Everything was exceptional! Michail's talent for creating an unforgettable meal with traditional and amazing Greek dishes was most enjoyable. His attention to our request and preparation of our meal was an experience we will never forget. He prepared a grilled fish dinner while we observed the preparation of each dish was accompanied by interesting details of the ingredients, cooking process and flavors. He shared his love and passion for his craft in every step of his meal. The freshly caught fish and shrimp, yogurt from his mother's farm and honey from his uncle added a feeling of being included in a family holiday meal. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. We shared lots of stories and laughter during our extraordinary visit. Casual but elegant dining experience. Michail is a very passionate chef who made us a marvelous dinner at his home. We were served on a garden patio on the sixth floor of his building that had a marvelous view of the Parthenon and the rest of Athens. The dinner started with a nice greek white wine and a fava bean hummus with bread, and progressed to the main course of sea bream fish served with potatoes and vegetables. All four courses were cooked to perfection and lightly seasoned. And of course to top it all off we had a simple but elegant dessert of greek yogurt with honey from his cousins hives. Michail is growing spices, olives and banana trees on his garden patio. He is very passionate about cooking and gardening and is very enthusiastic when he talks about both subjects. I cannot say enough great things about this experience. We originally booked the seafood dinner, but decided to switch to Michail's other offering- the cooking class. He was so friendly and extremely accommodating in making the change for us. From the moment we arrived, Michail was the perfect host- bringing us up to his beautiful terrace and offering us water and a glass of wine. Then, once we were settled, he immediately put us to work- chopping, grating and slicing a beautiful array of fresh produce for our meal- from our individual work stations overlooking the most beautiful view of Athens. He carefully explained every step, while sharing interesting details about his home and family, his culture, and the fresh ingredients we were using from his family and farm. Every dish we prepared together was absolutely fantastic and plentiful. Traveling with my sister and niece, this experience created wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. We were so excited to meet a local greek chef and spend time in his home. We envisioned great conversation, laughter, interesting stories of local life and local food. First off do not trust Google maps. It was not accurate finding this address. Even the taxi company dropped us off a block away and was not sure where the building was. The address is marked once you find it, and Michail walked to meet us to take us up to his terrace. By the way the terrace is all you will see, and at 5 p.m. it is very, very hot. He was dressed in an old t-shirt and cut off shorts, unlike all the pictures on the get-your-guide site. We were offered water and then he disappeared into his home leaving us on the terrace. The only entertainment was his small dog, Alba. No music, no conversation. He would pop out occasionally to offer a glass of wine or ask how we were doing. Over an hour later first course was served. The food was good, similar to restaurants we dined at while in Athens. Presentation was beautiful. Ample amounts of food. We were disappointed based off other reviews that mentioned a cohost and entertaining conversation etc. He seemed to be more of a waiter/server than a host/chef. Overall not worth the price the paid.Wanted to love this experience

Michail is the superb host! My initial reservation was for 2, but when 3 friends wanted to join, Michael graciously reopened reservation to include us all. From the moment we rang his well labeled bell, til he saw us out the door hours later, he was welcoming, gracious, informative, fun and generous. Panoramic view through sunset and lighting of Parthenon was a great backdrop . Food was delicious and abundant. My fave was the mussels steamed in sea water, but the fish- deboned expertly at the table- was also a huge hit. Surprise dessert substitution was fabulous- Greek yoghurt with honey from his family farm! Sublime and perfect ending to a wonderful evening. Athens hospitality at its best!

From the warm welcome and the amazing hospitality, to the stunning view and delicious meal - everything surpassed our expectations! Das Menü war vorzüglich, von der Vorspeise bis zum Desser und am Ende hat Michail sogar noch einen kleinen Geburtstagskuchen für meinen Freund aus dem Hut gezaubert! The balcony is charming with great view and a variety of herbs. Dinner was like a friend inviting you over, except your friend is a professional chef. Can’t say enough about how wonderful was this experience. We had a fabulous homemade meal at a location looking out at the Parthenon. We were provided locally sourced ingredients and Michail was able to accommodate food allergies. Each course was fabulous. Wonderful meal for our last night in Athens.

There were six of us who visited Michail and his friend, Nikos. When we arrived, Nikos was waiting for us out in front of the building so we were easily able to find the address. We went up to a rooftop apartment with a beautifully set table outside with a gorgeous view of Athens. Our hosts were very charming and the food was delicious and filling. The menu included fava with onions, calamari, gilt-headed bream, greek salad, bread with fresh olive oil and tzatziki. Our favorite above all were the anchovies, marinated by Michail. We were sorry to see the evening end. Our foodie friends said that the evening was a "10", the highlight of our time in Athens.Lovely evening

We were greeted by Nikko- our chefs right hand man and shown to the terrace- our table was beautifully and simply set and we were faced with a dramatic sunset over a perfect panoramic view of Athens. While Mickial cooked he shared with us that his recipes were from his Mom and Grandmom- and the fish came from his Dad who is a fisherman. We had a lovely chick pea dip- fresh crisp greek salad with his personal small batch extra virgin olive oil. What followed was marinated fresh sardines, mussels, squid and charcoal grilled sea bream filleted at the table with simply prepared fresh veggies. One bite was more brilliant than the next. They served generous pours of a nice local wine that complimented our outstanding dinner At the end- halva and ice cream... With all that we were full but comfortable. Throughout we had interesting conversation and even assistance from Nikko who is a local guide ( not looking for work- just being helpful) This evening was probably our best. It was relaxing- unrushed- absolutely delish I cannot tell you enough times or enough ways to book it!!!!Absolute perfection

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Greece. Michael was an amazing chef. I had a special request as one person in our group did not like seafood and he accommodated that request....and we asked for a lesson in Making baklava. He went out of his way to make sure that all of our requests were accommodated. The food was simply fantastic. Nico was helpful in answering all of our questions about Greece and kept the conversation lively. We did have difficulty finding the meeting point… But it was not their fault. Make sure you clarify on the website where the meeting point is as it was not clear. Michael helped us figure it out and work through the problem and they were going to let tour with locals know..... It was a fantastic evening and would highly recommend it to anyone.Excellent first Greek meal

Dinner at the home of Michail was the highlight of our 3 days in Athens.Michail is a very talented chef and a very warm and welcoming host. We wanted to experience true,authentic Greek cuisine and our dinner surpassed all expectations.Each dish was presented beautifully and with an explanation of what we were about to experience. The balcony setting of his apartment was the "icing on the cake." We watched the lights of Athens and watched as the Acropolis began to be spotlit in a dramatic fashion. My friend and I had a wonderful night with delicious food and interesting conversation. Michail’s food was excellent, he took a lot of time and care to prepare it, and we ate a huge variety of food. My favourites were the prawns, calamari and the sea bream, but everything was delicious, along with the wine to match. I don't know where to start - The view unbelievably beautiful, up high, can see so far! Michail's father is a fisherman, so the fish was beyond delicious. Save room! 8 fabulous courses: appetizers, anchovies, zucchini balls and mussels, best ever calamari - so sweet and fresh-, delicious grouper with veggies and dessert. We had a little confusion with the address and finding the location but it was well worth the confusion! Our dinner at Michail's was just perfect. We were welcomed by him and his co-host Niko, both great hosts and very nice people. We chatted along while drinking Mastika and Michail showed us the great fish he was going to cook for us. The food was great, full of taste and very authentic. Michail was also super helpful in arranging some special food for one of our friends intolerant to gluten. He was super in the communication and very tolerant when we arrived 40minutes late because of a delayed flight. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking for a great dinner with wonderful people. Thank you Michail! We will come back in the summer to enjoy the view from the terrace.Simply amazing!

I booked this experience as a surprise for my partner’s birthday. And it was an amazing surprise for both of us! The hosts were charming and welcoming, they made us feel like we were visiting old friends. Michail is an outstanding chef. We were served some lovely traditional starters, delicious fresh seafood, beautifully flavoursome pork and a homemade cake to die for. We had a lovely evening and our only regret was that we didn’t book more than just one night. Dinner At Michail’s was the best experience to end our short but wonderful trip to Athens! From the beginning, Michail was very quick to answer all my questions. Because it is winter time, the dinner was moved to his larger apartment - which was large enough to accommodate our group of 12 guests. We were greeted by Nikos at arrival. He entertained us with some cocktails, a toast, and made us feel very welcome! Michail used a wood fire grill to make our wonderful 7 course meal. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. Our group consisted of of various ages from 12-71...collectively we all enjoyed ourselves and I’ll echo all ten other reviewers’ sentiments that this was the highlight of our trip. What a delight! The most amazing food you can find in Athens, with great views from the balcony and perfect hosts who will entertain you throughout the evening and make sure everything is to your liking. The only downside I can think of: You will be spoiled for the rest of your holiday, because you will not find such delicious food anywhere else in Athens :-) Every (greek) dish and ingredient you can imagine is home cooked and well served. Not only the perfectly grilled and seasoned fish, but also the Tztziki, Mussels, Salads, Squid, Vegetables and even the desert and ice cream. We really enjoyed the evening and the company. Felt very much welcomed and at home. Learned a lot about Athens, greek islands and obviously the food ;) If you want to experience something really unique and get a taste of how good greek food and fresh fish can taste, this is it ;)Most amazing dinner & food of all time ;-)

We arrived at Michail and Mikos home and admired the beautiful evening view of Athens city before trying a shot of Mastiha. Mikos worked enthusiastically in the kitchen, preparing a very generous feast. Meanwhile Michail kept us engaged in interesting conversations. All the food was local. The fish had been freshly caught that morning by Kilos father. The feta and olive oil was home made on his family farm by his mother. The vegetables were fresh from his family farm. It was truly unique and authentic. Absolutely fantastic evening! We highly recommend this experience! Wonderful food and great company!Fresh, authentic Greek seafood FEAST!

So far, this is the best experience we have had in Athens. Michail and Nikos are wonderful hosts and the food was amazing. If you're not accustomed to fresh seafood, you will be blown away. And and the food ...Omg 3 courses of Authentic Greek food cooked on front of you. As a matter of fact , the fish we had to night was caught by mihails Dad who happens to be a fisherman in the island of Crete and it was the freshest food I ever had. We just had an amazing dinner at Michail's. Communication from the start was fantastic, and he even arranged for his friend Nikos to pick us up. Michail's place is stunning with amazing views of Athens and the Acropolis at night, and ever so warm and welcoming. We managed to see the pro in action and were impressed.
