António was very pleasant even though we were late getting to our prearranged meeting. He was hired to take us around the Gulbukien museum. He was knowledgeable about Mr Gulbeckian’s life but told us nothing about what we were to see in the exhibits. He walked around with us but seemed to know nothing about the art. I felt we paid a lot for no information. The collection was wonderful and l was fascinated by the art nouveau jewellery which I didn’t know was there. It would have been interesting to hear about the designers.

Our tour was supposed to be a museum tour but it turned out that the museum was closed. Diolo, being the skilled tour guide and beatboxer that he is, thought quickly, improved and offered us options on what we could do as an alternative. He took us on a tour around Lisbon that gave us some of the old and new sights that showed us what makes Lisbon the vibrant city that it is. Occasionally displaying his hype beatboxing skills, Diolo’s love for Lisbon and exuberant energy made our detour one of a kind! Andre guided my wife and I on an e-bike tour with a stop at a local lunch spot. Andre was very knowledgeable and his love for history and storytelling was a highlight of the trip. We also really enjoyed the local restaurant he selected and he guided us through the menu selecting several items that locals would eat. We would have been less adventurous without his help. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the experience and feel it did not align with what was advertised. The tour lacked the depth and substance we were expecting. There were no meaningful talking points or historical insights shared, and we didn’t stop at any locations for further explanation or context. It felt more like a basic walk with brief identifications of buildings rather than an engaging, informative experience. To be candid, we believe we would have received more value from a complimentary walking tour, which is quite disheartening given the investment we made. First off, I have to say that Inêz was available within minutes as our original tour guide canceled unexpectedly. So thank you once again for filling in on such short notice. We walked through amazing neighborhoods, heard about the amazing history of Lisboa, tried Pastéis de Belém once again, and enjoyed her pointing out so many little details of structures, monuments, and the history of the city and people. She was able to answer all our curious questions and you could see that she was happy to share her favorite city she calls home with us for a few hours. We had the best first morning in Lisbon with Sonia on the food tour. Sonia is so knowledgeable and passionate about Lisbon and of course it’s wonderful food. We had ten tastings which were all amazing including delightful food and locals drinks. In between stops Sónia is very happy to pass on her knowledge about Lisbon and its amazing history. Highly recommend, especially at the start of the break to familiarise yourself with the area. Amazing food tour with Sonia
