What an absolute treat and delight to spend the afternoon with Helena. She knows how to get around the town. From contemporary street art that I would never have found to the inside story of some of the classic portions of Old Amsterdam. Helena had it all at her command. Great trips on places to dine or grab a beer. There's no way to describe what a wonderful opportunity it is... The best part is - she will customize the experience to be exactly what your group would like for it to be. I've been on a lot of walking tours in many cities around Europe as this one is Tops. Helena met me at my hotel lobby at the prescribed time to begin our tour. She took me to so many places I wouldn’t of seen ordinarily. She’s very knowledgeable, and the kind of person that you feel comfortable with. She becomes much of a friend! We had an enjoyable lunch at a quaint restaurant that she picked out that had excellent food. Helena definitely knows Amsterdam. She was able to provide me with the names of several good restaurants and bakeries that I will go to during the rest of my stay in this lovely city.Helena is a fabulous guide!

We enjoyed walking through the old part of Amsterdam with focus on the pre-war Jewish neighborhoods. Martin has a strong command of history both local and global. He was able to contextualize a lot of what we were learning. We asked to end the tour at a particular time at or near the Anne Frank House. Martin accommodated us nicely with this.Informative

In spite of the wet day, we had a great day touring by bike with Sebastian. He gave us some tips on biking in Amsterdam before we headed out. Sebastian took us on a large loop where we saw a variety of neighborhoods and architecture. He was able to weave historical context into much of what we were seeing. I had so much fun on this windmill and that factory cheese tour with Olga. She is very friendly and knowledgeable. I got to see the windmills and learn all about their history. I got to visit at Judge cheese factory and try all the different types of cheeses they had. I also got to see how wooden Dutch shoes are made (very cool). She was so polite by holding my bags when I wanted to take pictures, waiting for me to pick out souvenirs, waiting for me to enjoy some ice cream, and etc.. I almost twisted my ankle while walking with her and she literally stopped me from falling on the ground. She was also nice enough to offer to pick me up from my hotel versus me having to pay a taxi. Marten was a wonderful host with a lot of really interesting stories! We loved hearing about some history of Amsterdam and specifically about the area we were walking through. We had a great time walking around the Albert Cuyp Market sampling different food. My favorite was the warm, fresh stroopwafel, but everything we tried was delicious! In hindsight, my family would have appreciated at least one stop where we could have sat down for a bit to eat (we were with my in-laws), but that didn’t detract from the great experience we had. I had alerted Olga to the fact that I walk rather slowly using a walking aid. Olga set a gentle pace but nevertheless we covered the principal sights as well as some special corners of central Amsterdam. Olga combined historical facts with fascinating background material. Elvina met with us at short notice and the weather was awful, very wet and windy, however despite this she was friendly and cheerful. Our walk through the red light district was interesting and informative with a welcome pit stop halfway round for traditional Dutch apple pie.
