This was my first time in Santiago (first time in Chile, at all) and honestly I didn’t know what I should be doing/seeing or even much of the history. Travel websites weren’t very helpful bc they all suggest excursions that take you out of the city, but I wanted to SEE the city I was staying in! Patrick has an absolute wealth of knowledge ranging from history to architecture to nature and even the weather! We had great conversation and he was extremely friendly/helpful. Will absolutely be booking again the next time I’m in Chile! 🇨🇱 Friendly and knowledgable!

Our group of 4 had an amazing day learning about and exploring Santiago with Amalia. She was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, kind, funny and obviously very interested in sharing Santiago's history and Chilean culture with us. She took us to the hidden gems like La Moneda Cultural Center and Bellavista. Our day finished at Cerro San Cristobal - funicular up, gondola down and a surprise at the very end. We were four of us in Santiago with one day to tour Santiago actually we had about five hours and I contact with local and was put in touch with Amelia to coordinate our tour of Santiago. We met up with her and immediately she started giving us some of the history and took us on a walking tour of all the important places and the market and the food and then we ended our day going up to the top of the mountain. I forget the name of the mountain. She was polite, courteous, and had lots of information to share with us and provided us with a lot of the history and made the five hours flyby before we knew it. I would highly recommend a tour with locals and with Amelia particular I truly enjoyed the day in fact, all four of us were very, very pleasedA great day in Santiago

Having Alejandra guide us around Santiago was a wonderful experience. We had lots of fun exploring and learning about Santiago. We didn’t have long in Santiago, so we wanted to get an immersive experience of local food and culture before we departed, and we were not disappointed! We met Patrick at an easy to find spot, just a few minutes from our hotel, he’s friendly and energetic demeanour made the introductions easy and we knew we would be in good hands for the next few hours. One point worth making early is to ensure you turn up hungry! Within 5 mins we had stopped and was sampling empanadas and a local sweet dish (I can’t remember the name) which was a preserved peach with grains, yummy! We then took a leisurely walk through Santa Lucia park, from bottom to top, where Patrick shared his extensive knowledge of history, which was fascinating. The views from the top are amazing on a clear day. We then meandered through the streets and this is when the food came thick and fast! From local hotdogs (completo), beers, pisco sours and churros. Getting to know Patrick was a pleasure and the time was flying by. We end up in a very cool neighbourhood, bustling with people, shops and eateries. It is here we tried a crab empanada which was amazing then finished off with Ice cream. Hard to put words to this tour, as we had just arrived and it was exactly what we wanted/ needed to experience some of the local area feeling safe and in good company. Claudia is very knowledgeable and she doesn’t just give you the historical story but includes recent discoveries, and opposing opinions. I felt much more informed about Chilean history and Santiago after the tour and had a few good laughs with Claudia. The only reason I don’t give it full marks is because the tour could have been a bit more personalised - especially the first hour that we spent on the same square.Great guide.
