We ended our trip to Ireland in Dublin. As first-time visitors, we had no idea where to begin or what to do. We had a delightful time walking the streets of Dublin with Kate. I can't say enough about Kate! First, she is ideal for someone coming in for just a day via cruise. She lives near the tender port of dun Laoghaire and since tender timing is so iffy, I was able to WhatsApp her when our tender departed and she met us at the cruise dock and rode in to Dublin with us....and also came back with us at the end. It was great because we didn't have to estimate times to get to a meeting point, so we maxed out on our Kate time. Her tour was fabulous. She has had a career as a professional journalist, so she was really good at separating out what is fact and what is her opinion as she told us so much about Ireland's history and politics. She is also an accomplished artist, who is particularly skilled at capturing the live music scene. So, in addition to great accurate historical perspectives enlivened with journalistic skills, we were able to appreciate local art and the music scene. She is essentially the perfect guide. We loved her as a person as well! We were on a cruise ship that was unable to tender us to the pier in Dublin. We were in touch with Kate continually during the morning, hop8ng we could get in. But Oceania decided to just leave Dublin and sail to Cornwall. I asked for a refund and sent her what she needed to do with you. Which I took off of your website. She said she would try. This was totally out of our control and hope that With Local will give us the refund. We didnt do the tour

Kate was first of all absolutely lovely. It felt like walking around Dublin with a friend who lived there. She is incredibly knowledgeable with great little gems that you don't read about in books. Walked on the less touristy streets as well which gave us a better flavor of Dublin . I'm SOOOOOOOOO happy we chose her as our guide. If you do as well, you definitely won't regret it. We were privileged to have Derek guide us for a 5 hr walking tour of Dublin, and I cannot imagine getting any better experience than what he provided. He was on time and quickly made our group of four comfortable as we strolled from our hotel into the gardens, museums, and major areas of interest in central Dublin. Derek was extremely knowledgeable regarding the historical and cultural significance of all of the places we visited. He gives you everything you might want to know in presentation form, but he has levels of information deeper than the initial presentation available for you to unlock with deeper questions as well. While we packed a ton into our tour, he was also sensitive to the comfort of our group throughout, and made sure to keep our pace, geographically and informationally, within the capacity of our group. We found him to be the perfect balance of witty host and curator of information. I would not only recommend him, but happily do another tour with him myself. Great guy - great tour!

Eamon was excellent company and very solicitous the entire half day we spent together. He specializes in history and can adjust to any time period or subject you are interested in. He loves his subject and genuinely loves sharing his knowledge. We walked all over the area South of the Liffey, and the main subjects were the history of the founding of Dublin and the original walls (and what is left of them), walkthru tours of Dublin Castle and Trinity College, and some background on the Easter Rising. Plus we had a sit at a proper pub (and Eamon provided a long list of recommended locations for the rest of my stay). The experience of a private tour, rather than one geared to a large group, is the way to go, especially with someone who knows and loves the city as much as Eamon.Eamon is an excellent and enthusiastic host

Where to start, what an amazing experience. When you book a 5 hour walking tour, your first thought is will it be too long. It is not, the amount of sites and knowledge shared with us was fascinating. We could have gone even longer! From the initial tales starting at the Molly Malone Statue we knew we were going to enjoy the day. Keelan is a wealth of not only Dublin history but Irish history as well and from some deeper conversations I suspect European history too. His passion comes through with every sentence. What is great about this tour is, while he did have a path laid out it was truly customizable to what we were interested in. We did not feel like cattle being herded through from landmark to landmark. If we wanted to stop for a pint, we did. If we wanted to spend additional time at a landmark we did. He weaves in his own experiences as well as his families experiences that were so interesting and relevant to the part of the tour we were at. He's just a likeable person, who seemed like a friend by the end of the tour. This was our first time in Dublin, we had experienced a total of 3 various tours/excursions and while all were really good my wife and I both agreed that Keelan's tour was the highlight of our trip. We are glad we did it early on during our stay as it gave us more perspective of where were walking, etc during the rest of our stay. We definitely recommend this tour with Keelan, also don't be shy to ask questions. He seemed to really enjoy the dialog. We were peppering him with questions which he would spend time answering and explaining answers. I could go on and on but if you are going to Dublin, just book Keelan for your tour. I believe the other tours with him would be just as good but if you have the time you will not be disappointed with the 5 hour one. The title really sums it up, "Keelan is an asset to Dublin". I recently enjoyed a fantastic walk with Ruairi. As we toured around the downtown Dublin Ruairi regaled me with stories from both his own and his city's past (both recent and ancient). He answered all of my questions and gave me some firm insight into life as a Dubliner and an Irishman. We share a common interest in music and Ruairi's customizations allowed me to sneak in some Thin Lizzy and U2 trivia. We wound up the tour with a pint in easily the best pub in Temple Bar. Ruairi knows his stuff! He's a comfortable guy to hang with and I would certainly have him over to mine for a drink if he ever found himself in Toronto. Ciaran was unable to do our tour due to an emergency but he gave us notice that James would be our substitute guide. James was great! He was an excellent historian and local guide. We were running late by 45 minutes and notified James. He was patient with this situation and waiting at the Molly Malone statue when we arrived. Dublin was our last day of tours during a 2 week trip to Scotland and Ireland. We had been so busy that we had been unable to do some shopping for items we wanted to bring back to the US. James asked what we wanted to do and we told him the items we wanted to find and he was able to guide us towards those options while stopping along the way in the tour. He was knowledgeable about history and shops within the city that would meet our needs at reasonable prices. He guided us to a good pub for lunch. He made the tour fun with his sense of humor and willingness to answer questions about current culture of the city and recent experiences with COVID lockdowns. I have traveled extensively in the past and found that private tours by locals is the way to go for several reasons...if we had been late to a group tour, we would have missed it. We also would not have been given the flexibility to accommodate our needs of shopping along the way on our last day of the trip. Excellent and flexible to our needs

I can't give Eamon enough praises. His knowledge of the area and Ireland in general is quite impressive. He just might be more informed about my own country's history than I have ever been. The pace is leisurely but he doesn't hesitate to move along a bit more quickly----he's right on top of the weather forecast and those frequently surprising rain showers.
