We (my husband and myself)had a fabulous day exploring the pyramids of the Giza Plateau, Saqqara and Dahshur with Ramses and his driver John. Ramses is a total professional, really knowledgeable and a good communicator with excellent English and a great sense of humour. We really loved the way he opened our eyes to small details we might have overlooked if exploring by ourselves. His passion for archaeology and Egyptian history shines through. John is a really good and safe driver. Unlike other drivers on the roads of Cairo the mad driver gene seems to passed him by. He kindly provided each of us with a welcome bottle of water. Ramses was charming company. Very knowledgeable about Islamic history but judged well how much information we could digest. He showed us some key historical highlights but balanced this with a walking tour of the markets and a stop for tea in a local cafe. He made sure we got back to our hotel safely. We spent 3 wonderful days with Ramses. His knowledge is exceptional and he managed to keep our teenager daughter engaged (not an easy task). We had no set plans and let Ramses take the lead on our Cairo adventure through Coptic and Islamic Cairo, the Giza plateau and Saqqara. His local knowledge meant he could also find the quiet spots to enhance our experience. Despite hundreds of visitors at the pyramids he found places where we were almost the only people, including tombs not on the popular tourist agenda. It felt very special. He gave us great advice on The Egyptian museum in Cairo to see the King Tut exhibition as we hadn’t realised it was not yet at GEM. He made us feel like friends and we had fascinating conversations about ancient and modern Egypt. I can thoroughly recommend Ramses for your Cairo adventure and we will definitely be back. First i'd like to tell Ramses how much our group appreciated his knowledge and eagerness to show us everything we wanted to see. We came as clients, and left as friends. For all those looking for a guide, you get that and much more with Ramses. His hidden little gems at each location he wants to show you, and the tiny little details he points out that have major impacts to the story and history of the time are incredible. You truly get an Egyptologist with Ramses. Not only do you get his depth of information, you also get someone who is funny, kind and genuinely wants you to learn. My husband and I had the best day with Ramses on his tour "Pyramids of Egypt: Full-Day Exploration". He helped us make the most of every minute exploring the amazing sites of Dashur, Saqqara and Giza and timed the whole day to avoid the crowds. TLDR: Tour with Ramses, it'll be the best decision you make. We had an absolutely amazing time with Ramses. From the beginning, everything was so easy. We were in Cairo for a week (2 adults & a 7-year old) and wanted to take our time seeing the sites. We contacted Ramses with our time constraints and interests, and together we constructed the perfect itinerary. Over five days, we saw the Giza pyramids, Saqqara & Dashur, Alexandria, Islamic & Coptic Cairo, the National Museum of Civilisation, Grand Egyptian Museum, Egyptian Museum, Khan El-Khalili Market, Muhammed Ali's Palace, and the Citadel. With his local knowledge, we avoided the crowds and were able to enjoy learning about Egypt without feeling rushed or crushed. Ramses is inspiring, friendly, warm, and easy to be around. His depth of knowledge is astounding. It was great learning about Cairo and watching our daughter love learning about Ancient Egypt. She hadn't wanted to go on the trip and by the end of the first day, she was fascinated! Beyond the tour, Ramses is an invaluable part of any Cairo trip. One of our suitcases was delayed in arriving to Cairo. Ramses was beyond helpful, calling the airport on our behalf, sending follow-up messages and adjusting our itinerary so that we could collect the wayward bag. He convinced our daughter to try new foods and go inside of pyramids (she was initially a bit scared). He is pure magic. Ramses arranged all transport and it was smooth, comfortable, and easy. Iman, our driver, navigated the traffic with ease and made visiting multiple sites in one day seamless and stress-free. Respect to Ramses. He is a deep thinker and is a super knowledgeable local. He is on time, well prepared with his driver Joey and ready to share his deep knowledge of Egyptian history. He is a family man who understands that his role is critical to that supporting function and therefore his tours are detailed and well organized. Words can't describe how much I enjoyed my full day tour of the Pyramids with Ramses. We went to 3 different Pyramid sites and at 2 of them we were mostly alone which was amazing. Ramses command of English is perfectly fluent with very little accent and is very easy to understand. Ramses is very highly educated and well read. Not only that he can read ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. Impressive indeed. Everywhere we went he found people he knew and they all said I was lucky to be with him, and I couldn't agree more. He told me he has probably been to the Pyramids 10,000 times and I believe it with his incredible knowledge. I recommend him very highly. Thank you for a day I'll never forget Ramses! We were so fortunate to have Ramses as a guide. He was so very knowledgeable, explained so many things to us, and paid attention to all the details for us. He was so great with my parents who are both in their mid-70s. He was very patient, and took care to make sure that my parents were okay throughout the whole 2 days. He was so great the day in Cairo that my mom booked him for another trip one day later to Alexandria. He made sure that the driver and the van were very professional, the van was excellent and had fantastic air conditioning, and comfortable seats. We had the most lovely 2 days with Ramses learning about ancient Egypt and learning about the monuments, who built them, how they were built.... It was really fantastic! Probably the best tour guide I've ever had. We were very fortunate to have met Ramses for our first tour on our first day in Cairo, the Egyptian Museum. Turns out Ramses is working on his PhD in Egyptology and had worked as a curator at the museum. He knows the museum inside out. He is a learned man and speaks fluent English. He's a direct descendent of Ramses the great and is very proud of his heritage. I learned so much about Ancient Egypt from him over the 3 hours we spent there. We were so impressed with him that a few days later, we canceled the tour guide we booked originally and asked him for a day tour of Pyramid of Djoser and Giza, as well as Memphis. He arranged for everything and made all the plans. He has so much experience and inside knowledge, everything was perfect. From Egyptian history to camel rides to best picture spots to best place to shop, Ramses can offer you everything you want to know. He is very honest and trustworthy, more than once saved us from harassments by some locals. If you have any questions or concerns, he will give you a straight answer. We had an amazing tour with Ramses XII, he is the best in Cairo!! His knowledge of history and passion for the area shows and his attention to detail for our tour was superb! I was wanting to have a more of an authentic experience and visit some places that were off the beaten track, so I booked a full day Pyramid experience with Ramses. The highlights for me were the Dahshur Pyramids (Bent & Red Pyramids), Ramses got me there before everyone else, I literally had them all to myself, hardly any other tourists and no people trying to sell you things. Giza was also good when we got there later in the day, but it was no comparison to my experience at Dahshur. Ramses is a great host, very knowledgeable and pointed out lots of small details you would not otherwise notice. He knew everyone, which made getting around a breeze. I also booked a second day to check out Cairo and have Pigeon for lunch! The highlight for me was the museum, again Ramses got me in before everyone else, and I was literally alone with Tutankhamen for 15 mins.
