We loved our family tour with Dina. She kept our 6 and 9 year olds entertained for the 2 hour walking tour. Dina is friendly and the stories she told us of Florence we would never have learnt about by ourselves. After hearing our girls liked art and craft she took us into a store where the lady showed us how they do marble paint designs. Then Dina took us to her fav gelato store! Marco’s tour heightened our experience by incorporating both Medici and Demidoff tales as well as the Italian concept of perspective to build the biggest and boldest villa of its time. The Villa is gone now but the family chapel remains and of course the 35” tall colossus sculpture. He engaged us with the battle and betrayal of two Medici brothers vying for the Grand Duke title. Franchesco was the first born renaissance man as grand Duke and the second brother Fernando was the second born cardinal who wanted the power and title. Gratzie Marco for the memories.You rock Marco! Dina was the best tour guide we have ever had! She was so knowledgable and made the art and the history surrounding what we saw approachable and enjoyable. I would love to book her for several days just to take me around and show me art and tell me the stories behind them. She was WONDERFUL with our 9 year old daughter. Spending the afternoon with Marty at the Uffizi was like being with an old friend. She was friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. She showed us the important paintings and the history of each one. We wanted to see the Caravaggios, which might not have been on her normal “route”, but she made it possible to show them to us. Dina was the best! We booked a Highlights and hidden gems tour in Florence for my husband and 2 kids 15/13. Dina was truly awesome. Communication was fantastic pre tour and during - she provided us with so many fun facts and interesting stories. (Ones you can’t google!) Truly a magical evening with Anna! This tour was so much more than we expected, reading the description I wasn’t sure exactly how we would fit everything in without feeling rushed, but everything was perfect. I love that we got a taste of everything that’s amazing about Florence: wine, Gnudi, cheese, Negroni, Wild Boar Strew, Gelato! There wasn’t anything I would have changed about the evening. Anna was knowledgeable and kind while also keeping us safe and happy. For anyone nervous about the walking aspect of the tour, you stay within the same small area and it wasn’t very strenuous. There was a mix up by your company and not enough vans came. We were cramped into 2 vans. Our tour guide and our driver (Anna and Cristiano) stepped up , along with the other van driver, and found a solution. They deserve a lot of credit for their problem solving. That is why I gave this tour a high rating. The company really did not seem to be able to solve the searing shortage.
