Alex gave us a fantastic tour of the Acropolis museum & site. We were with our 3 teenage children & we really enjoyed it. We started in the museum which I would recommend as it’s laid out to mirror the actual site & he spent lots of time with us there explaining the different buildings and interesting artefacts & telling us some v entertaining myths associated. He is obviously extremely knowledgeable but with a very light & entertaining style which made the tour v relaxed. He then brought us through the site itself and nicely reminded us & brought together whet we had learnt & seen in the museum which really brought the ruins to life. He was extremely patients and gave us lots of time & we even had time to stop for coffees and ice creams and a lovely chat about Athenian life between the museum & the site. Costas was very easy to communicate with before the tour; he met us promptly at our prearranged meeting point. The tour of the Acropolis included an initial 2hrs in the Acropolis Museum, during which Costas took us through the history of the site and proved to be incredibly well informed on every aspect; he then took us up on to the slopes of the Acropolis for an hour to show us the real thing. Both parts of the tour knitted together perfectly and we left with a feeling that we had been fully immersed in Greek and Athenian history. Thank you Costas Great tour if the Acropolis

We only had 1 full day in Athens before boarding a cruise ship, so wanted to make the most of it and see as much as possible. We. ‘chose’ Arianna as our guide - from a good selection of local guides - based on Her specialist knowledge of art history. - and also because she has the same name as our daughter ( who coincidentally also studied art history) Arianna met us at the hotel and we had the most wonderful time with her, we wanted to explore the acropolis first- and her expert knowledge, guidance- and humour made our time in Athens even more memorable than we had hoped for. I warned Alex in advance that I was bringing a mythology and history major with me … he did not disappoint! He did an amazing job of bringing the Acropolis and Parthenon to life and had all the mythological tea to spill on the gods and goddesses. Truly an education and also highly entertaining. He can do it all and is an absolute delight to spend a day with. Bonus - he brings pictures making it so easy for your imagination to keep up with the story telling. Alexandros was an absolute delight! He knows his content and his language skills are impeccable. Do not hesitate to have him guide you through your Acropolis visit. He advised seeing the site first and museum last which I believe to be the best choice as well. Do not skip the museum visit as it pulls in the details of the history, especially with a knowledgeable guide. Also, as he advised, an 8:00AM start is best for weather and crowd management. Arianna was wonderful, she took her time explaining all the highlights of the Acropolis, the history and events leading up to every significant building on the site. What was very important to us was we could pace ourselves as we had brought an 80 year old friend along for the trip of her lifetime, and Arianna was extremely accommodating and we never felt rushed during the tour. Alexandros told us many things about the history and structure of the Acropolis and also about Athens as a whole and some Greek mythology. Even the myths that we knew were of interest because they took on a new meaning when linked to part of the Acropolis. He also showed us what he called the highlights of the Acropolis museum, which included something in every part of the museum and was about as much as we could take in at one time, so maximised the value of our time in the museum.Extremely interesting and engaging

I wanted a special experience for my husband and I and we only had one weekend together to experience Athens. Markella went above and beyond for us. She made it so easy for us. What drew us to Markella was that she’s a native to Athens, she’s a licensed tour guide and that she speaks French and English fluently (as my husband is French and I am American), it was helpful that she was able to communicate in both our native languages.
