My wife and I are in Vietnam for the first time, only for 5 days. We were seeking a tour that would give us a good taste of HCM, insights into daily life, etc, that were different and more personal than the normal tours. We haven't worked with a guide before, we weren't sure what to expect, but it was exactly what we were after. Thien is very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about her home. Her English is "perfect", the places we went to interesting, and there is some flexibility to seek more depth in some areas and less in others. The places we went to would not have been accessible to us through other means. We did this tour on the first day of our staff and used it to help plan what we would do on the rest of the stay. It was an excellent choice for us.I would give more stars if I could...

It was an excellent addition, no overlap with the first tour, and experiences that would be pretty difficult for us to do with Thien. Elise took us around Ho Chi Minh City tasting amazing local foods including Michelin star dishes with specialty corn and sticky rice. We had the most scrumptious and fresh green papaya salad, and crunchy Banh Mi with pate and fresh vegetables! Elise is knowledgeable and friendly. She made sure to avoid trigger foods that my friend has due to serious food allergies. We thoroughly enjoyed our time together, walking around the city and appreciating Sargon after dark! My husband and I did the Ultimate Cu Chi Tunnels tour with Thien, and it was great! It was very authentic and not the typical tourist tour. We were a group of four and we were all very satisfied of our morning tour with Huyen. Everything was easy from the beginning, she was immediately answering my messages. Thien first took us to the oldest Vietnamese coffee shop in Ho Chi Min City which was fabulous. Three sisters run it and we saw how all the traditional methods and are still being used today. It was fascinating and the coffee was absolutely delicious - we tried both the hot and cold versions. Definitely worth a visit. We then went off to the Cu Chi tunnels. The tour started out with a very interesting film and then we moved to a traditional village set up which was both interesting and informative. Lastly we went to the Cu Chi tunnels themselves. Despite initially being apprehensive, we explored a number of tunnels as Thien relayed the history of how the tunnels were used and various other aspects showing how the entrances and exits were disguised. We had a fantastic tour with Hieu. His English is very easy to understand, and he was truly a great storyteller. We gained insight into different areas and history and got to experience a lot of local culture as well. He is kind, friendly, and very attentive. Unfortunately, two members of our family had suffered from food poisoning in the days prior, and Hieu was incredibly considerate and accommodating. This tour opened our eyes to all that Vietnam has to offer beyond the usual tourist spots—things we would never have discovered on our own. We spend one of hour 3 days in HCMC going to the Mekong Delta to experience local life. We chose withlocals to get away from the crowds and touristy areas and it was a great choice. We had a great day just our family and our awesome guide Thien and got to explore different areas of the river and local life around it. It was a rather long drive to the starting point from downtown HCMC but it was definitely worth it (and necessary to reach the Mekong) and we started out exploring a real local market at the starting point that was an experience in itself. I can only recommend spending that little bit extra on taking a private tour. You will still visit places with other tourists but it would be impossible not to but I really felt we were on our own in a very good way for the entire trip. If you want to explore the Mekong, go ahead and a book a trip with Thien. Worth every penny and minute!Lovely day trip to Mekong

We really enjoyed a splendid afternoon with Huyen (or, Wind). She met us early and had already planned around our other tours to avoid overlap, and then took us on a whirlwind tour of great sites. The highlight was visiting the Ben Tay Market in Chinatown, where Huyen was able to tell us how pricing worked, the different retail and wholesale areas, the history of the place and how to buy ("don't buy meat from a butcher using a red umbrella over the meat - it may be coloring the meat to appear fresher than it is!).
