Philippe provided intriguing stories about Gaudi, interesting information about the history of Catalunya, and helpful insight into the culture and perspectives of the locals. We appreciated that he pointed out the highlights of the Sagrada Familia that we should not miss before we went in for that part of the tour. We had a wonderful private bike tour with Philippe. Philippe was really interesting, knowledgable, and very easy going. We learned a ton about Barcelona and all things Gaudi. We saw even more than just the Gaudi sites, including Plaça de Sant Jaume, the Homenatge als Castellers, and Wandering Cat in La Raval. Cycling with Philippe through the city was a great way to experience Barcelona while learning about the fantastic history of Gaudi! It’s a perfect way to get your children learning about architecture without long waiting periods for transportation between sights. Phillipe was excellent, incredibly knowledgeable with lots of interesting information. He was very friendly too and it felt like the tour was with a good friend rather than a guide. Nothing was too much trouble and we all loved it, including our 17 year old son. The bikes and the route were very easy and I would say it is by far the best way to see this beautiful city. Philippe did a great job explaining what the artist was trying to convey and pointing out many items we would have missed had we not had a tour guide. The skip the line Familia Sagrada are well worth it, the regular lines were very long and it was hot. Our group was pleasantly surprised at how bike friendly the route we toured. Trop souvent un guide, apres avoir repete le meme texte des centaines de fois , est comme un robot! Ce ne fut pas le cas avec Philippe. Non seulement il est Francais mais son Anglais est parfait ( le Francais de mon epouse est rocailleux) il pu engager nos petits enfants en Francais dans des Sujets comme architecture, histoire medievale et tapas. Il nous amena voir une seance de Flamenco ( le vrai, pas des robots) et Il nous offrit meme l’ experience de preparer une paella que nous avons degustee et qui fut excellent. I wish I would have learned about withlocals and been paired up with Philippe sooner. I took the Gaudí bike tour with him the day prior to my Barcelona departure. And what an incredible experience - to bike ride throughout the city with someone as knowledgeable as Philippe was truly a treat! Philippe goes into great detail about the different sites of Barcelona - not only those related to Gaudí, but also the current political climate, the history of Catalunya vs Barcelona and everything in between. It was a perfect matrimony of education and fun, made even better by his great sense of humor and pleasant disposition. And the visit to Sagrada Família was the icing on the cake.
