Choji is a highly experienced and energetic! He shared his knowledge of the city from both a historic and food viewpoints. We tried many types of food and drinks in great places off the beaten track while also covering the historic quarter of central Lima. We had a 10 hour layover at the Lima airport and thought it would be fun to see the city of Lima instead of sitting at the airport all day. Alfredo was kind enough to arrange for us to be picked up and dropped off at the airport which was a big plus. We enjoyed seeing the city of Lima through Alfredo's eyes. He was very knowledgeable and pointed out things we never would have noticed. His English was very good and easy to understand. If planning to go to Lima, we would definitely steer you his way. choji was waiting at the spot previouslly stated on time and took me to a very interesting walk tour through the center of Lima. He is quite knowlegeble about Peruvian geography and history besides knowing every spot in the city. I told him that I had particular interest in visiting Larco museum, he told me taht it is far and drove me to the museum, at it was a very good experience. My day with Alfredo left me feeling happy. He showed me and my sister around Lima and it was just a perfect day. We saw murals, we saw paintings, statues, interesting architecture, had a great coffee and had lunch at a great restaurant, we had a pisco tasting and much, much more. We had fun! I contacted Carlos when we arrived in Lima - he met with us with very short notice, so accommodating! Carlos has a wealth of knowledge about the history of Peru and loves to share it. He showed us all the varieties of architectural styles around the central part of the city also. Carlos speaks several languages & communicated very well in English. We also enjoyed hearing about some interesting local folklore stories! It was such an interesting day. Carlos made it fun & educational. We booked Alfredo for our tour in Lima for my Mom and myself. He was very helpful with organizing the trip that we wanted. I have been to Lima so I knew what I wanted to show my mom, Alfredo put together a great tour package and even showed us two sights in Lima that I was not aware of. He arranged for transportation from our Hotel to the city center. From there we went on a great walking tour filled with facts, unique insight into Lima, the history of the city and the culture and even gave us surprises to remember our time in Lima. M. Carlos est très sympathique et cultivé. Ce fut donc une visite culturelle interessante de Lima. Mais son français est trop hésitant pour conduire un groupe qui a « spécifiquement » demandé un groupe en français cat l’un de nous ne parlait pas anglais. Autre chose : la visite dure plus de 4 heures et nous n’avons eu aucun temps de pause ( la bière et le sandwich prévus n’ont donc pas eu lieu ni la visite de la cathédrale où les billets d’entrée étaient pré-payés.)merci ... mais

Alfredo did a great job of teaching us the history of not only the Barranco neighborhood we were touring but he also helped us understand Peruvian history. We told him we wanted to shop so he took us to some amazing artisan shops and so patiently waited for 3 women with very different tastes to make their purchases. Our tour was meant to be 2hrs but Alfredo so generously gave us more of his time and wisdom. We even gained access to a couple of closed sites because of Alfredo’s relationship with the proprietors. The tour was enlightening, inspiring and really fun. What a generous guide!

We've done many food tours around the world and we were very excited to do a food tour in Lima but it was not as exciting and yummy as expected. First time in a food tour that we left hungry. This was not our first time in Peru (we did a food tour in Cuzco). The tour felt not well planned - we started late which can happen but the guide had more than one hour left when we were already at the ending time. She talked a lot which is fine when you're doing a regular tour - and she was very knowledgeable but again, this was supposed to be a food tour. At the end I regretted not paying a bit more and doing one of the more high-end food tours in Barranco. Maybe if it's your first time in Peru this would be fine. Meh

Our family of four (Jill, John, Tate and Claire) booked The 10 Tastings of Lima because we wanted to experience the culinary side of Lima. With Choji, we did this, plus so much more! Of our day 8 trip of Peru, our time with Choji was one of the best experiences!! We were thrilled to have tasted many delicious foods: Peruvian churros (still wishing for more...), Spanish influenced sweets, Japanese mochi, ceviche, lamb with savory rice and potatoes, simple but tasty fried fish, fruits from the coast/rainforest/Andes, chocolate, starfruit and pineapple juice, and more. But what really took the tour to the next level was Choji's energy and his connectedness with his community. At every stop, he was enthusiastically welcomed by the staff, and he introduced them all to us by their names. He shared history on each of the locations. We loved the feeling of being part of the community-even if very briefly. Between stops, he shared political and cultural insights about Lima and Peru, which made the tour more than just about the food. My daughter is an International Studies/Political Science major, and Choji encouraged her to explore specific South American topics. He was also very patient with my husband's questions and side quests (football jersey shopping, cookie quest in the market). Choji, we wish you the best in all of your endeavors! You are truly an excellent ambassador of Peru. If you ever make it to Chicago or Milwaukee, Wisconsin, we would love to take you on a tour of all of our favorite foods! My husband kids, 18 and 14 years old and myself, had a blast with him at the 10 tasting of Lima and visiting the Convent of Saint Domingo. First, I dreamed of visiting Saint Martin de Porres, my favorite saint. And my husband wanted to try the flavors of the world-famous Peruvian food. My kids, teenagers, just wanted to have a good time, take pictures and a memorable trip. Fortunately, we´ve got everything! Choji´s punctuality was a 100% Started not with food, but with some geographical history that helped us to contextualize the tasting of Peru. Then, walking through downtown Lima, enjoying architecture and start tasting sweets and salties, amazing! My dreamed visit to Saint Martin de Porres and having the chance to talk to my family and Choji about the reasons for my esteem to that incredible human being, get to know this incredible convent with that impressive architecture that took our breath away, for me was the peak of the tour. I highly appreciate how respectful Choji was with my religion and beliefs. But my family peaks varied: Ana (18 years old) enjoyed trying tamales, very different from our country tamales. David (14 years old) loved the experience of being in a century restaurant and entering to the kitchen to salute the team. My husband loved the municipal market and talking about football with Choji. Choji was an awesome tour guide. He was full of information about Lima and walked us around to neighborhoods, streets, restaurants, and areas that we would have never been able to do on our own. His historic knowledge was impressive and was the perfect way to start our Lima vacation. We loved visiting the alleys of Chinatown - we would have never found this and the food was delicious! He even spent an extra half hour with us above and beyond the three hour tour. Time went fast, we were never bored. It was awesome. Awesome Tour of Lima!
