I was looking for a unique experience to tour the colosseum with my children (9 and 7- boys), keeping them engaged and interested and this was a disappointment. It was very history heavy and they quickly lost interest. If you’re looking for an in-depth understanding of Ancient Rome, this is a great tour but if you are looking for one that’s more interactive and holds kids’ attention, this isn’t it! Valeria was really friendly, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her architecture background brought a really great insight to the tour of Colosseum and Forum. If you’re questioning the cost in anyway, I would say it is worth every penny. Not only do you have the great knowledge, one to one attention of Valeria and therefore you can ask any questions, but also when the attractions are so busy it’s incredibly valuable to have your own personal guide who can take you to one side easily and find somewhere quieter to give you more information. She is really an exceptional guide. We asked for not commin things in Rome and she gave us 4 hrs the best we could get. Unbelievable as much special and hidden gemms we saw. We had such a great experience on our Colosseum tour with Valeria. She was very easy to deal with in the lead up and on the day it was really easy to find her among the crowds. The tour was fantastic. Valeria had amazing knowledge of all of the history of the Colosseum and was great at engaging our 12 and 9 year old daughters throughout, as well as accommodating my 79 year old mother. We loved the Colosseum/Forum tour with Valeria. She is smart, interesting, and caring. When we originally booked for 10:30am, she wisely recommended we move earlier to avoid the sun and crowds. Valeria was absolutely the right choice for our Vatican Experience plus St Peter’s Basilica. She was the right mix of religion, building, history and amusing facts to keep the four of us entertained during our visit. She skilfully manoeuvred us into areas to talk to us and point out information and show/explain everything. I’d been to the Vatican 10 years prior but got so much more out of this visit. The only difficulty was the explanation in where to actually meet from the Get Your Guide instructions. It did not explain clearly. Valeria was a great host and taught us lots about the colosseum and forum! Our kids are 8, and 5 year old twins. Mum and dad and our 8 year old found it all fascinating and Valeria had plenty of pictures and things which she loved looking at. The 5 year olds were not so interested, which we did expect, they are young! But they did make it up all the steps without too much complaining! We enjoyed our tour with Valeria...have to say, the private tour was absolutely way to go, instead of joining one of the heaps of large tour groups throughout the Colosseum and Forum. We could move at our own pace and see and do the things we cared the most about during our time. Because our travel party involved both kids and seniors, this was especially beneficial. Valeria was great with pre-tour communication. She made us feel valued and accommodated, especially when lots of tours were being cancelled due to lack of ticket availability to the Colosseum. The only negative we felt was During the tour itself, there was a lack of personal connection. Valeria was very kind and absolutely tried to accommodate our group. Still, it was apparent that she wasn't used to seniors and children on her tours as neither felt particularly well cared for. We were rushed through the forum and the opportunity to take photos was limited, despite that being a huge interest point for our group. Valeria always let us know "It's however you want to use your time" during the tour, but left us feeling a bit like we were compromising one element for another without really guiding us on the best of what to see. It's obvious Valeria is deeply passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Rome and the facilities here. She simply wanted to share much more than what the time allowed us to do! Informative and Interesting!

Our whole day in Rome was a wonderful experience, not just the tour itself, because of Valeria. She gave us such excellent recommendations on gelato places and restaurants which made the day complete. The tour itself was really good despite the heat and crowds Valeria made it adaptable for our children to cope, keeping to the shade and finding quieter spots. She also gave us a good directions to find the Palace of Emperor Tiberius after the tour ended (a must see for us as our son is named Tiberius). The children had fun with the scavenger hunt she provided and they all got a prize which they liked. Overall totally worth it and made for a day never to forget. My family of 5 was visiting Rome for the first time and we thought it would be a great idea to set up a tour of the Colosseum since we were not sure that we could easily navigate through it on our own. We are so glad that we did!!
