truly happy that we took the leap of faith and decided to conquer this magical hike. The whole experience was beautiful start to end and we couldn't have got through as smoothly without our friendly and patient guide - Casey. He picked us up early in the morning and we started our hike around 6am. Throughout our hike he was very reassuring and made sure our comfort and ease was priority. In addition to being an amazing and responsible guide - Casey is also an amazingly talented photographer, he has an eye to capture such beautiful moments. However despite all the beautiful and rewarding photos , theres nothing like witnessing the beauty of nature in life. If you are physically capable and love a bit of adventure i highly recommend this hike. However i strongly advise that you get a wonderful guide like we did, and ensure that safety is first. Amazing sunrise hiking trail! My son and I, we were picked up at 5.30am at the hotel by our excellent guide Casey. Head lights on in the dark, through the forest up to the top, with a spectaculair sunrise and a splendid view of the lake and the forest at one side and the city at the other site. Amazing! Casey is an excellent guide, very experienced and knows a lot to tell about life in Malaysia. Needless to say that I was very proud hearing Casey say that at 69, almost 70, I was the oldest to complete this challenging hike💪Fantastic holiday highlight!

I highly recommend this Misty Hill hike with Casey. He is an experienced guide and very friendly host. He is also extremely fit and patient, making you feel 100% safe during the sometimes steep climb up and very challenging, but with help from Casey doable way down the hill. He also doubles as a good photographer so you can totally focus on climbing and enjoy the breathtaking views during drink breaks. After the hike he took me for a delicious and generous mamak breakfast and gave me some recommendations on where to go and what to do in KL. The hike was awesome. The views when you get to the top are beautiful and it’s so neat to see the lake on one side and the city still lit up on the other side. Casey took great pics of me through out. It is a challenging hike, but definitely doable if you’re moderately fit. I'm not what one would describe as a hiker. I would definitely put myself in the category below a novice. I did not know what I was getting myself in for. Let me tell you that this is the scariest and most exhilarating thing I've done. Casey is a phenomenal guide and has a patience that knows no bounds. He made me feel 100% safe and allowed me to take the hike at my own speed. During the hike Casey stopped often for drink breaks and to show me the views. He also took many photos unprompted which turned out amazing! There are some parts on the hike I am honestly I did in the dark. There is a part of the hike that I found absolutely petrifying; however Casey calmed my nerves and did not rush me down the hill. (if you decide to do the hike you'll know which I mean 😊) The hike lasted about 4 hours in total. I would highly recommend wearing appropriate shoes. Bring some snacks and plenty of fluid - you'll be sweating loads. The hike ended with delicious breakfast at this amazing little joint near the Petronas towers. If me an unexperienced hiker with none existing fitness level can do it so can you. Best decision ever made - 100% recommended

The Misty Hill experience certainly was memorable. Our generous guide, Casey, an extremely fit and agile gentleman, arrived at our hotel at 5.30am to take us on our early morning expedition. It wasn't too far to the destination. Climbing the trails in the dark was quite exciting and a little test for our fitness. We are used to a lot of hiking raking up many hundreds of kilometres each year, but this was a little steeper than usual! The challenges were offset by Casey's intimate local knowledge of the trail and his very encouraging and timely advice as to where to put your feet and when to have a break. Casey is part outdoor education enthusiast and part psychologist! The hiking trail is really an eroded volcanic sill representing an enormous volcanic lava flow millions of years ago, so the landform is a reasonably narrow isthmus of rock with rainforest on the slopes and low shrubland on the top. The views along the ascent and on top are quite breathtaking, especially with the dense mist clouding the lake below. The only really challenging part was the climb up a rockface - not too high and made easier by a favourable angle and heavy knotted ropes. It was actually more challenging descending! Again, Casey was extremely encouraging and at all times gave expert safety advice. Please be aware though, you need to be very fit and healthy to complete this walk and climb. Casey indicated that at 64, I was the oldest person to complete this experience. Having said this, I am an experienced outdoors person and very fit, but without climbing experience. You might reconsider this walk if you are really unfit, overweight, uncoordinated, or have a fear of climbing or heights. If you feel it is a hike for you, my advice is to take it slowly, be aware of your surroundings at all times, and listen carefully to Casey's expert advice. This experience was just amazing, that was my first time doing the Hikking. When I was inside this jungle in KL and saw all the rocks and mountain we have to climb, I was like OMG. But Casey helped me to forget about the difficulty and enjoy the experience and the views that were breath-taking. Casey is a very good host, with a lot of experience, he gave me good advises and hints and made me feel safe because he was caring about my security at 1st place. I advise strongly to make this experience with Casey, you definitly won't regret it...! Just Awesome...

We had a great hike with Casey! He is very experienced in hiking and knows what he is doing. We saw the most breathtaking views, from Kuala Lumpur in the very early morning, till the sun who came up by misty hill. Some peaces were a little difficult but Casey is very profesional and keeps you calm. At the end we were proud of ourselves that we climbed al the way up 'there'! After the hike, he take us to try some local food, wat was delicious! It was an amazing trip. What a nice adventure!

Casey has so much energy for a 5am start which is infectious! Within ten minutes I felt wide awake and he knows all of the great spots to stop and take photos at on the hike.
