Enjoy a breath of fresh and let's enjoy the natural path of this national park. I will show you the hidden gems that you would not normally discover by yourself all the way to the summit. I'll take you through routes away from the crowds and up the mountain. The scenic road will unfold paddy fields and how the local people cultivate the land or harvest the rice, wildflowers and old pines forest. One thing that makes the Ba Vi National Park so special is its 4 seasons in one-day climate. From spring in the morning, summer before noon, autumn in the early afternoon and winter in the late afternoon.
You may see several mountain brooks flow murmur on mountain sides along the way you go-up, but it is hard to see out a hidden mountain stream where you can hear a symphony of water hit the cliff and immerse in clear and cool water nearby its waterfall. Along with the trekking, you could stop at a water surface and practice how to throw stones skip over the top of the water, it is really fun! Or contemplate lovely punctured leaves and let's find out why the leaves there have perfect holes.
The Ba Vi National Park gives you the option to climb up the stone steps of two peaks. One peak takes you to reach the highest Peak, and it is about 1200 steep stone steps where you can find a Bao Thien tower pagoda and a temple dedicated to Ho Chi Minh where you can find an entombed part of Ho Chi Minh during the USA war. The views from the Ho Chi Minh's temple side are incredible, from there you can contemplate the Da river and paddy fields below the valley. The other peak takes you to reach a Mountain God temple and a mystery trail. The path we'll take it's up to you!
Going down, you'll admire a vestige belonging to the French war - the ruins of an old French Church - which are pretty cool and surrounded by jungle and several abandoned French villas.
Keep moving down to visit a Cactus garden where you may feel like a corner of Africa in the heart of Ba Vi mountains Hanoi.

While the first part of the tour in Ba Vi National Park was enjoyable and showcased the natural beauty of the area, the second part of the tour—a hike in the surrounding area—was an extremely disappointing and unsafe experience.
Due to the aftermath of a storm in September, the hiking path was heavily obstructed by fallen trees and overgrown vegetation. The guide and I frequently had to climb over or duck under fallen trees and even leave the designated trail to navigate blocked areas. This made the hike not only physically demanding but also unsafe. I did not encounter any other hikers on this path, likely because the trail’s condition posed significant risks.
The presence of overgrown bushes, fallen trees, and even a small snake during the hike added to the sense of danger. To make matters worse, when asked whether there would be restroom facilities, the guide suggested “using nature,” which is not an acceptable solution during a paid tour.
Given the state of the pathway, it was highly irresponsible to include this hike as part of the itinerary without notifying me in advance. I expected a safe and enjoyable experience but instead found myself in a dangerous situation with no clear access to help had anything gone wrong.
I strongly believe the hike should have been replaced with a safer alternative or removed altogether, given the current state of the trail. I cannot recommend this tour unless significant improvements are made to ensure the safety and comfort of participants.Unsafe Hiking Experience - Avoid

It was a convenient and fun outing at Ba Vi. Loan drove us through the local village before the park, pointing out the way of life and local specialties.
She packed a tasty box of noodles that we had at a peaceful stream, then brought us up above the clouds. Sitting at the small serene temple with windchimes is just amazing, I could stay there all day.

Loan is incredible!!! She was super nice, got in touch with us before the trip and explained some organizational things with us. She offered a lot of information during out hike, super flexible with our requests and a fun person to be around. The views are great, it s quite, a lot if nature and the trail is organized with steps, parking and a place to eat or drink something/ go to the toilet if needed. Loan took my girlfriend and I on a day trip to Ba Vi National Park. The entire experience was outstanding in every way imaginable and greatly exceeded our expectations.
If you want a local guide with excellent knowledge of her country, including its history and its natural environment, Loan is the perfect choice. She gave us a variety of options on how we could spend our day and showed us some gorgeous views, secluded settings and remarkable historical sites. She answered all of our questions in great detail and offered other interesting facts that helped us gain insights into Vietnamese wildlife and culture. We had a great time with Loan in Ba Vi Nationalpark. We first went to a waterfall in the rainforest and then went up to the second highest peak. Loan gave us insight into the nature in Vietnam and we had a wonderful time. There were quite some mosquito in the rainforest but Loan asked us to bring mosquito spray so we were prepared. Wir wurden vom Hotel abgeholt... das war schon mal ein Plus. 😊Die deutsche Verständigung war eher schlecht... aber es gab ja den Google Übersetzer ☹️Aufgrund des doch sehr schlechten Wetters (da halfen auch die Plastiküberzieher der Reiseleiterin nicht ) haben „wir“ den Ausflug vorzeitig abgebrochen... daher kann ich auch nicht mehr in die Bewertung schreiben. Die vorzeitige Beendigung des Ausflugs ging von uns aus nicht von Loan.

Der Trip in den Nationalpark mit Loan war einfach großartig. Sie war schon so oft dort und kennt gefühlt jeden Stein. Schon auf der Fahrt hat sie und viel erzählt zu Dingen, die am Straßenrand zu beobachten waren. Sie zeigt einem die Dinge, die man sehen will und wann immer man mal eine Pause braucht oder ein paar Fotos machen möchte wird halt angehalten. Ich kann mir keine bessere Art vorstellen, Ba Vi zu erkunden :-)

Vietnam is so green and you can really get close to the nature with a visit to their national park. The climb is intense. I'd say that if you are not in good physical shape, this tour might not be for you. The steps going up to the temple were under improvements so there were uneven and muddy areas that anyone with uneven footing, balance issues, or weak leg strength might want to avoid until the renovations are complete. You can still visit the park and walk around which is beautiful. If you can undertake the climb to the temple, it's worth the time and workout. Stunning views! Loan put together a great experience. Her english was easy for me to understand and she was very knowledgeable. We went outside the city to do some hiking up two mountains and got to see temples at the top. The view was amazing and she was able to provide a lot of insight on the area. It was a fun day and you will get to go outside and explore as much of the nature as you like. Loan will never make you feel rushed and allow you to take in the sights for as long as you like. Loan, our local guide, is super nice and accommodating. She is very familiar with the Hanoi neighborhood and took us to sample scrumptious and unique cuisines. We enjoyed fresh green papaya salad, deep fried fermented pork rolls, banh mi with fresh vegetables and BBQ pork from the grill. We then had an ice cold local beer to clear our palates before fragrant beef broth pho. It has been a wonderful experience to navigate the Old Quarter to work off some of the extra calories. We ended our tour watching the train pass through as we sipped rice wine at Train Street. Perfect day!Best food tasting ever at Hanoi!

We had the most amazing morning with Loan doing walking tour of the Old Quarter. She was very informative, took us into places that you’d never go into as a foreigner (little back streets and very local places) and it just felt special. An insiders look into Hanoi.

I am fortunate to have a rich and varied heritage—half from Hanoi, a quarter from Ninh Binh, and a quarter from Hoi An. Growing up amidst such diverse cultural influences in Vietnam, I was surrounded by fascinating stories shared by my grandparents and parents about our country’s history, culture, traditional food, and way of life. These stories sparked a deep curiosity in me, and I became an avid reader, always eager to learn more.
Traveling has always been one of my greatest passions. As I grew older, I had the chance to explore many parts of Vietnam, as well as travel across Southeast Asia and Western Europe. I am deeply proud of the beauty of my country and love to share it with others. My experiences abroad have also given me a new perspective, allowing me to see the contrasts between Eastern and Western cultures, which has only deepened my admiration for the unique beauty of each place. Above all, I have developed a profound respect for cultural diversity and a commitment to preserving and celebrating my own heritage.
Though I once started a local business to support rural women and children in need—a venture that didn’t ultimately succeed—I was then introduced to Withlocal.
