Lucia knows how to walk on the mountains with an interesting mix of store elevators, escalators and trams to save a lot of uphill walking. Her knowledge of the history is excellent. We had already spent two days in the same areas but hadn’t found any of these places.She knows the best routes

Absolutely loved our walking tour around Lisbon with Ines. She offered to meet us at our hotel which we greatly appreciated. Ines is incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s rich history with fascinating stories and local insights. Her enthusiasm and passion for Lisbon was enchanting and refreshing. We came away with a deeper appreciation for Lisbon and some great local tips. Ines helped us to understand the train and tram system for our visits to Sintra and Cascais. Had a fantastic time with Joao! He was kind enough to meet us at our hotel to start our walking tour. Then he blew us away with all his knowledge about the city. We love history so encouraged him to teach us about Portugal’s history and he did not disappoint. He took us to the various neighborhoods and gave us great recommendations. His English is superb. We had a 5 hour city tour of Lisbon with Amanda on Saturday, June 14, 2025. It was marvelous! First of all she is so immediately warm and friendly - I felt as though she was a good friend that I've known for years. She took us to amazing spots for stunning vistas, informed us on all aspects of Lisbon; history, architecture, music and my favorite- Portuguese food! She's full of energy and gave us an experience and knowledge of this beautiful city that we would absolutely not been able to achieve without her. She gave us a number of recommendations for dinner after - specifically some with vegan and vegetarian options. It was a perfect afternoon, a highlight of our 10 day trip to Portugal. Miss her already! I highly recommend Amanda! Amanda's the best!!

My friend and I had a fabulous and informative 5 hour tour with Inês. She came earlier than scheduled to our hotel and then began a journey of information and fun. Inês was everything we hoped for in a guide. She was extremely knowledgeable but relaxed and made the tour enjoyable. We learnt a lot but had a great time too. We had a private tour with Lucia at the end of April, booked through Withlocals – and it was simply perfect! Communication beforehand via WhatsApp was smooth and personal. Lucia really tailored the experience to our group – we weren’t looking for dry facts and figures, and she picked up on that immediately. We saw all the major highlights, heard fascinating stories, and got so many insider tips for the rest of our stay. One of the spontaneous highlights was stopping by a local tavern to enjoy a glass of Ginjinha. Lucia speaks excellent German and has such a warm and engaging personality. Our tip: book the tour at the beginning of your trip so you can make the most of all her recommendations. Highly recommended! A true highlight of our Lisbon trip!

Jorge brought me to a seafood place and had the most amazing shrimps I've had in my life. He ended up peeling them for me cause I was too slow 🤣 In the short time I had with him I learned a lot about the history and culture of Lisbon and felt that it provided me a great understanding of the area. If you guys are in Lisbon I definitely recommend booking a tour with Jorge. He was knowledgable not only on the history + culture but also political and social affairs. André was timely, so knowledgeable, funny, patient and ressourceful. He was very patient with our 3 kids (15,12 and 9) who spent 30min in the oldest bookstore atop in business. He had great and funny stories that our kids engaged and provided great addresses for restaurant and pastries. I did my research and read up on all the many With Locals guides, determining David might be a most accommodating, experienced and intelligent host, and yes, he definitely was, kept our active, love-to-walk group of four adults on a wonderful route, engaging us both by expertly framing our stops/time (and teaching us most helpful navigation hacks) and responding to our ideas/questions and needs. In brief: we wanted city/neighborhood history AND corresponding visual and culinary stops, so he made time for views and both a sweet treat and a most delightful lunch. Jorge was an excellent guide. His tour exceeded our expectations in terms of both quality and time. His enthusiasm and knowledge made our guided tour great. We took many steps as we followed them, starting from the western hills and walking through the valley in the center to the eastern hills, which had great views of the setting sun. Wir hatten David einen Vormittag mit unserer 2 jährigen Tochter angefragt und unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Neben Geschichte über Lissabon haben wir auch viel über Portugal früher und heute erfahren. David hat uns so geschickt durch die Stadt geführt dass wir den Kinderwagen nocht einmal tragen mussten. Er hat uns kleine Geschäfte gezeigt an denen wir achtlos vorbeigeloffen wären und Tipps für den weiteren Aufenthalt gegeben die wirklich genial waren. Auch etwas extra Zeit war drinnen wenn unsere Tochter mal Tauben fangen versuchte. Es war eine super Entscheidung die Tour zu buchen und wir können es nur empfehlen.Toll für klein und groß

We did the tastings tour with David on the afternoon we arrived in Lisbon. Our flight was a little delayed, and David was fine to push our start time back a half hour. We loved the time we spent with him! He gave us some great knowledge about Lisbon, and we got to try a few different items. He gave us the history on many of the drinks and foods we had, and that was awesome. He also gave us the names of some restaurants and bakeries to try, and some tips on how to get around the hills - we definitely used some of his info! He was in no rush, and our tour went over the two hours. It was definitely like walking around with a friend. Great experience!Like walking around Lisbon with a friend!
