We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 hour walking tour with Tiberiu. It was easy to message him beforehand and arrange our meeting place. Tiberiu met us on time, with a chimney cake for us to share! He gave us options of where to go and what to see. He pitched the tour just right, plenty of information but not overwhelming. He answered all our questions. Très déçue de cette visite, car Andras n’avait pas l’air d’avoir préparé quelque chose. On un peu suivi… je ne sais pas quoi. La visite n’avait rien de familiale: de la marche d’un endroit de la ville à un autre et enfin les enfants n’ont jamais eu le gâteau promis dans la visite… Bref, les enfants n’ont pas aimé. Hi Nich was very nice to us, we had very short of time although he take us to all the beautiful parts of pest and also to the beautiful buda castle and into famous cafe near parliament. Gabor was a wonderful tour guide, very considerate of what we would find interesting, and a fascinating person. He showed us some hidden places that I would have never been able to find by myself, and made myself and my 10 year old son feel very comfortable. I would recommend Gabor to anyone travelling to Budapest. We had such a fantastic tour and Gabor made the tour fun for our 7 year son. Gabor is very knowledgeable and made the tour enjoyable for our son by telling him some great stories, he really knows his history. Wir waren eine Gruppe mit 8 Erwachsenen und 8 Kindern (2-14 J.). Treffpunkt am Heldenplatz, los ging’s mit der Geschichte Ungarns ab anno 894, zwischendrin in der langen Vorstellung mit Rätseln und Zeichentrickfilmchen für die Kinder. Danach dann die Langoschverköstigung, die Führung beim Schloss und abschließend ging es durch den Park zu einem super Kinderspielplatz, von Kindern für Kinder entworfen. Aus der geplanten zweistündigen Führung wurden es dann doch knapp 4 Stunden, alles in allem war es aber doch ein schöner Nachmittag mit sehr interessanten Informationen die kurzweilig präsentiert wurden.Familienführung

My husband, 3 year old son, and I went on a 3 hour tour with Gabor and it was just phenomenal. Gabor involved our son and made it interesting for him, and he tailored the tour to our personal interests in history and architecture. He had a vast knowledge of the city and was interesting as well. He answered all our questions and gave advice for the rest of our trip. I highly recommend Gabor! Absolutely fantastic knowledge and insider tips to the city. Recommended highly! 👍👍 The website/app is great. I love that you can communicate with your host prior to the session. This allowed us to create a special itinerary over 2 days so that our 7yo child would have happy memories of the city. Gabor was a friendly and knowledgable guide who was also patient with our two sons, who were very focused on getting ice cream. :-) We learned a lot about the Jewish quarter and Hero's Square and saw some sights to go back to. We ended at the top of Buda Castle with wonderful views of the city. My children were not very cooperative some of the time, but my husband and I enjoyed it very much!Friendly and knowledgable

Our tour with Gabor was fantastic! We are a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids, ages 11, 10, 8, and 6) and we toured the castle district. It was a lot of walking for the kids, but Gabor was very patient with us and gave the kids fun “missions” (certain things to look for) while we walked. Gabor is a wealth of information and we really appreciated the mix of general history, interesting facts, and personal stories. The tour does not end at the same place you start, but Gabor is very good at making sure you know how to get back. We would definitely recommend touring with Gabor, especially if you are new to, or visiting, Budapest. We much preferred it than trying to figure things out on our own! Fantastic for Our Family

“I had no idea!” That’s what I found myself thinking (and saying) dozens of times during Gabor’s tour. We were utterly amazed and completely charmed by all the wonderful things Gabor pointed out and told us about during our tour. He is an encyclopedia of knowledge but a warm and charismatic tour guide that kept everyone, including our three small children, engaged throughout the our time with him. He took us to several places in the city that we had previously walked through (or by) but the “hidden” gems he shared with us made his tour a true highlight of our trip. Thank you, Gabor! I needed to get north of Budapest, to the village of Pilisszentlélek to film the Milky Way last Friday night, October 12. I contacted Gabor and he very quickly worked it out to pick me uo age Budapest Intercontinental Hotel along the Danube. We instantly hit it off and it soon became MUCH more than a glorified tax drive. Gabor filled the drive both ways with lots of history, mixed with local color and interest. He also listened to me and answered my questions. A VERY knowledgeable guide who obviously wants to give you his best and he does. A great trip to Pilisszentlélek, out and back and I got a few nice images as well. Thanks Gabor!An excellent tour from Gabor!

Gabor’s tour was our first experience with Withlocals and it was a fantastic way to explore Budapest! We learned and saw so much more than we would have on our own. Istvan was very kind and interested in meeting the needs of our group of 2 families (4 adults, 4 kids). However, his shy and soft-spoken nature meant that it was difficult to hear what he had to say, and we usually had to tease information out of him by asking questions. It wasn’t always clear why he had taken us to a location because he didn’t offer much information or context. Chatting one on one he certainly had more to offer, but unfortunately, he struggled to hold the interest of kids and adults alike. We appreciated him bringing us to the unique cafe, and the fact that he really did try hard, but we didn’t get as much out of the tour that we had hoped. Kind but not engaging

Really good experience as a first time visitor in Budapest. Booked the 5 hour tour and it was a nice experience. Zsofia took the time to show me round the city with quite a few delightful detours. Cabbage strudel in one of the markets, the beautiful library, the Paris passage and the ruin bar in the Jewish district. And she was so kind, waiting with me for a while to get a taxi. Zsofia has a very chill calm energy which worked very well. The hours went by so quickly and very enjoyable. Would recommend spending the day with Zsofia to show you round. Great tour with Zsofia

Éramos un grupo de viajes organizados y yo era la coordinadora. Por lo que escribo en nombre de todas las clientas. Queríamos a alguien local y no participar del negocio de las grandes empresas y por eso contratamos con withlocals, pero fue decepcionante. 1- LLEGADA: Dalma llegó 45 min tarde y todo ese tiempo estuvimos esperándola en la plaza pasando mucho frío. Aunque escribió diciendo que iba de camino 15 min antes del tour, a las 12.00h (hora de inicio del tour), no pude contactar con ella, a pesar de escribirle varios mensajes. Respondió muy tarde, diciendo que venía de camino, y luego, media después de la hora de inicio, volvió a contactar diciendo que le quedaban otros 10 min y que podíamos entrar en un café. Para ese entonces ya estábamos muertas de frío. No pasa nada si una guía está enferma, todos somos humanos y nos enfermamos y podemos llegar tarde, pero debe AVISAR al cliente, sobre todo cuando la temperatura es de 5°C , y también debe CONTACTAR con el cliente y atender los mensajes. Yo soy guía profesional en mi ciudad y estoy acostumbrada a dar ese trato. A todas nos pareció una falta de profesionalidad y una falta de respeto al cliente. Cuando llegó por fin, apenas tuvimos una muy simple disculpa. Se presentó y empezó a explicar directamente, sin preguntarnos de dónde veníamos, si era la primera vez que visitábamos la ciudad y esas cosas que esperas de un tour privado. 2- EXPLICACIONES: fue un tour en el que faltaron muchas cosas por ver. Es un tour de 3 horas en las que sólo visitamos la Plaza de los Héroes, la Ópera, la pastelería y la Basílica. Yo he estado en Budapest anteriormente y sé que tiene mucha más historia que esto. El tour no incluyó el Parlamento, los zapatos en la orilla del Danubio, el río, explicación de la zona de Buda, el mercado central o la sinagoga. Ni siquiera explicó anécdotas como por ejemplo las estatuas de gente corriente por la calle o algunas cosas sobre el holocausto. Es cierto que las explicaciones de lo que vimos fueron interesantes, por eso he puesto algunas estrellas, pero siento que para 3 horas de tour fue absolutamente incompleto. 3- BREAK: hicimos una parada para comer. Aunque lo que estaba previsto para comer eran pasteles, a las 14.00h teníamos mucha hambre (empezamos el tour con casi una hora de retraso) y debíamos comer el almuerzo, así que pedimos de comer. Sinceramente, todas hubiéramos preferido emplear ese tiempo en explorar la ciudad y así habríamos comido algo antes del inicio del tour. Ese tiempo Dalma lo empleó en escribir las fechas importantes de la historia de Hungría y darnos un mapa con los lugares para visitar, algo que no estuvo mal. En general, esperábamos muchísimo más de un tour privado con un guía local. La próxima vez, si el guía está enfermo y no puede realizar el tour, creo que debe dar la opción al cliente de hacerlo en inglés con otro guía o cancelar. Decepcionante
