Wear your comfortable walking shoes, bring water if it is a hot day, because you are going to see Everything! And you are going to learn more. Roxane is super nice, full of personality only overshadowed by her knowledge of the city, the history, the hidden gems, local eats, where to get the better than "the best" listed on the internet. Plus great advice on using public transportation. Multi lingual, great energy, even though we were her second tour of the day. Our five hour tour was a whirlwind of stories, and sites, while paying attention to logistics (bathroom breaks, time in the shade, and breaks for the older folks in the group to rest) She assisted in all communication and purchases with locals and vendors. When it is time to eat, just ask her where she would go...and then go there! We thought our time was over with her and then we asked if she would like to guide us through the Belvedere Museum, this leg could be a tour of it's own. She is a food expert, and as we found out, an art/architecture/cultural encyclopedia. Touring with Roxane is like touring with a local friend, and we now consider her our friend in Vienna. Thank you Roxane. So Happy!!! To have a tour with Roxane!

Our group of 4 really enjoyed our tour with Roxanne. We had fun, she was informative, and the pace was great. Her English is wonderful. She tailored the tour to our interests. She was flexible with changes, even during the tour. We had an ice cream break and threw in a library tour that was well worth it and one of the highlights. She timed it perfectly to get us to the opera house in time for our tour there. We all talked about the tour that evening and agreed it was the best one we've had so far in Europe. Thanks. Susanne is a very warm and engaging person, with an enormous amount of knowledge on Vienna due to her historian background. She is a wonderful storyteller, bringing to life snippets of interesting information about the places we visited. When we experienced a delay at one of the cafes we visited Susanne kept us entertained with more stories. Ultimately we ended up moving to another cafe due to the delay, but that was by no means any fault of Susanne's. We enjoyed our foodie tour. I would recommend Sandy in a heartbeat! I booked the tour while I was still back home in Canada and Sandy was super easy to communicate with through the With Locals website. I had only an evening layover in Vienna. Sandy picked me up from the airport and tailored a late night tour to accommodate my short time frame. Sandy also graciously accommodated my last minute request to invite two friends who had decided on short notice to fly from the UK to meet me in Vienna. Our family of four had lots of fun with Sandy on the pastry tour. We were in Vienna just for the weekend and this was a great way to get a little history, try some well known pastries and experience a few of the coffeehouses. When our family arrived two minutes early to the designated meet up location, we immediately started looking for Sandy. We searched everywhere in the vicinity, with no luck. Sandy later claimed she had been there, but if true, she didn’t look for us (a family of 4, obviously searching for someone). I texted 10 minutes after the meeting time and got no reply until about 20 minutes later, when she said she was already home and couldn’t get back for another 20 minutes. We’d waited in the cold for over 45 minutes at that point. This was wildly frustrating and disappointing to me and my family. What a terrible way to start our visit to Vienna, and totally surprising given the great experience we had with this company in Greece just a few years earlier.No show

Everything was smooth and easy with Roxane, from corresponding with her before the booking to meeting up my first morning in Vienna. She was willing to accommodate my request to get oriented to the transit system, including stops near my hotel, how payment works, and pitfalls to avoid. We talked about the history of Vienna and myths that make for great stories. You should ask about her thesis on cultural culinary institutions in Vienna! After our time together, I took our same route into the city center a few times and never felt lost. Met Sandy by the golden bear and straight away we both knew we were with a local, she was just a lovely bright woman with a passion for her city Vienna. She holds your interest in the way she is, and had a rare and interesting historical knowledge of her city but can go back and go to the present day in a way only someone like her can. She took us first for the genuine Austrian sandwiches where only Viennese were they were delicious and delicate and the baby beer balanced them beautifully. She is easy to talk to and interested in the world so you feel like you have met a new friend. The next stop was to enjoy Pumkin soup and platter of local Viennese cured meats, cheeses and delicious breads, matched with a local Danube Austrian Sauvignon I can still taste this now just sumptuous. She chats and walks and gives you great tips and then we arrive at a lovely Viennese coffee house for 3 sweet delicacies we barely have room but cannot resist and have to say the Strudel won. This tour with Susanne is great in several key ways. One of our group members had a gluten allergy, and Susanne was empathetic and helpful to provide suggestions and alternatives; I think this was the biggest reason we had such a positive experience. Our group of four loves to learn about history, and so we enjoyed seeing the sights between each food stop and learning about them, as well as understanding the current and historical context behind the food we ate. There were more stops with smaller amounts of food, which I think was a good way to experience many different culinary environments. We still had time to linger at each place, so we did not feel like we were in a hurry. Susanne was a personable and friendly person to follow. Some tour guides seem like they're reciting a script or working on "auto-pilot," but with Susanne, conversation flowed naturally all while she led us through Innere Stadt. We felt comfortable with her, and I strongly recommend this tour with her!An inclusive and educational experience!
