Jorge brought me to a seafood place and had the most amazing shrimps I've had in my life. He ended up peeling them for me cause I was too slow 🤣 In the short time I had with him I learned a lot about the history and culture of Lisbon and felt that it provided me a great understanding of the area. If you guys are in Lisbon I definitely recommend booking a tour with Jorge. He was knowledgable not only on the history + culture but also political and social affairs. When planning a visit to Lisbon for the first time I picked Henrique with Walking With Locals after reading his excellent reviews. He immediately responded back and we set up a 3 hour walking tour of Lisbon. He arrived on time in drizzling rain, ready to go. Our tour with Amanda was simply amazing! Amanda was flexible about our start time due to weather which we really appreciated. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the city she clearly loves. Sonia was great! We had a great time even though it rained for some parts of the tour. She was very attentive and flexible and allowed us to go at our own pace. We booked her for a walking tour for our family of four (me, my wife, our 4 and half year old son, and our 7 month old daughter). We had a stroller for our son and my wife and I took turns carrying our daughter in the baby carrier on our chest. Lisbon is known to be hilly, but the tour was not strenuous. We got to sample the famous custard pastries and the cherry liqueur (served in a tiny chocolate cup). Sonia provided us with interesting factoids and insights about the city. This was our first time visiting Portugal and we wish we had a couple more days to continue exploring and experiencing Lisbon. We would highly recommend Sonia as your tour guide! We highly recommend Luis. Luis took us on a 3-hour walking tour of Lisbon the day we arrived, and then he took us on two one-day tours on subsequent days to several neighboring towns. He was flexible, accommodating, and congenial. Luis was very knowledgeable about the country, region, sites (touristy and off the beaten path), and history. He made great suggestions on what to do and was responsive to our inquiries. His car was clean and comfortable, and we felt very safe in his hands. Camila had a tough group to work with: a multigenerational group, most of whom had just arrived in Lisbon after an overnight transatlantic flight! But she did an excellent job! We highly recommend Sonia who gave us an excellent tour of Lisbon’s historical centre, including a couple of places and short cuts we would never have known about or found if we hadn’t been with Sonia. She is such a lovely person, very friendly and gave us such a lot of information about Lisbon in general during the tour. My wife and I had the pleasure of taking a Lisbon Food Tour with Ana Paula and had a great time and great conversation. She was able to customize our visits to exclude a few things we already tried and also give us a taste of better versions of some things we had tried earlier in the week as well. We had some wonderful hams and cheeses, pastries, amazing octopus salad, even more bachalau and, my favorite, the bifana. We did the Family Friendly Lisbon tour with Rita on our second day in Lisbon and loved it. We have two boy aged 6 and 3 and while it was a lot of walking for our oldest (the youngest was in the stroller), Rita made sure to take lots of breaks and show us fun playground for the kids so they wouldn't get bored. She helped keep them entertained while educating us on the different neighborhoods of Lisbon and where to go and what to avoid. The icing on the cake was the trip to Santinis for the best gelato we ever had and I think we visited that store 4 more times while we were there. If you're going to Lisbon with kids, make sure to book a tour with Rita. PS - She also made herself available on WhatsApp for general recommendations and advice, which was a game changer when we weren't sure what to do or to go to one place vs. another.Amazing family tour - great for young kids

This was the first time visiting Lisbon and Francisco’s tour was an excellent introduction to the city. Francisco was a terrific guide with a real passion for its history and culture, taking us to places of importance and where we wouldn’t have thought to go without his guidance. He was very friendly, amiable and spoke excellent English. The tour was for 3 hours but he actually gave us more of his time. He gave us recommendations for the rest of our week and places to eat - well worth it. Afterwards he also messaged us about the coming storm and palace closures. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful day trip to Sintra with Luis! Although we endured some rain during the first half of the day, Luis made the best of it and enabled us to enjoy all of Sintra and the surrounding area. Luis' deep knowledge of Portuguese history is amazing, which brought the diverse background of Sintra to life for us. I cannot recommend Luis more for a visit to Sintra or anywhere else in the Lisbon area!Fantastic day in Sintra!
