A delightful experience. Elena superbly guided us through some wonderful iconic sights, & hidden gems. It was terrific to share stories of our respective countries. We were so intrigued with Alba's stories and anecdotes that the time flew by. She brought us to every area of the Alcazar and walked the gardens with us. We not only heard the history, but the legends of the times as well. We felt as if we were walking through time as Alba brought history to life for us. Elena was fantastic! She took us to several different stops with a variety of flavors and explained the historical and cultural context of each dish and paired it well with drinks appropriate for the taste and the locale. Each place was clearly the favorite of locals as opposed to a tourist spot. Elena not only had deep knowledge of the wine and drink selections but also explained the cultural nuances of our surroundings. She also explained a lot about Flamenco and its origins and histories as well as the Andalusian language living right in front of us! Very much worth the value! We had toured the “big sites” as part of a larger group tour. We had a free afternoon and asked Laura to arrange a walk that would show us more of Sevilla. From the Plaza de España to the Triana neighborhood and many places in between, she did just that! My wife and I did an orientation tour on our first morning in Seville with Alba. We have done many Withlocals tours over the years and this was without a doubt one of the best. Alba is lovely, very friendly and so incredibly knowledgeable. We did a tour with Alba of the Cathedral and Alcazar and she was absolutely fantastic. One of the best tour guides we had in Spain. Laura was a fun guide. She.s a historian with a specialty in women.s history so she can tell you not only about the tiles, the ceilings, the windows and the floors. Elena was an excellent guide, with a really deep knowledge of Seville culture, food and traditions. She is also very relaxed and fun which made the day fly by. The food was, of course, excellent and she took us to small family run tapas establishments for some really different dishes. We ate too much, laughed a lot and learned loads. Elena provided us with a fantastic food tour experience in Triana. We tried lots of different foods and drinks, and were very full by the end of the tour. Elena also gave a lot of great historical background information on the food and neighborhood. Elena has training in gastronomy/wine, in addition to being born and raised in Seville, making her a fantastic tour guide. The one area for improvement would be around organization. Elena reached out to reschedule our tour the day before, which luckily we were able to accommodate. We loved Elena! She is so warm, professional and deeply knowledgeable about her home town. We had such an amazing time that we booked her again for the following day! Seamlessly integrating information about history, culture, and food, she deeply enriched our visit to Sevilla. We learned and experienced things that we would never have had access to otherwise — for example, a bar steeped in the history of flamenco as a form of artistic resistance that served an exclusive variety of orange wine and a fantastic dish of pork prepared in an Arabian style. Everywhere we went we were warmly welcomed because we were with her. We did not encounter tourists or other guides at any of our food stops. Elena was also very generous with recommendations and answers to our questions beyond the time that we spent with her.
