I booked the Explore The Borghese Gallery with Valentina and am so glad I did. She took care of getting the tickets for our 11:00 to 1:00 time slot. Communication with Valentina via the WithLocals website prior to our tour was excellent. The Borghese Gallery is beautiful and a must visit in Rome. It was extremely helpful to have someone knowledgeable guide us to paintings and sculptures by Italian masters Caravaggio, Rafael and Bernini. The two hours flew by too quickly. I know my wife and I would not have enjoyed ourselves as much without Valentina guiding the way. Valentina provided us with an excellent tour of the Borghese. She took us through the gallery and explained the history of the site itself as well as highlighting the most important artists and their works. The Borghese restricts the tour time to two hours and with all there is to see that isn't a lot of time so having a personal tour guide like Valentina takes the experience to the next level. Valentina took the three of us through the Borghese Gallery which has time entry allowing each visitor just two hours. She took us through a considered route through the various rooms in order to provide a complete picture of specific artists careers and history. She is articulate, knowledgeable and totally enjoyable to be with. The gallery is beautiful and has a wonderful collection and setting that I highly recommend if you are in Rome. I would not recommend the tour guide Lia. She talked hyper-fast and rarely took a breath. She was at times confrontational, annoyed and aggressive when asked questions. She may have a lot of knowledge but she wasn’t skilled at conversation or story telling about the subject matter. The other tour guides we had while in Rome were wonderful, kind, talented, engaging and had a gift for sharing information and their passion about the subject of the tour. This one was not like that. We were quite disappointed. I never leave a negative review but I also have never been disappointed by a tour before.

Lia gave us a lot of information about all the painters and sculptors. She gave us as well a lot of back ground information. As we had only 2 hours to visit Galleria Borghese it was a lot to absorb. It was a pity that we had to hurry up all the time which was not Lia‘s fault. What we liked most were the explanations about the different centuries - showed in the way of painting and sculptures. Or the differences of painting from South to North. We liked as well the stroll through the gardens of Villa Borghese with all the explanations. We toured the Borghese Gallery with Lia at the beginning of August. It was wonderful to have such a passionate guide. All visits are limited to a 2 hour time slot and Lia helped us make the most of our visit. She educated us about the evolution of various painting styles and drew our attention to details in the sculptures and paintings that we otherwise wouldn't have noticed. There was a Damien Hirst exhibit on while we were there and Lia also helped make it interesting and relevant for us. We really enjoyed our time with Lia.Great tour at the Galleria Borghese

Yanira had been referred to us by a friend who had taken a tour with her so we knew the tour would be great. The tour was so good she took time before we got into spaces where talking was not allowed to give the history, insight, and humorous back stories. You can spend days in the Vatican but our schedule (and a 15 yo) only allowed a couple hours and it was the perfect. Yanira was able to show us spaces and cut through busy areas to allow us to maximize our time and also gave us tips for things to do after our tour in the Vatican and in Rome. So grateful we were able to spend some time with Yanira and hope to do another tour with her soon.VIP vatican tour
