I and my 3 children (8y,10y and 14y) went on a city trip to Valencia and I was looking for a kind of guide who could make a tour interesting for children. After a long search I came across Marcos 'family tour' advertisement. He felt good and so I booked his family tour Valencia. It is always a bit exciting, because certainly the youngest of 8 years old does not speak English (the other does well), except for a few words and therefore there is a degree of difficulty to get such a child involved in a tour where English is spoken. However, Marcos was really fantastic and through patience, interaction, but also by paying attention to each child, he made sure that each child understood his story or question. Of course I sometimes translated a bit for my youngest child. What really gave his tour power, was by working with images and a local tasting. I am a culture and history freak myself, but he also fascinated me with his stories about about the city, which was very educational for me too. In 3 hours he took us through the old city and took us to a number of sights. Marcos fascinated us enormously and we quickly formed a bond. This is very nice. It was a pity that he was going on holiday the next day, otherwise I would have booked another tour with him immediately. Marcos also does customized tours if you want that. His communication is very fast, which we Dutch people really like. If you are looking for a quality guide, then Marcos is the right person for you. Our guide was Marcos and he was one of the best tour guides we've had. We were travelling with our three young kids and Marcos did a brilliant job of tailoring the narrative to ensure they were always engaged and interested. He also incorporated a number of unplanned detours to get the kids ice cream!! It was our first time in Valencia so the itinerary curated by Marcos was bang-on the money. I was actually surprised with the range of sites we were able to cover in 2 hours. One of the subtle highlights was walking through the back-lanes rather than on the main streets all of the time. It gives a greater sense of the Old Town, it's history but also the way of life now. Great job Marcos and thanks very much.Well Organised and Great Value

Marcos was a great guide! He was wonderful at navigating the needs & interests of me and my wife, my mother in law who is very into Jewish history, and our two kids (8 & 6). He totally engaged the kids by getting on their level (physically) and responded quickly when we needed the many bathroom breaks (small bladders...). When we go back to Valencia, he's our first call!SO GOOD! Great with our kids!

Mike did a great job in creating a tour adapted to the interests of the whole family and managed to keep our two kids focussed on the various details of the streets, buildings and history of Valencia. Touring Valencia with Esther was a wonderful experience for my 10 y/old son and me! We had such a great time with her showing us her city and telling us stories about its past (beware of bats! 😊) and its present (the way we looked at graffiti all around changed completely into a game, after hanging around with her! He’s a teacher by profession, and it really showed in the way he was able to get the kids involved, keep their attention, and explain interesting things using stories and humor. We did the family tour with Marco. He was the perfect guide. There was 3 children in our group, 10, 8 and 1 and they all loved it and were entertained from finish to end. Even though it was in the high 30s Marco made the tour very comfortable finding shady spots and going at a nice pace. He was very knowledgable but interesting and his passion shone through. We had an amazing experience, and we highly recommend Marcos. We felt like we had a friend showing us around Valencia not just a tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and has excellent communication skills. He made our experience personal like we were part of his family. We normally use Rick Steves walking tours form his books or audio guides when we first get to a city, but in this case, we invested a little in getting a guide. What a great tour - I did a private tour so just the 2 of us and we covered everything… from deep questions about history to the best restaurants to go to. We hit all areas of the city and adjusted to my pace… which is a bit faster. I would not only recommend, but would do it again as I am sure there are many more stories that I would enjoy.Awesome day

Maria was very flexible after I booked the wrong tour initially. My wife and I toured around the Canyamelar - Cabanyal districts for 2 and a half hours. Although we know something of the area, having visited several times before, we were introduced to lots of new aspects of the area, from historical details to architectural examples, street art, museums and restaurants. We had a great tour with Cesar. The communication with the meeting point was all clear and Cesar was incredibly knowledgeable and proud of Valencia. He asked us what we liked and how much local info we wanted to hear, which was great. The food stops were places that were generally used by locals and his recommendations were great. He also explained why he’d chosen the dishes and their connection to Valencia. Cesar has a great sense of humour and it felt as though we were with a friend rather than a tour guide on another booking. Marcos gave us a great tour. He had difficult circumstances with the holiday and the power cut but coped with a smile and adapted the tour to suit us. Loved the history and the architecture. Marcos is easy to talk to and it felt more like a friend taking us around the city. He also sent us a load of information and photos afterwards which was helpful for our next few days. Only comment is that it would have been useful to know that some places were closed on a public holiday as we didn’t realise that and may have chosen a different day - but it was not a problem - only reason for a 9 not a 10. I really love Withlocals and try to use it whenever we are in a new city. Super Tour!

Too many our guides simply just tell you facts, such as the date of this building and the name of that building etc.; facts that one forgets within a few hours after the tour.
