I did a 5 hour walking hour with Elvina and it honestly felt like much longer. Elvina is patient even prior to our tour and accommodated all the changes I had to make. I saw so many places, learnt so many things and ate the most delicious apple pie. She share alot of information in a clear, systematic and witty manner at an eas pace which I really loved. She constantly checked on me to see if I needed anything. I laughed alot with her and she helped to take very nice photos which I most grateful for. I literally passed many houses with little secrets which I now know about, thanks to Elvina. There were also a couple of surprise locations. What an absolute treat and delight to spend the afternoon with Helena. She knows how to get around the town. From contemporary street art that I would never have found to the inside story of some of the classic portions of Old Amsterdam. Helena had it all at her command. Great trips on places to dine or grab a beer. There's no way to describe what a wonderful opportunity it is... The best part is - she will customize the experience to be exactly what your group would like for it to be. I've been on a lot of walking tours in many cities around Europe as this one is Tops. Helena met me at my hotel lobby at the prescribed time to begin our tour. She took me to so many places I wouldn’t of seen ordinarily. She’s very knowledgeable, and the kind of person that you feel comfortable with. She becomes much of a friend! We had an enjoyable lunch at a quaint restaurant that she picked out that had excellent food. Helena definitely knows Amsterdam. Sebastian was wonderful. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable. He took us around the city and explained the rich history of everything we were seeing including the changing geography and expansion of Amsterdam over time. He also gave us great insight into a lot of Dutch culture and gave us great tips for local restaurants and other attractions to see while we were here. We took a canal tour later and it was great to be able to connect the different sights, locations and architectures we saw from the canals to the information Sebastian had shown us earlier. Jan came prepared. I booked this walking tour just for myself. It was also a same day, last minute booking. I decided to book through withlocals after reading an article online recommending the service as it’s #1 must-do thing for first timers in Amsterdam. I was not disappointed. Jan’s tour was a non-stop tour filled with historical knowledge & cultural experience rooted in his 40-years of living in Amsterdam. During one of our stops at “Blue” which had a tremendous 360 degree view, Jan shared at great depth about discotheques & popular Dutch snacks. Jan also clearly has relationships with many of the service workers at the various stops. He came with a binder full of images, diagrams and sketches that grounded our conversation throughout the walking tour. I highly recommend Jan as a tour guide. My 16 year old son and I had a great time learning about the history of Amsterdam, while walking the streets of the city. Doing so through the lens of a local gave what we learned so much more value. I am a well seasoned traveler and Tommi was hands down the best city guide I’ve ever had. Tommi is so knowledgeable about the city and you can tell he really loves what he does. He was able to tell us about architecture, history, culture, food, and gave us really great tips for our time in Amsterdam. We were able to see some of the popular sites, hidden gems that we would have not otherwise noticed, and also experienced less touristy neighborhoods where locals live. His tour really enhanced my understanding of the city and gave amazing context for the rest of my stay. At first I was skeptical of the cost because it is more than I usually spend on a tour. But I found that this was absolutely well worth the price and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Tommi, for such an amazing day!! Best guide ever
