   We immerse ourselves into the very roots of Massilia, a history that became Marseille.

4. Roots of the city:

   Our tour starts in the hallowed medieval crypts of St Victoire Abbey, transporting us through time to a period eons before ours.

5. The magnificent Basilica:

   We take a very comfortable local bus up to the magnificent Romano-Byzantine Basilique-mineure Notre Dame de la Garde. Fondly know locally as "La Bonne Mere" At 150m ASL(Above sea level), it provides a stunning 360° panoramic view of the great city of Marseille, it is breath-taking.

6. Between the medieval and the modern:

   To Fort St. Jean. Part of the original defensive line of our beloved city. Here we get the opportunity to see the ultra modern MuCEM and Villa Méditerranée as well.

7. Amazing and incredible architecture:

   Be in the presence of the monumental, grand, impressive neo-byzantine Cathédrale Basilique-mineure Sainte-Marie-Majeure, fondly known as 'La Major' a giant of our local landscape.

8. A trip to the life of old/medieval:

   Welcome to the old quarter of Marseille known as Le Panier, within which get to also visit La Vieille Charité muséum. Wandering in the narrow streets of this quarter transports you to a bygone period.

9. Quick pit stop, definitely worth it:

   A quick and nice rest at the Vieux Port. Enjoy the amazing views over a drink or two.

10. Definition of an era in expression:

    Next stop will be the Palais Longchamps in it's full grandeur and beauty. A sight to behold. Fountains rising up in the garden, and the spectacular waterfall from within the palace....

11. Gothic experience:

    Visit the néo gothique L'église Saint-Vincent-de-Paul known locally as Église des Réformés. The incredible height of it's architecture, perfectly balanced and designed. Beauty beyond imagination.

12. Street art, and hidden secret places:

    A quick march, to La Plaine and cours Julien, the artistic, hippy, bohemian quarters. Lots of hidden cafes, restaurants, vintage shops, and down the line we have comprehensive spice shops.

13. End of tour:

    As the tour winds up, I can escort the guests back to the original point of depart, or to a location of their choice in the city.

Marseille is a beautiful and colourful city. But you will not get all the parts of the picture, when you not take a tour with Anthony. With his vita Anthony can show you different parts and mysteries of the city. Starting with the basilica Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, the old harbour, the cathedrale and ending at the palais Longchamp. But also the life and cohesion among the people of Marseille. Let you recommend you a restaurant, Anthony knows where to eat really good food for a good price.An amazing day in Marseille
