Thank you Niko and family for great night!Wonderful family experience
We had a wonderful and fun unforgettable experience with Niko and his family. It was my husband and two children (age 7 & 4) and we were welcomed into Niko’s home. We were able to complete a delicious meal from beginning to end. We all went into their garden where they grow all their food. We picked vegetables and fruit and ate it right off the trees. We then went into their kitchen and cut and prepared the food we were going to eat. And then came the meal! We ate in an old wine cellar and had the nose delicious meal! It felt so amazing to eat the food that we picked and prepared ourselves. We also tasted their grappa and wine and olive oil all made by the family!
We highly recommend this to anyone who wants the authentic experience of “cooking a meal for your friends and family”.
Thank you to Niko and his family who were so welcoming! Amazing Family Cooking Experience!
Such a special day. Niko brought us to his small farm where we picked the fruits and veg for our meal. His lovely mother prepared the meal while we learned about the area and sampled his fruit brandies and wines. The lunch was traditional and super super delicious. More food than we could eat! Then he dropped us back in Dubrovnik. Perfect quiet relaxing day after lots of sightseeing. Lovely day on Nikos farm and super tasty lunch
Niko is amazing- extremely friendly, and knowledgable. His family's vineyard & house tasting room are stunning. Thank you for the delicious wine tasting, farm-to-table lunch! Will definitely return if ever in Croatia again!
Don't Miss a Vineyard Day if in Dubrovnik!
Our group of 4 had a wonderful experience touring Niko's beautiful property and garden, as well as learning about his fascinating family history. The meal he prepared for us was amazing and we also loved his wines and liquors. Worth every penny!Unforgettable experience and meal
We had such a wonderful time, completely exceeded our expectations! The wine, the food, our host Niko were all fantastic! Niko was a wonderful host, genuine, knowledgeable and gracious. I would highly recommend this experience! Probably the best tour experience of our Slovenia/Croatia trip. You helped to make our birthday celebration for our friend a truly memorable one. Thank you Niko! We wish all the best for you and I will always think of you and our visit every time I use my embroidered table runner. Awesome Experience!
We made a wonderful visit to this beautiful farmhouse from 16th centery and had a homemade dinner and wine, all products from the farm. Nico was a great host and we where treated like special guests. Very friendly atmosphere and welcoming. Food was amazing. Nico picked us up in the city and drove us back. If you have the chance, dont hesitate to go there.Fantastic experience
Niko, our guide for the day, picked us up and drove us to his family’s small farm for a tour and an authentic meal cooked in a brick oven. The tour included eating fresh figs from the tree, a little brandy tasting and wine tasting. Great way to spend the afternoon in the countryside.A Rural Experience
Y husband and I had the best time with Niko. He shared his knowledge of the area and his multigenerational home. We toured his gardens and tasted fresh off the tree, and right out of the ground. They prepared a wonderful meal with ingredients from his garden. Everything was beyond expectation and beautifully done. If you like to get away from tourist invaded spaces and learn more about the local cults d way of life do not hesitate to book a tour with Niko Don’t hesitate to book with Niko!
We had a very enjoyable time with Niko on our visit to his rural home. We found out about the local area and were treated to a scenic drive away from Dubrovnik. Our traditional lunch made from local produce was delicious with his reserva wine completing the experience. The tasting of his own flavoured brandy's, prior to the meal, was unusual and enjoyable. All the arrangements went very smoothly and Niko was an excellent communicator. Interesting experience and attentive host
Niko was wonderful. Very personable. The winery is beautiful, & the food/wine was amazing. Well worth it. We highly recommend this tour.
Niko is an incredible guide! He was quick to respond to questions and the actual tour exceeded all expectations. He picked me up at my hotel and took me to the family winery which was from the 16th century. Such a beautiful building and their gardens were massive. Dinner was a vegetable soup (ingredients from the garden), peka (meat and vegetables cooked in a wood burning oven on their patio) and a warm carob flour cake served with ice cream. Each course was paired beautifully with one of their family wines which were extraordinary. Niko is friendly and gracious and made me feel like family. Highly recommend!!Once in a lifetime experience
We had a great day with Niko. Seeing his family farm and having a meal and tasting their wine was exactly what we like to experience when traveling. Highly recommend this experience for getting out of Dubrovnik and seeing more of the country. Niko was fantastic!
For our last day in Dubrovnik we booked a tour with Niko and our vacation could not have ended any better. Niko communicated with us about where to pick us up, showed up on time!
He then took us to the observation deck Vidikovac. Because of the wind the day before the cable carts were not running and Niko made it possible for us to go and see Dubrovnik from the top.
He is a very proud owner of a home that has been in his family for hundreds of years in the beautiful country side. Wine and fruit tasting, a delicious lunch. Niko will answer your questions, shows you around his property while he prepares your food!
At the end of this excursion Niko dropped us off at the airport for us to fly home! Thank you Niko for a wonderful experience.Food and Wine with Niko
We absolutely loved our day with Niko. Thank you for opening up your doors to us and providing the ultimate hospitality. The food, and wine were delicious. We enjoyed the conversations and seeing a side of Croatia we otherwise wouldn’t have. Thank you again Niko and family! 10/10 would recommend!
My parents and I had a lovely time visiting Niko’s farm and winery in the southern most part of Croatia. The 40 minute drive there in his comfortable car give us the opportunity to see a little more of the beautiful Croatian countryside, and Niko gave us a great deal of fascinating information about his country, his family and the winery during the trip. Once there, we enjoyed sampling several liquors made with the local produce and then feasted on a lunch that was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend the experience and wish that we had had longer to stay.
Niko picked us up at our hotel in Dubrovnik and drove us about 25 min to his family house and farm near the airport for a great tasting and meal of the wines and food his family grows and makes on site. Super nice and knowledgeable. A great sampling of wines, amaro and grappa.
Lots of good conversation.Great Host
Niko was a wonderful host! We learned about the family’s history and enjoyed tasting his wine products. We were delighted to get to enjoy a Croatian family meal. The facilities reflect the family’s passion and pride of ownership. It was a great experience!Great experience!
We had a fantastic dinner and winery tour with Niko last week. Before dinner, Niko shared his family's history with the winery, his knowledge of the region and let us taste the fruits of his garden, straight from the vine. This was followed by an aperitif tasting and a traditional dinner that was truly fresh and wonderful! Niko also remembered to acknowledge the birthday celebration that was part of our family dinner. Would highly recommend! Lovely experience with Niko!
Arranged this trip through ''With Locals'' and Niko our host for the day very kindly picked us up close to our apartment in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of the walled city of Dubrovnik. The traffic was a bit busy at the time of day we chose but that did not phase Niko who elected to give us the scenic route away from the main roads. He was like a tour guide, pointing out thigs of interest along the way, took us very close to the Bosnian border and showed us one of the many check points. There were old ruins we passed and relics from the troubles and we discussed quite a bit about what it was like for Niko and his family growing up and about how close it came to his family losing the winery. We eventually arrived at his home / winery and we were given the grand tour of the kitchen garden, a run through of all the produce, a free sample of lovely tomatoes straight from the fine and a nice welcome from his family. We venture then into the cellar and sampled some delicious liqueurs, then he took us outside to show us what was cooking for lunch in the big brick oven outside (the smell was fantastic) veal with potatoes and vegetable infuse with smoke from the dried bay leave he put into the oven just before serving. We then sampled all of the wines they produce on the estate and got through quite a few before sitting down to a lovely home cooked three course lunch. Very full and very satisfied we took a different route home stopping at a very tranquil old castle (Castle of the Falcons) to take some breathtaking pictures before continuing our journey back towards Dubrovnik. Niko kindly dropped us off at the top of the cable car and we stopped for a drink took in the vista and got the cable car back to to town All in all a fantastic day out which for us was the highlight of our trip to Dubrovnik, Thanks Niko for the hospitality and sorry for the delay in posting this review, hopefully it was worth waiting for :) A top tasting experience in Dubrovnik
Thx for a fantastic tour. We enjoyed the beautifull b&b wineyard - the slow cooked menu, fantastic place - and interesting tastings of the wines. Loved that there was no rush. Highly recommended.Much more than Dubrovnik
Nico was the perfect host! We got picked up near our appartement and were taken on a beautiful ride across the countryside and near the beautiful cliffs. We then got a tour of Niko’s farm and started with a homemade liqour taste test (which were all amazing), we then moved on to the dinner which was the best we had thus far in Dubrovnik. This of course being accompanied with the locally produced wines. Niko was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly throughout the whole experience, would recommend to everyone when you find yourself in Dubrovnik!Amazing wine, amazing food
We had a little trouble finding each other at the start of the trip from our port, but we were finally able to connect. Niko was so informative and so friendly it was amazing! Answering all of our questions and giving us the tour of his farm was just the beginning. He literally could not do enough to make us feel welcome and take care of us. And the soup that his Mother made for us was some of the best soup that I think I’ve ever had in my life! And the food and drink was never ending!
If you get the chance to have this experience, do not pass it up as it will be one that you remember forever. It really gave you a great sense of his family and of his people and culture. Thanks Niko for an awesome time! One of the best experiences on our Mediterranean trip!
We wanted to sample some wine, and get out of the Dubrovnik for an afternoon. Niko delivered! We arranged a convenient meeting place, and he drove us to his family's vineyard. Along the way he filled us in on the region, and how his family established the current winery. We stopped to see the coastline a few times, so I could get some photos. When we got to the winery, he gave us a brief tour, and we headed into the tasting room. There we tasting his wines, liquors, and even so Croatian "grappa". We then enjoyed a wonderful meal, made with local ingredients, cooked in their outdoor oven. His mom made us some wonderful soup. We ended up buying a few bottles, and sharing with our friends. Definitely a recommended trip. Enjoying wine int he country
We had the best experience with Niko! He picked us up from the hotel and we drove to an amazing Castle with the most amazing view over the mountains and between Montenegro acresia and Bosnia. it was delightful to go around at this fortress. After that with drove through the mountains and the valley to Nico's house we're first we made tour at the garden and where nickel grows everything that we actually ate and for instance tomatoes eggplants cucumbers lettuce and all the rest. and then we had some homemade liqueurs and then it was time for the wine tasting and the food the food was absolutely amazing and actually I think it was the best meal we had in Dubrovnik (and we ate at the Michelin star restaurant as well ) and the experience was delightful . at the end it was my husband's birthday so Niko brought a cake as a surprise which was beautiful and tasty and a very nice surprise for my husband. Overall it was such a nice experience and a very well spent afternoon.Wow! A must have!
We use With Locals whenever it is available and have always been very happy. However Niko’s will always be one of our favorites. He was so knowledgeable about wine and food and the lunch was delicious. His engaging personality made the whole experience perfect.
Don’t miss this, absolutely top notch! One of our favorite tours!
What à lovely sunny day it was. The perfect weather to enjoy the food and wine expérience tour hosted by Niko. We were picked up at our appartment, Niko was right on schedule and drove us to his beautiful winery. On the way he stopped to show us à magnificent view. Once at the winery, we first got a tour and good explanation about the vegetables they grow. In the meanwhile, a very tasty stew was waiting for us in the outdoor oven. We tried Some liqors first before the food was served, with of course the delishous wine. It was just an outstanding prépared lunch we got, with salad and réal good bread. Niko really did everything to give us a fun and beautiful day out in the country, with delightful food and wine off the land. We super recommend it, à must-do when visiting Dubrovnik! So again, thank you very much Niko, a big 👏 !What a great trip with a fantastic host
Nico was the perfect host, picking us up from our hotel and explaining some local sites and history on the way to his beautiful farm. Beginning with tasting his handmade liquors and finishing with an exquisite three course meal and paired wines from his vineyard. A truly delightful experience and one I highly recommended. Exceptional service and experience
Niko provided amazing food, wine and information about the surrounding countryside and city. A brilliant evening with a great host.
It was birthday of my husband, and one of my best decision was surprise for him at Niko`s winery! Lovely atmosphere, local domestic cuisine, very friendly host. I do recommend experience with Niko to everybody. The most local evening on Niko`s Winery in Croatia
Our afternoon with Niko was delightful. After taking us on a tour of the farm we went into the wine tasting room. The room us cozy and cute. Niko first gave us tastes of various before dinner liquors. Then on to the star of the show, the dinner! It was so good! I’d like to go back for a cooking lesson. Niko is warm and friendly and provides a lot of history about his farm and the surrounding area. We absolutely loved our experience. Oh and the wine! A different one for each course. There a a few bottles going to the US with us…What a lovely time at a lovely country winery
What a joy it was to peer into the life of a family who had worked the same land for countless generations. Niko and sister Paulina were wonderful hosts. We were picked up and whisked off to their family farm for a tour of the gardens and orchards to start. As a gardener from the USA I was impressed by the variety of fruits and vegetables growing and our timing was such that we could taste some of the ripening fruits. I gorged on 2 varieties of fresh figs. The rich soils that have been tended for centuries did not go unnoticed.
Niko gave us a brief tutorial on the grapes and fermentation, just enough to have an understanding of what was to come with the tasting.
Finally we were taken to the tasting room where we started with aperitifs of cherry, walnut, carob and other cordials all infused into grapa. Such delicious extremes in flavor and sweetness. All this before we sat for a traditional ‘under the bell’ meal of local veg and meats, soup, bread dipped in their olive oil and a finisher of a flan. Each course was paired with a different wine that was perfectly matched.
This personalized tour for 5 women was met with charm and enthusiasm and it most refreshing to see the passion of this family.
I am grateful for what they had to share and the fruits of their labors.
I would highly recommend this tour!!!Its not just wine
Niko was the most personable and amazing host for our trip to his families vineyard. It’s a small vineyard, and everything they possibly can is grown on site. Salad, grapes, vegetables.
The food was all hyper local and the wine was amazing. Niko is a trained sommelier and this was great. The service was so personable.
If you like good local food and wine I highly recommend this. The best tour of our trip
We booked this tour with Nikko and then stayed at his agriturismo for five nights and hired Niko to take us around the area. We had a fabulous time!!! If you want to live like a local, book with Niko!!Niko is the best!!!!
When you want a break from the typical Dubrovnik tourism, treat yourself to a regional trip to experience the sites, sounds, tastes, and experiences of a lifetime. Niko is an extremely welcoming and informative host who shows you all his family's artisan crafts passed down through generations. You learn about the farming and life experiences of the Konavle Valley over time- stories of struggles and success. You wander the gardens and vineyards and orchards to learn where your awesome meal and drinks come from and how they carefully tend their property. The meal was fab and the freshness of the ingredients really came through! The housemade spirits and wines are really unique and enjoyable- bring an extra suitcase to bring some home with you! MUST-DO:Awesome Agritourism near Dubrovnik
The day spent with Niko at his winery was outstanding. I have told all my friends it was like no other visit to a winery. We were welcomed by Niko with wonderful liquors and sweets made from his farm. And instead of a wine tasting we were served his selections of wines as we dined on a delicious lunch. Not only did we learn about his wines, the region, his family, but also the history of Dubrovnik.
It was a highlight of my trip! One I will never forget.
Niko is a wonderful and delightful person.
John DrewerA day with Niko at his winery.
We were treated to a wonderful afternoon with our gracious and engaging host Niko. After picking us up and driving us to his beautiful family home, we started off learning about the variety of aperitifs they make in a lovely tasting room. Niko gave us many samples and explanations with each one. We learned about his family business and the lifestyle and customs of this Croatian family. We were served a huge and delicious lunch, farm to table, prepared by his mother and his wife. We had three different wines with our meal. Afterwards Niko went out of his way to drive us back by way of the highest Peak where we took many photos. Our visit with Niko was truly the highlight of our visit to Croatia. Fantastic!
Niko and his family are passionate about caring for their guests and provided my wife and I with an unforgettable, incredible evening. The wine and spirits were of great quality and complemented the authentic, home-cooked meal perfectly. It is abundantly evident that Niko and his family put love into their family traditions, and we could not have asked for better food, wine, conversation, or setting. Thank you Niko, for making us feel welcome in Croatia!Incredible experience
What a lovely experience! Niko was so knowledgeable, accommodating, and charming: the perfect host. It was a beautiful drive from Dubrovnik, followed by a liquor tasting, and an incredible home cooked meal with ingredients straight from the garden! (Be sure to specify if you’re vegetarian because it was veal) The wines were lovely along with the olive oil, which we bought plenty of to take home with us. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough! Only negative for me was that we ate in the wine cellar (which was beautiful) but I personally would have preferred to eat on the terrace on such a perfect day in such spectacular countryside. Amazing experience, thank you!
Let's face it...we've all been on wine tours and did our tasting and moved on to the next winery. This tour is nothing like that. Niko is a wonderful host with a great laugh who is a wealth of knowledge about Croatia, its history and generally what's going on.
The tour gave us some amazing views (and photo opportunities) that we wouldn't have gotten otherwise and we also got to see what the agricultural region just outside of Dubrovnik is all about. We visited his family winery that has been producing wine for centuries, ate a fantastic home cooked meal made with farm fresh ingredients (I forgot what farm to table food actually tasted like!), tasted some amazing brandy and wine and shared lots of interesting stories and facts.
This is a must see tour if you want to experience something other than the standard sights of Dubrovnik / Croatia.A Must Do Experience!
Niko was welcoming and knowledgeable about great wine and food. It was like we were family in this beautiful rustic setting! Make sure you buy some wine and olive oil to enjoy at home. Great moments and memories. Thank you Niko. You are born to host your guests! Cheers, Bill and PattyFamily Vineyard with Warmth and Great Wine
I booked the "Wine and other tradition product tasting with lunch" tour with Niko as part of celebrating my friend's 50th birthday in Dubrovnik and was so pleased with the whole experience. Niko was extremely kind and managed to fit us in even if he already had some other guests as well. We got picked up at our preferred location just outside the old town of Dubrovnik and then got taken on a beautiful and very scenic drive to his private home and vineyard 30 minutes outside Dubrovnik. Such a beautiful and peaceful place. Started the whole experience with tasting 6 different liquors and some nice snacks all locally produced. Afterwards we had a 4 course lunch with 1 white, 1 rose and 2 red wines to taste. Everything was just delicious so our only regret was that we couldn't eat anymore. The family were also so kind and did a fantastic birthday cake for my friend - so was so happy about that. The wine was unlimited and the whole experience just so generous and nice so cannot rave enough about it. Can only highly recommend this experience if you like good food and wine - I would love to come back. Amazing lunch and wine tasting experience going to Niko's private home
We had the best time on our tour and tasting with Niko! He was very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed hearing about his family history. The wine and food were DELICIOUS! If you book this, definitely come hungry!!Amazing experience!
What an amazing experience! We truly enjoyed the food and wine but especially our host Niko! Definitely an experience that will be held in our memories forever. We wish you well in our future, Niko!Thank you Niko!
