Miriam was a wonderful guide. The three hours flashed by, we had fun walking through the old town to Picasso square, then to the Roman theatre, Alcazaba and the Cathedral. Isabel kindly agreed to a late reschedule due to torrential rain. Isabel is a proud boqueron -- a Malaga native with deep knowledge of the history and culture of her home town. He tour was informative and fun. She showed us lots of hidden gems that we would never have found ourselves. We particularly enjoyed the floats from the annual Easter parade. Nadia was just the perfect guide in Malaga! She took the time to understand us and our interests and she designed the tour accordingly. Hands down, this tour was one of the best ones my husband and I have done in our many travels. The guide was so informed in her knowledge of the Malaga wine history and the owner’s background and how the vineyard was started. It is an organic vineyard and what is called a micro winery where only 70,000 bottles are produced per year. We were a small group of 5, a guide. It was very personalized with conversation with the owner. He answered any and all questions about himself and the thought behind the wines we tasted. The pairings and tapas were wonderful as well.The best Wine tour.

Renata is really friendly and sweet and we jad an enjoyable evening with her sampling various tapas and wines. She also showed us around Malaga and gave us some recommendations as to where we can go to explore on our own. Although it started to rain pretty heavily halfway thru our tour, she still completed the entire tour with us. In fact, she took us to the wine tasting (not on the itinerary) where we got a chance to try delicious wines and had so much fun !! We were disappointed with the tour as it was not what we expected. Isabel was very nice and very knowledgable but we expected the tour to be more of a food experience than a guided tour of the city. We understood from the description of the tour that we would have 10 tastings of Malaga which we understood to be 10 samples of food of the area. We had four places where we had a tasting and two which were packets of nuts. One of them was a pack of chestnuts which you can have anywhere in the world including our own country the Uk. We were particularly disappointed as this was a birthday gift for our friend who was celebrating his 70th birthday Disappointing

Isabel us a native if Malaga. We spent a little over three hours just strolling through old Malaga . She told us the history of Malaga from the Phoneticians to the present. . She stopped at small local shops to explain their significance to local people. The store selling flamenco dresses was one if these and how she studied flamenco from time she was a tiny girl. At the end she recommended a small local resturant to have a bite to eat where we. Could sample several local foods like delicious iberian ham and fried aubergine with “Malaga honey”. Good historical review. Expected more food stops. The ones we did were very good and authentic but we expected more stops instead of samples of foods at stands. Overall was good but have had more thorough tours with Food Sherpas or Viator. Did not regret taking the tour but not the best we’ve had. Good tour of Malaga

Had a great city tour with Miriam. She knew so much about the city. As we walked around she told us so much about what we saw and knowing that we ran late from the Picasso Museum, she made sure to stop for two snacks (highly recommend the horchata drink and the empanada, not what I thought it was going to be but absolutely delicious) and showed us some other yummy stops for later. Our tour guide, Isabel was not able to meet us and we met with Antonio instead. He was waiting for us when we arrived at the meeting place. He is a seasoned and experienced guide who really knows the town well. He took time to explain the history of the town and all the major landmarks. We especially loved the Alcazaba and adjacent amphitheater. He explained the chronology of occupants from the first group to settle there through all of the 20th century renovations. He also explained the etiology of the towns name : the Phoenicians may have derived the name from their goddess called Malack (sp?) or it could be named after their word for ocean port, Malaka. In either case it is a beautiful city. We also got to go to the Atarazanes market where he knew many vendors and we got to sample olives and pickles garlic. We also sampled salted olive oil almonds from a friendly street vendor. I would highly recommend this tour and would not hesitate to take a different tour With Locals again. Antonio was an excellent tour guide!

We had a lovely food tour with Miriam in Malaga. Miriam’s so knowledgable about the city, it’s history, places to go, restaurants and tavernas to eat at and all the parks and museums which has made the rest of our break here so easy to visit the best places. The food tour itself was wonderful eating at the lovely places, some off the beaten track and others in the top 10 restaurants to visit. The food was very tasty as was the wine and beer. Isabel was a fabulous guide, and knows about everyone and everything in the City. We visited some amazing secret streets and shops and bars, and tasted wine to die for and gorgeous food. We got a real sense of pride in the heritage and history of Málaga, and a recognition of the more troubled periods over the centuries.
