Veronica was great and up to a couple scheduling and itinerary challenges. We had already done the 3 hour bus tour of Buenos Aires as part of a pre-cruise extension. We did the 5 hour Buenos Aires tour with Veronica during a post-cruise free day and she provided a great alternative mostly walking path through some areas the bus didn't visit or the bus just pointed to out the window. Veronica even had us revisit a couple places for a more in depth experience. We also enjoyed being able to chat with Veronica and ask questions while walking which isn't something that's possible during a larger group bus tour. Very personable and well informed

Our tour guide was Veronica. The first impression was not good when the tour guide Veronica arrived 30 mins late., she did try to contact us, but without internet or phone access this was no good. The tour started with a walk around the historic building explaining the history of Buenos Aires. We saw the changing of the guard was good to see, but took up nearly an hour of the tour. Then started the food tour, first visit was a fast-food shop that sold filled churros, another deep-fried pastry and cheese chipa balls. Rather than having one each these cut into two or four pieces just to have a taste, we had cheese chipa each, and a cup of coffee. Next look at a sandwich shop that sold plain sandwiches, we did try any of these, then she showed us a posh coffee and cake café, but we did not have anything there, then more history and then to a pizza café, where we had empanadas and pizza, and a coke. We then walked to an ice cream shop, which was closed, so no ice cream. On all other food tours, we've also tried local alcoholic drinks. She appeared in a rush to get to another appointment. She spent a lot of time talking about herself, how good she was as a translator, historian and all her qualifications etc. Also wanted to know what days we were free to sell us more events, which was uncomfortable. Not really what we were expecting when you think of the wide variety of food unique to Argentina. So basically, it was a historic tour with some food, not the 10 Tastings of Buenos Aires. My wife and I started our South America trip in Buenos Aires, and as a last minute decision - we hired a local guide to show us the highlights of the city. Last weekend, we arrived in Buenos Aires a few days before our Antarctica cruise. Since we have never visited BA, I decided to use WithLocals, as I have done on numerous occasions, to book an overview tour with a local guide, so that we would have a basic idea of the city and what we might want to do for the remainder of our time there. Choosing Veronica was a great decision. She was a true Porteno, a longtime guide, well-versed in the history and cultural norms of BA and Argentina, opinionated on many issues, spoke English impeccably and, by the way, very witty and enjoyable to talk with. In addition to visiting and/or discussing the many buildings in and around the Plaza de Mayo, we paraded thru the huge street market held each Sunday, visited some notable shops and learned much about the neighborhoods that we visited. We met with Veronica and she took us on a walk around the central area of Buenos Aires. We received a good social history of BA and Argentina but we did expect to have more of a foodie experience. We went to a coffee shop and pizza bar which were nice but as people that really love food we expected a bit more. The best place we went to was somewhere we never would have ventured into and was a real treat. It would be better for Veronica to have provided more time to the food and less time espousing her views on the Falklands and on the neighbouring countries cuisine and cultures. A good tour but not what we were expecting

My partner and I took a wonderful art tour with Veronica and saw several amazing and well-executed murals in a section of the city that we otherwise would probably not have visited. The murals were in a wide variety of different styles, and each one felt unique. Veronica showed pictures of some of the artist's other works, and so you had a good sense of their individual styles. Our discussions were thought-provoking, and we were able to recognize elements of one mural that featured plants from our home (SW United States) which was unexpected and showed the wide variety of influences that these artists had. I booked the 1.5h tour with Verónica the same day. We started at the Obelisk and ended at Plaza de Mayo, passing through avenida Corrientes and Florida. Despite the very short notice, Verónica was able, after a short chat about my interests and passions, to give me a tour that felt bespoke to my taste. What makes her a great tour guide is not only her deep knowledge of the city, but also her being a good listener, which helped to create an informal, but nonetheless extremely professional, environment where it's possible for both the tour guide and the tourist to create a deep, friendly and fulfilling conversation. Veronica's flexibility and knowledge allowed her to answer all of the offtopic questions that arose in my head as we were strolling through the main avenidas. Not only she knows her stuff, but she also has the ability to deliver her knowledge with a contagious passion. Was really really satisfied and definitely book one of her tours (a longer one this time) on my next visit to Buenos Aires. Pros: - very passionate - curious and good listener - deep knowledge of BA' history and society - very good levels of English and Italian - personal interests in linguistics, history, literature and art Cons: - 1.30h will not feel enough. Definitely gonna go for the longer one next time 😀 Bonus: - as we were chatting about Argentine literature and having mentioned Cortázar, one of my favourite authors, she brought me to a café where he used to go and where one of is novels (Los Premios) is set.

We enjoyed having Veronica show us a part of Buenos Aires and local art that we would not have otherwise discovered as it was not on the main tourist trail. The stories about the art and artists were interesting and we enjoyed visiting an old home and furniture restorer and the antique markets. We were lucky enough to have Veronica as our tour guide on our first ever trip to Buenos Aires. She showed us some beautiful places in the barrios of Montserrat and San Telmo and told us exciting stories about the history and everyday life of Argentina. We had a personal tour with Veronica that was an all day excursion in her vehicle. My 92 YO Mom would not have been able to manage a walking tour. Verónica contacted me prior to the tour to find out what my Mom and I were interested in and she tailored the tour to our interest. We met Veronica for a tour of the city hilights when we first arrived Buenos Aires. What we got was history, story telling and a city brought to life by a passionate and knowledgeable resident. Veronica was patient, answered all our questions and created an experience just for us.
