We had the most incredible day exploring Dubrovnik with Marko as our tour guide! From start to finish, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and so much fun to be around. We started our day walking the iconic city walls, and Marko brought the history of Dubrovnik and Croatia to life, answering our many many questions with enthusiasm. And gave the Game of Thrones fans among us some info too! After the city, we headed out to Lokrum Island for a really fun lunch at nice restaurant where we accidently fed the wild peacocks some lunch and then had fabulous kayaking tour with Marko showing us beautiful coastal caves and getting to do some cliff jumping. If you’re visiting Dubrovnik, do yourself a favor and book a day with Marko. It was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Thank you, Marko, for an unforgettable experience! Wonderful!

Having grown up in the old town in Dubrovnik and having been a student of history, she has personal knowledge of the area. Karmen was a truly fabulous guide for our family of 4, my husband and me, and a daughter aged 19 and son age 15. As we know, with the ubiquity of smartphones in teenager's lives, their attention span is short. Karmen managed to keep their interest the whole time. She is a native to Dubrovnik and knows both the historical and the more recent history of the area equally well. She even threw in some fun Game of Thrones sites, complete with stills from the show to compare with the actual area in real life. She made things relevant but kept it fun. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 Experience We absolutely loved our Drinks & Bites in Dubrovnik tour with Karmen! From start to finish, she made the experience feel personal, relaxed, and truly unforgettable. The food was incredible—we tried traditional Croatian dishes like šporki makaruli and crni rižot (black risotto), along with anchovies and so many other delicious bites. Restricting my review to just Dubrovnik is too limiting -- we just toured the Old Town and City Walls of Dubrovnik and it was magical! Karmen does an amazing job of showing the entire city, highlighting the deep and fascinating history and even weaving in the obligatory Game of Thrones stops in a great 2 hour tour. She's smart, engaging and helpful and the best guide I've had in any of my world travels! I would rate 100 out of 10 if I was allowed!BEST GUIDE IN THE WORLD!!!!

Karmen led our family on a 1.5 hour walking tour through the Old Town Dubrovnik. We have 3 young kids (10 year old twins and a 6 year old very energetic kiddo!) and she kept them engaged and happily answered their MANY questions!!! She was full of fun details about the city’s history and gave the adults fun facts about where Game of Thrones was filmed. She paid special attention to the hot weather, finding shade everywhere we stopped. Her recommendations for ice cream and pizza were on point!! This was my family's first time visiting Croatia and first time using WithLocals. We had a wonderful experience with Karmen who provided great insights of Old Town, living in Dubrovnik, and interesting stories of the history of the city. It was quite warm outside, but Karmen sought out shade whenever she had a story to share. When scheduling the tour, Karmen was quick in her responses and even provided us some wonderful recommendations. We booked a 90 minute session, which was the perfect time to cover the history of the city, but also provide us with her own insights. The time with Karmen felt like a friend was guiding you around their city. I would recommend booking this tour on one of your first days, as Karmen provides many good recommendations. Excellent introductory tour to the beautiful Old City of Dubrovnik. Interesting references to the War of the 1990’s from someone who remembers it well and can explain his own feelings and experiences. The Old City is very busy, even in early June, so I would recommend an early morning visit if possible, definitely if you’re doing the City Wall walk. Fascinating, enjoyable tour.
