My wife and I only had one day to see many of the important sites in Milan. Our goal was to see the Duomo interior and rooftops, Sforza Castle, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and La Scala. Francesca and I messaged multiple times as we created a plan. She was always prompt and polite. The tour itself was wonderful. Fast and efficient. Francesca knows her way around the city and the made sure we hit the highlights are every stop. At La Scala, we were fortunate to see the beginning of an Opera rehearsal. We chose Francesca for this tour and so glad we did. She was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. My husband injured his knee and she was very mindful of his comfort. Her knowledge of Milan’s history is vast. We learned so much. She brought us to churches as this was our interest. We strolled through a lovely botanical garden. It happened to be fashion week so we detoured to the high end designer shopping district to window shop. She found a terrific cafe for lunch with the most delicious paninis. Our tour with Francesca was one of the best ever. Francesca understood our area of interest and presented the complex and interesting history of Milan and Italy so well….from its fascinating political evolution …. to its ever changing social dynamics…. and its rich cultural. She even brought us by an art supply store on the way to the art academy where my artist husband purchased tubes of beautiful oil colors from the top producer in the world. A real treat. Francesca was a tremendous guide. We started our tour at the Duomo where Francesca breathed life into the intricacies of this historic and blessed structure. Afterwards we had an espresso at a newly restored Campari bar with beautiful mosaics. We proceeded to the Galleria with even more ancient works of art on the edifice and the floors. From there we walked past La Scala and into the fabulous Brera neighborhood. I can’t imagine that I would be able to describe how beautiful it was without writing a large travel book. Scuola and Libraries, beautiful Botanic Gardens and incredible wine bars and shops to name a few. We ended our tour at the Castle and before she left, she recommended the most incredible restaurant that only locals would patronize. Thank you Francesca. A tour through the best of Milan

Salvatore was a very good, knowledgeable guide. The only reason for the 9/10 is that what should have been a walking tour then suddenly involved a metro trip and taxi ride to and from the castle which, as a group tour, we weren't expecting, hadn't budgeted for, and potentially could have caused some issues with mobility given the demographic of our groups. As individuals this would have been great but it would have been good to know about these additions in advance.Very knowledgable guide

Our flight was delayed and so we had to 1 day to see Milano - this tour was a fantastic way to start seeing some of the things that make the city special. Salvatore had a relaxed and humorous style, and he introduced us to a variety of sites, sharing about the history, architecture, city planning, and sociocultural influences of each. We loved this tour. It started with the standard highlights, with some emphasis on hidden gems then moved to modern Milan. We unexpectedly loved this part. It was so interesting. We had no idea that Milan had transformed a bad area into a successful live, work, retail area with model buildings and ecosystems that we had studied at work and school. It was amazing. Right across the street was a district that was hundreds of years old. An amazing experience. Also got valuable tips for public transportation and gelato. Salvatore is passionate about his subject. First of all, the Duomo is fantastic, and well worth the visit. We booked two tours with Omar -- the Duomo and also the Highlights and Hidden Gems. Omar is from Milan and an experienced guide. He was wonderful, and really made the Duomo -- which is amazing -- come to life. He knows the city like the back of his hand and was able to show us some wonderful things and really give us a feeling for their history and how they were used. We had my wife and mother-in-law for the Duomo part of things, and he was careful to make sure that my mother-in-law was OK with all the climbing. Omar is warm and funny and knowledgeable. Most of all, our guide, Serena, was outstanding and I would give her the max rating, but the language about the tour is completely misleading, so I'm reducing it to reflect that fact. The tour is titled "Your Way," and we booked this tour because we wanted to visit the Duomo and the Castelo di Sforza. We read that tickets were not included and were prepared to purchase our own, including those for our guide. But Serena told us she is not allowed to guide in either venue. Huh? We got the guide to visit and learn about these places. We have been using Withlocals for years and have always enjoyed the high-quality and engaging guides associated with you. Please don't turn into Viator. We did enjoy our walk around the city. We learned much from Serena and it's a shame we could not have her inside those two venues.
