Marcin made the history come alive. He knew a lot of hidden spots that you would walk by but to get a full and complete history of WWII you need to see these sights. He had a passion for showing you the hidden gems and obviously did his research about the area. The tour was very personalized and reflected his deep passion. A not to miss tour and he also leaves you with tips for the rest of your time in Warsaw. We followed these the next day and were not disappointed.

Marcin is so knowledgeable and provided us with an overview of the Warsaw ghetto that we would not have been able to experience otherwise. We visited out of the way places and learned some awful facts about that time. While we were walking Marcin gave us lots of insight into life in Warsaw. Interestingly, two people that were discussed on the tour we found referenced in books that we were reading at home. We had an excellent tour with Marcin. He took us through the former ghetto in Warsaw and helped us to get a better understanding of the tragedy of this period in Polish history under Nazi occupation. The tour was thorough and paced well. We covered several miles of the old ghetto and ended in the old city. As a musician, Marcin has a unique perspective on history and human interaction. He is thoughtful and showed empathy for the suffering of his fellow countrymen. The 3 hrs with Marcin was full of great knowledge sharing. The walk is not hard - you do cover distance but it's an easy walk. The number of different stops there is no way as a tourist I could have found these sites. Marcin was accommodating with all my questions and sent me a number of book titles and films to help increase by learning. I would recommend this 3 hr walk to people wanting a solid foundation in understanding the impact of WW2 on Warsaw. A great experience

A friendly, informative and in-depth view of the history of Warsaw, taking in the the very modern and the not so modern at street level. The kind of tours I prefer, walking around from street to street reeling in the local history, all the nooks and crannies, the side streets and the hidden but important stories that one not might get otherwise. Noticing how Warsaw is a city where the very modern (high rise skyscrapers) lie side by side the very old (old apartment blocks of the 60s and 70s) and the even older (remnants of buildings from the war period) Marcin's tour was relaxed, with lots of good information and facts about sites and areas of historical significance...... from the the time the Rolling Stones played in Soviet Warsaw, the street history of the Warsaw uprising, and a look at the some of the remains of the Warsaw Ghetto, amongst a raft of things to see and experience. Afterwards, we had some local dishes, where we sampled the best of Polish cuisine - yes, and that includes pirogi! ha Recommended if one wants a more personal and grounded view of the real history of the magnificent city of Warsaw. Marcin focused our three-hour walking tour on the remnants of the ghetto, as we had requested. He led us to one of the two remaining pieces of the ghetto wall, then around the city so we could appreciate the various phases of the ghetto development and destruction. His comments on current Polish society and interests were insightful, sometimes funny, but clear and informative. Having Marcin lead a tour of the area of the former Warsaw Ghetto was an ideal way to become immersed in the heartbreak of this time in the city's past. He knows where visible remnants of that time can still be found and the stories behind why they have been preserved. This tour was a great introduction to Warsaw on our first full day in the city. We covered lots of ground so had a good idea what to come back to later and spend more time on. Marcin was hugely knowledgeable and one of the highlights was him pointing out small features we otherwise would have walked past. I met Marcin at the Royal Garden - what a beautiful and wonderful location to start getting to know a bit about this amazing city, since it was my first time ever in Warsaw; Marcin has a great knowledge of history and was willing to show me whatever it was possible during our 3 hours; got to visit the remnants of the Ghetto Wall, Culture Palace, Royal Tour and also a bit of Old Town - i just wish we had more time for the old Town. Besides that, he's a great photographer and was so nice to take some very nice pictures and have them sent to me! That was definitely a plus! I read that Praga district is becoming more and more interesting nowadays, there is a lot to see and do. For example street art, cool places to hang out and more. I wrote to Marcin that we are interested in street art and basically everything about art. He showed us some murals yes, but did not know anything about why or how they got created, no background at all. He walked us around the districted and it was interesting to see yes, but all the same - he basically talked about the contrasts with the new and old buildings and that was all. we went to the old town market and it was closed, I mean literally nothing to see but empty stalls (why go there at all?) we found out later that there where many more murals to see in the area (and went ourselves for free this time) and that there was a really cool museum of neon lights and soho factory (also came back later to see it ourselves). As we were staying on the other side of the river in the old town, the going back and forth was time consuming and frankly irritating because we payed for the tour, wrote our interests and could have seen everything in one day! All in all really disappointed :( it is not the first tour we took, we travel a lot and always take private tours in all the cities to get to know the culture and history better. It was the worst experience we ever had. And also the most expensive one we took on this trip. The other tours were amazing, with a lot of background, knowledgable and passionate guides, this was just a huge disappointment. Really disappointed :(
