In just two hours, we learned so much about Pompeii. Carlo was incredibly engaging, sharing insights you wouldn’t find in a guidebook. Initially we were considering taking the tour with the audio guide- but finally decided to have a tour guide and I am so happy we did. We scheduled a private tour for a small group of five. The tour ended up being one of the high points of our trip to Italy. I would highly recommend booking a private tour for Pompeii. There is so much to learn and so much ground to cover in a trip. Communication with Carlo was excellent both before the tour & during. He speaks perfect English. He helped with what train we needed to catch from Naples & met us at the station. He was super organised with water & tickets. Carlo was extremely knowledgeable about Pompeii & could answer all our questions. We had a great tour of one area of Pompeii. Yana opened up the artistic and cultural side of Roman Life. She unpicked the meanings of the frescoes, particularly in the Villa of Mysteries. Yana met my family of 5 (with 3 teenagers) in a cafe to start our tour of Pompei. We had only booked a 2 hour tour, so she wanted to make sure we got to make the most of it and start before we even entered the park. Despite the crowds, we moved freely and never felt hurried or any stress from Yana at all. Her connections with park staff were clear and her demeaner was calm, inspired and steady. She was so knowledgeable and a great storyteller. She chose a perfect itinerary for the short time we had and for the group members. We felt like we got a thorough introduction to Pompei, and she picked out the most amazing additional sights to move on to without her after the tour was over. I think the only way we could have had a richer experience would have been to spend 3-4 days there to thoroughly get to know Pompei. I can't recommend Yana enough - we felt so lucky passing by the bigger tours with their headsets and the confused looks on their faces! If we are ever able to come back, I hope Yana is available to take us all around Napoli! Thanks again, Yana! Such a wonderful tour of Pompei!

We truly loved our time with Raffaele. I doubt we would have even made it into the site without him as the entrance was total chaos on the day we went and his advance purchase of the tickets and navigation of the entry point made it so much easier. Having a private tour guide really made the experience most enriching and much better than being in a large impersonal tour group. His archeological background and intimate knowledge of the site from having worked at the digs provided invaluable depth and insight into the history of Pompeii and the lives of its unfortunate inhabitants. We were able to experience the most important areas of this immense site in the short two hours we spent with him. His tour was the highlight of visit to Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. It was well worth the cost. If you plan on visiting Pompeii, do yourself a favor and try to book Raffaele! The absolute best way to see Pompeii

I booked a Pompeii tour with Yana a few months prior to our date. I was concerned about getting from Naples train station to Pompeii with luggage and she was able to secure a car service for me. She also assisted with finding a storage for the luggage. Our two hours with her went very quickly and we did see many amazing sites. She was able to answer questions we had, even some detailed ones my husband had. She was extremely professional and engaging. We never felt like we were listening to a lecture of facts. Our family group of 3 had a fabulous learning experience with Serena visiting Pompeii. Her extensive knowledge of the history of Pompeii is obvious along with her passion for sharing it. His extensive arsenal of facts is impressive, and he made the best use of our two hours together by streamlining our stops to ensure we hit all the highlights. Wir mussten auf Grund von einem Gewitter unsere geplante Amalfi Boat Tour um einen Tag verschieben.
