Anna expertly guided my wife and I through the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. She was able to intuitively perceive what was important to us and custom guide us through the works of the museum to illustrate the golden age of the Netherlands, it’s history, culture, and it’s people. We were fortunate that Ana had the time and she was willing to extend our two hour tour… and after 3 1/2 hours we were still fascinated by all that she showed us. Not only is Anna very smart and well prepared, but she does a great job of engaging with you and making sure you are on the same page for what you want see and not just going through a checklist of items. We visited the Rijksmuseum, which is a huge facility with thousands of possible things to see, and the first thing she did was pause and help us think through what types of exhibits we were interested in. Once we decided that, it took the pressure off trying to "see everything" which was impossible in a 2 hour tour. We moved directly to the areas we wanted and never felt rushed. The resulting conversation about the exhibits was easy and free flowing allowing her to tailor the tour to our specific areas of interest and answer all of our questions. She is a real pro! We highly recommend! Simply the Best!

Rolf is an amazing art historian guide with incredible knowledge of Rijksmuseet and all its treasures. Rolf took us around to all the highlights, gave us a lot of background to and details of all the art whether they were paintings, statues, glass ware, silver ware or doll houses. I think I will never look at a painting the same way again, now I know what to look for! Rolf is very enthusiastic and passionate about art and we all had an amazing time. We spent 2 hours with Arunabha in the Rijksmuseum where we learnt a lot abour Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Vermeer and other painters of this time. Arunabha has a great knowledge of the painters and their life - we discovered some hidden connections between these different artists. At times she would read the plaque, which we could have easily done ourselves. I think I just needed more history and understanding of the art itself. A couple of weeks ago we took a combined Rijksmuseum / Van Gogh Museums private tour with art historian Merel - she was fabulous! She took us on a masterpiece tour of both the museums, which are situated within walking distance to one another, and gave us subtle insights on the artwork as well as the trials and travails of the artist, such that one could only hope glean from a passionate art historian. We found her extremely knowledgeable, good natured and most importantly, she always had a smile on her face. Merel is the sort of guide you can't forget and one that you always compare your other similar experiences with! Art Historian Merel Rocks!
